Eve's E

So I know that it's a SUPER strong ability, right? But . . .

That kind of doesn't matter if it can't be applied to like, most of every ADC/Assassin that has hyper mobility. I played a bot game with non-mobile champions, and it was difficult to even use before the enemy seen me. Somebody with a brain that isn't a bot could just easily flash or even dash away. Why exactly does Eve have to be close enough to actually be seen to even use the ability? Most people can react in under 0.5 seconds to get away from her - the charm already informs people 2 times of where she is. Both vaguely and then universally . . .Z

I know that you can dash with E while in shroud but you're already spotted and because you're a mid-end game assassin, the enemy Corki / Lucian just fucking fly swatted your ass.

Overall? I love the new Eve. But holy fucking shit is she god damn awful at like, you know, being Rengar.

EDIT

Guys:

Charm Reveals your local distance to an opponent when it is applied, even in stealth Charm reveals your UNIVERSAL location to an opponent after the completion of said charm

Some people seem to think that it's like this big fucking mystery where Eve is when charm is going off, ROFL. I played against an 18/3 Eve in my Urgot jungle game - I could solo her even while I was behind as Urgot. URGOT EVERYBODY.

Fucking, Urgot.

I see people say she is supposed to flank and pick people off but that's hard to do when it's jsut 5 vs 5 team fighting all the time and supports are hugging their ADC as if they are oxygen dispensers and need them to survive

Why should an assassin be good at teamfigting? If that happens then they've learnt how to counter you and you just have to adapt and play around it. Protect your adc or splitpush.

This comment has literally no reason for existing, what are you even saying / talking about? Being able to sneak up on somebody doesn't mean you're good at teamfighting. Even in the literal sense can't sneak up on people - there is no surprise because there's 3 warnings in her kit:

Stage 1 Initial Heart / Local Awareness Stage 2 End Heart / Global Awareness Stage 3 Walk up to enemy / Get spotted instantly

thats what im talking about?

idk if you've played against her but when im alone in a jungle and there's a charm above my head i find it suprising not even knowing which direction she's coming from and die before i can do anything (ofc im squishy and shes fed tho)

The heart literally points to where Eve is, there is no way for her to sneak up on you unless if you're walking right up and into her muff.

The legends tell of an epic story of Evelynn having a dash on her basic ability.

The truth is Garen's Q-empowered basic attack is a better dash.

Maybe a small range buff would be alright but generally they can't make it a big one since she get's to have stealth, That's already massive over others who are slow and have to time their ganks knowing that it's warded.

Doesn't help to have a dash if your opponents see you 8 seconds ahead of time and run away, that kinda thing.

Eve after 6 doesn't let her opponents get more than 2 seconds of a warning.

Rengar I agree with you, an enemy champion shouldn't be jumped on while in stealth and do extreme burst damage. Shaco I'd have to agree with you on that one. Talon I'd third that comment. You shouldn't be able to just gimp somebody instantly, that shits unfair to play against when you have no defensive items. Twitch I'd like to third th-

Vayne Shut the fuck up Twitch, nobody cares.

Rengar is pretty much the AD version of Diana.....but tankier and was extremely OP for a long time due to a lot of things, but he has fallen off hard. But he does get to have strong all ins because he can't get out once he´s done.

Shaco is weak as far as i know, rework pushed him into a corner then a hole in which he remains.

Talon is fair though, he doesn't just appear outa nowhere, nor does he have any way to gapclose from long distances, however i´ll admit that he is extremely cheesy early for melee matchups due to his passive.

Twitch is a pest, literally and figuratively, but at least we can hope his popularity in worlds becomes his downfall as it's been for many others.

Vayne is a abomination that shouldn't exist, at least not with that W.

Crits and such a high % max health damage as well as stealth is not alright on a single champ :(

Talon has a gap closer on his Q which can reach an entire lane away with a combined movement speed of his core item and ultimate item 3142 he can reliably get to his target while invisible very easily, unlike Eve.

Rengar does eves job better - and is less tanky than Diana. Proof: https://puu.sh/xWDXt/bcccb52fc0.jpg VS https://puu.sh/xWDXf/a30bfb94b0.jpg This doesn't include Diana double shield on her W.

ADC's have higher burst and sustain than Eve, Twitch in particular does it while invisible - ADC's are the superior choice to Evelynn at this point. If you want Eve then just pick Twitch or Vayne - you have way more choices.

Man, by the time he has ghostblade and you sit so far up in lane with no vision of the sides or front then you´ve clearly done goofed anyway ._. Most assassins would have no problem taking someone down at that point.

And have you actually played Rengar and Diana? Rengar usually runs a lot of health/tank items these days which along with his W makes him hard to kill, very hard to kill compared to DIana who usually goes glass cannon or nearly so to actually burst people.'

Black clever, GA, titanic hydra are some common items on him.

Those charts are not terribly accurate at times since they do not consider builds.

Diana's W shield is very small, unless you max it, and even then you need a lot of AP to really get it working.

But by then you are a ming vase in terms of resistance's, trust me on that i´ve played her a fair lot.

And Twitch is a long standing issue, i highly doubt anyone considers him balanced at all.

Vayne is a abomination, mixing Crits, invisibility and max health true damage is just sheer insanity in the current game and she should be reworked :(

So except those two only Draven can really burst someone hard, and he has a excellent condition for it.

By default Diana is tankier than Rengar, she also has a tankier build than Rengar; you say that you won't max W on Diana but that's literally the second ability that you max on Diana - so mid game you'll have that ability nearly maxed.

Second of all, if you're building shit items like that on Rengar - you're literally inting. Don't build those items, they're awful. Lethality exists for this guy, use lethality.

A lot of what you're saying is just so uniformed and self provided.

Thefrostyviking1 votes

By default?

They start out basically the same stats wise, except Diana has a small armor lead while rengar has slightly more magic resist.

Then we add in Diana's W shield that's 80.

But rengar can use his W to heal 50% of his recently lost health, and against burst that's kinda potent, especially with just a bit more health built into his build, before nerfs that is what tank/diver rengar was about. Stack health and just enough damage to kill someone then repeatedly dive in while healing up most of the damage taken.

So if Diana quickly does 200 damage with W-Q or just 2 auto attacks+any ability or just a third auto then Rengar has effectively out tanked her with his W.

I fail to see how she is tankier by default, same stats except one has a bit more armor and the other magic resist but rengar tanks better.

Then we add in builds, Diana usually grabs ROA or hextech proto belt, then full on damage or maybe a zhonya.

So a little health then straight AP.

Rengar goes warrior-duskblade-GA or clever and then the other.

But the builds vary a lot but generally rengar's like items like steraks gage, titanic hydra, randuins omen, spirit visage after the first 3 damage items.

So if anything Rengar builds a lot tankier than Diana does, and by the looks of things many of the featured korean Diana mains like to rush Luden's echo if possible then just amass as much AP as possible as quickly as possible.

Glass cannon is their prefered way by the looks of it.

So i reaffirm my point here, Rengar is tankier, especially against burst, and he builds tankier than Diana.

I'be presented facts and statements based on reality while you choose to back out because you´ve nothing that can refute my claims.

My arguments summarized?

  1. Their base stats are so similar there is basically little difference but Rengar's W is better sustain and potentially immensely so, trying to burst him but failing will only result in him healing back a ton while Diana has a set but small W.

  2. Diana can't do her job without getting a lot of AP, especially higher up in lol, thus most of her mains actually prefer a glass cannon build, 2 hybrid defensive items like zhonya and ROA does not make her tanky but any means compared to rengar who actually grabs full on tank items......which only serve to increase his health and thus his W heal.

Thusly i conclude, because their base stats are so similar but the superiority of rengar´s W and his build path makes him a lot tankier. And while he might not burst as hard he is at least not a full on glass cannon that breaks apart after a single shot.

If Diana were to try and mimic rengar´s build path she´d end up being a inferior copy, less damage and less durability.

Thus, Rengar is a superior version of Diana, he does the same job, has a better snowball because AD and he get's to be tankier than her.

You were the one who said that ._.

My second arguement was that Rengar is slightly tankier by Diana but he builds more health and resistance items which along with his W serves to make him a lot tankier than she gets to be.'

Then you go in and say that based on champion description charts she is tankier than him, which i proved to be false, along with showing that he builds tankier than she does.

Because by raw stats and data - Diana is tankier with a shield, who also builds tanky AP items. Rengar doesn't build any of those items you listed because they're shit, and they're terrible on him - because they don't do anything to provide burst on Rengar.

http://www.probuilds.net/champions/details/Rengar

http://www.probuilds.net/champions/details/Diana

Even Diana's build offers more armor than Rengars build - because HE DOESN'T BUILD ARMOR. <-------------

Cleaver doesn't make you tanky - it's a shredding item with AD attachment and a movement speed utility. If you pay attention though, nobody builds Cleaver on Rengar - he isn't an auto attacking champion, he's a burst champion. Thus - you don't buy cleaver . . . you buy lethality.

Are you okay? Because I'd hate to continue watching you trample and slip over your own words.

Thefrostyviking1 votes

You link me a site where no one has more than 3 items tops on rengar and most have 1 or two.....dude that not how you compare builds.

That's how you compare early game.

And even the Diana players you linked never grab more armor than zhonya and ninja tabi, and that's against a 4 AD champs team in that case.

But even the Diana players there clearly prefer high AP builds if at all possible.

Check OP,GG for what the Koreans build and use on Rengar and you´ll realize that black clever is the third most bought damage item, because it applies on abilities as well.

The 300+ games rengar mains there aren't stupid by any means when it come to league, something you ought to realize if you had the presence of mind to realize all of them are sitting between diamond 2 and masters.

And you´d also realize that while they do build a ton of AD glass cannon style if snowballing hard they also frequently build stuff like amor or magic resistance like Randuin or spirit visage, because that's legit on rengar.

Something they never do on Diana.

And what the heck are you on about with "Because by raw stats and data - Diana is tankier with a shield"

Didn't i already tell you? They have basically the same stats and growth but Rengar's W is superior defensively compared to Diana's W, vastly so.

And if you compare their FULL builds rather than their first 2-3 items you´d also come to the realization that Rengar builds tankier.

Happiest Diana players, even on the site you linked, like to rush item 3285 into item 3152 . Then more full AP items like void staff, rabadon, lichbane while skipping zhonya for a banshee if they can get away with it.

Tanky build? With 300 health extra? Didn't you say Clever, which offers 100 more health, doesn't make you tanky?

Fact is, Rengar doesn't need burst as much as Diana does and he gets away with building tanky, the Koreans clearly know this and build accordingly.

And you would too if you weren't looking at a site checking the statistics of people that just got spanked over by the very Koreans.

For the last few years, that has served to prove that there hardly any point in checking any other region for builds or strategies since the Koreans clearly beat all the other regions by a longshot.

There is really no point in checking builds used in europe and NA if korean statistics are also available, you are far more likely to succeed using the Korean stuff, since thats where the western pros get their builds too.

Ever heard of the phrase "boot camp in korea"? it's mention by the analytics and commentators every time they talk about a LCS team having practiced somewhere.

And for a good reason, no other region has so many good players, that´s indisputable, thus i highly recommend you check their stuff since it's far more reliable than our own.

And many of the top tier Rengar mains in Korea like building deadmans plate, spirit visage and BC, yet they must clearly be boosted for using garbage items by your logic?

Now who here doesn't deserve the effort?

You willfully chose to ignore the existence of people with over 500 games dedicated to a champ in Diamond/master and even challenger being extremely good at said champ and decide they aren't as good as a LCS player with less than 150 ~ games on the same champ.

So I was lucky enough to get fed on eve for a game. let me just tell you, I was popping people for well over 1300 with just E. It also doesn't seem all that difficult to kill someone with the charm, Eve isn't necessarily a lane gank champion as much as she wants to find people alone while in jungle/river. You really need to use bushes in your pathing. The big advantage with her invisibility is that she cannot be seen while she enters bushes, so you can use those to make surprise appearances.

If you use W on someone while they are not in lane it becomes a whole lot easier to proc the Charm since they will not know what direction you are coming from.

uhh no, but the enemy team cannot see you if you walk into a bush that they are not in. So if you are invisible they cannot see you, and if you make it to a bush without getting within sight range they would have no way of knowing you are in that bush.

Her passive empowers her next E cast, so she doesn't need to be in stealth to use the dash portion.

You shouldn't be using it as a primary gap closer either, it's a sticking tool you should be using while your target is using their mobility spell as it will follow them through their dash

PrinceOfStorms1 votes

Her passive doesn't actually increase the range of her E, so the empowered part basically only gives it use to follow people through dashes.

MangelinaJolie1 votes

You lead with E from brush, you risk being seen and kited for a reliable follow up to your charm, or you play to the strength of her Q and land her CC from range.

It's a good ability with upsides and downsides. Personally I don't find much wrong with it... especially if you build protobelt.

The target having time to react is the entire point of the current official standpoint on assassins, and eve has just been clarified as an assassin.

You...you have a skill shot. If they suvive the initial burst and are faster then you you can still close the gap because its empowered. You guys keep making these posts about how eve isnt like ren, or other assassins. No of course not. She is evelynn. You play her like you want everyone to suffer and you enjoy it.

Nyarlathοtep

But you cant make anyone suffer. Thats the prob. She has way too much counterplay for an assasin. She has actually pretty low burst for an assasin. Her q takes some seconds to deal its full dmg. Her w has big preparation and WAY too much counterplay. Her is deals %max magic dmg for some reason. And her ulti is the only thing that makes her an assassin actually. It deals a good amount of dmg while also disengaging her. And if you want to pop the charm with your q you will lose your empowered e which takes a good chunk of her burst.

xSightlessx1 votes

_< I'm really struggling to understand how its difficult. I am my k/d with her is generally 2 to 1, sometimes more. Also you can E and Q at the same time. The skill shot is just outside of the actual invisibility reveal, most targets that Eve wants to kill are able to avoid this easily.

I mean she does way more damage then Rengar at least. Both cant do anything because one cant get next to the enemy, the other can but doesnt do enough damage to kill the target currently if he is even. It is an assassin problem for most part.
