Can you revert the anti-cheat update until you find a fix to all of this bull?

Some of us shouldnt have to be forced to quit the game just because we dont have the necessary tools to fix whatever the problem you caused is.

For example, Wine users will now have to quit the game. I am unable to turn off kernel debugging due to pc issues and i will now have to quit the game.

Im not sure how you managed to block normal players with your anti-cheat update but i would like to play the game again please.

I would like to see statistics on how many players were blocked. I too play on Linux, but if it will prevent me from playing I'd at least like to be able to take comfort in knowing cheaters were blocked instead of just others.

They'd never be able to prove any of those people were cheating. There are a million legitimate things that could look like cheating to a programmer who is not very skilled. For example, NVIDIA desktop manager draws lines on the screen when you drag a window around. Is that a "cheating overlay" or just something to help you align your desktop? What about something like f.lux that makes your screen slightly more red at night?

It's a poorly thought out solution and I feel confident in saying, without even looking to see what cheats are available for the game, that it's a knee-jerk reaction to some specific, overlay-based, cheat the developers saw. It will do nothing to prevent hackers from coming up with a different type of cheat, which they certainly will.

As for those of us who just wanted to play the game? We'll have to find another game, because probably none of us are willing to make the same level of programming effort as the hack sellers just to get a game working.

Wow dude I'm sure Riot really cares about the 0.1% of people who insist on using Linux for their gaming machine.

You should complain to the Wine devs to support Windows API fully instead of expecting devs to bend over backwards to make things run on that garbage.

Why are you defending the decision to fuck over a large chunk of the playerbase for literally no reason? Some of us cant fix the issues that the new update caused. We literally just got told "sorry you cant play the game if you cant do XYZ to fix something that WE caused". If you can play the game normally, thats great, please leave and play the game rather than sitting here trying to seem like you're better than everyone who uses a completely legitimate system to play the game.

And PS, i do not use Wine. Clearly you did not read the post before commenting. Goodbye.

Well if you're gonna be vague about what your issue is and then bring up Wine it sounds like you use Wine.

Anyway did you know League works perfectly on Windows 10?

koshkyra1 votes

I am using Windows 10 and it does not work perfectly. I am locked out of the game.

Khristophoros1 votes

What's causing that to happen? Have you sent any support tickets?

koshkyra1 votes

Read the post, and yes

Khristophoros1 votes

So the anti-cheat code thinks you cheated or what? Why would it do that? Were you running some kind of weird software that messed with League's memory?

The new patch made it so that you need to have kernel debugging turned off to play the game. Im not sure why, but i dont really care.

I am unable to turn off kernel debugging because of PC issues and am now effectively locked out of the game.

I dont run anything while i play LoL, i have LoL open and nothing else (unless antivirus programs running in the background? but im almost positive that would never block it. also, riot works with my antivirus to prevent anything from happening) so im pretty annoyed at this.

What PC issues force you to run kernel debugging? Sounds like something that should be fixed.

I have been stressfully calling and chatting with multiple support lines over the last few days and im working on getting the problem fixed. The thing is that i could just not do all of this and play the game if Riot would just revert the patch or smt.

So what happens if you are not running kernel debugging?

the new "anti-cheat" program is viewing perfectly legit programs as cheat programs, like, simple windows services, not even 3rd party stuff.. my firewalls/antivirus programs are actually reading each League .exe multiple times, so i actually have to add duplicate exceptions to each one on each firewall, which is causing unneeded latency to my games, but it's fine i can still play fine. it also is making the game incompatible with specific processors (the fuck?) the point is, this new program is only making unnecessary trouble and alienating a chunk of players they really screwed the pooch on this one..

The thing that bugs me the most is that rather than just reverting the issue and trying to fix it, they are expecting US to be the ones to fix it for ourselves. I have spent the last 3 days stressfully calling/chatting with multiple support lines when they could just admit their mistake and revert the patch.

This patch is really bad. I've played league on and off for about a decade... I've spent tons of money on this game overtime. I have never once cheated in my life. I don't think I've ever commented on a forum either but I want people to know it's not just linux. I use windows 10, ryzen processor, and Nvidia gpu (I built my own pc for the sake of streaming league.. so I invested a lot) Something in the anti cheat is not allowing me to play. What's even worse, it let's me select champion only to be booted and screw my team over. If your going to make a patch that screws loyal paying customers over, atleast make sure they don't screw over other players by getting booted after champion select. Wow, I am really surprised about all of this.. really sad. I thought they were better than this. Actually dissapointing because I loved them. Their solution basically says "oh go try and fix it yourself, hope it works."

Honestly why release the patch without atleast having a bit of directions for a solution that can work for everyone? I have not really experienced something like this before. Never posted on a forum yet because I have always been happy about the product. Whoever said this was a good idea is simply wrong. By getting rid of a few cheaters riot has now ensured that I probably won't ever give them any of my money ever again.. which I guess is good for me after all. Thanks I guess ?!?!

I'm sure there will be some solid solution here soon but as a company, this was the dumbest thing I think they have done.. I'm just very dissapointed but I have faith they will fix things with time. Just really unprofessional.
