The Most Broken Thing in Season 6
There are a lot of powerful things in Season 6, but the one thing that is probably the most broken is the dragon - specifically Infernal and Mountain Drakes. So, let's run through what they offer now, why they're so good, and what can be done to fix them for next season.
Infernal Drake: +8/16/24% bonus Attack Damage and Ability Power Mountain Drake: +10/20/30% bonus True Damage to turrets and epic monsters
As it stands right now, while it may be rare to get 3 straight Infernal Drakes or 3 straight Mountain Drakes, if one team gets all 3, they now have about a 95% chance to win the game. The bonuses, especially with the +50% to the bonuses with the Elder Drake, are strong enough that, if they get all 3 of one of them, even if the team as a whole is 0/50, they're now highly likely to win the game. A late game ADC build generally will have around 250-300 AD in it, so to them, with 3 Infernal Drakes, everything becomes butter, and with 3 Mountain Drakes, turrets, future dragons, and baron become butter. Not to mention that an Elder Drake with even one of these dragon buffs can turn a game around.
So, what can be done about them?
A few things. One is to lower the bonuses, for Infernal to 6/12/18% and for Mountain to 5/10/15%. The second is to make it so that the next dragon to spawn will never be the same as the one currently spawned. For example, if the current one is Infernal, the next one cannot be Infernal ever. This will bring more diversity into the dragon buffs players are getting in the games and make it less likely that a single team will get all 3 of these dragons. I'm a bit surprised that junglers who can solo the dragon early aren't the most popular junglers right now because an early Infernal drake can basically guarantee that all lanes win, while an early Mountain Drake can basically guarantee turret first blood. Pretty much the only way it doesn't is if the enemy team is significantly better than yours or your team just doesn't play their advantages right. These things can snowball a game to a point where it's impossible for the enemy team to come back, no matter how good they are. Yes, I understand that why Riot made the dragons like this is to make them have more of an impact on the game, but right now I think it's going a bit too far.
But, if you guys think I'm wrong you can go ahead and leave a comment, add your thoughts to my ideas for ways to nerf the dragons, and in general give your thoughts on the subject. Thanks for reading.
