Well, first of all, I'm really honored you recognized me as a Azir main. You're probably the first.
Second, I am in the most technical of cases, an Azir main. He was the first champ I bought, two months after first starting the game, and learned the game while learning him.
I'm still mastery 5 becuase I stopped playing him as much after the meta shifted, but I still know a lot about him. Also I would have mastery 6, but I didn't know how the mastery system worked back then.
Now, I tried my hardest after the meta shifts, and even though he's benched for now, whenever I get him in ARAM or some other gamemode, a wave of nostalgia washes over me, and everything come back...
#Now on to the tips. Skip here if you want to get to the good stuff.
First of all, I recommend looking up guides to fully grasp this champion. He is really complex and has a high skillcap, but the reward is worth it.
I'll give you some pointers.
Q -- Max it first. This is an important part of the AA Q AA TLD combo you need to deal damage in lane. This is the only way you can assert your rigthful dominance as emperor in laning, so learn to use it quickly. Q is an AA reset for your soldiers, so that helps you get it out faster.
W-- this is your second max spell. The extra AA speed you get is wonderful, but it doesn't compare to the early burst you get from maxing Q first. Kiting is a must when playing Azir, your soldiers cannot move on their own, so unlike a marksman, you can't kite and keep attack pressure on them without spawning a new soldier or using Q.
E-- your dash is a must have escape. Until you get experienced enough to make picks with the Shurima Shuffle, you can't afford to use it to engage, use it as an escape becuase your damage is too valuable to put yourself in harm's way. Master the EQ combo to travel long distances.
R-- this is your self peel and pick tool. A good trick in laning is to scoop your opponent into your tower when they decide to get cheeky when you're under turret.
Items-- Buy Stinger first, then go for Rylais, Morello, buy Berserker greaves when the enemy is squishy, sorcerer when they have tanks.
The rest of your items are situational, make Nashors one of the last things you finish.
Last thing I can say is practice practice practice.
