Riot, What Are You Trying To Accomplish?

What are you trying to accomplish with this Lux buff?

The only possible thing that you can accomplish with this buff is increasing Lux's winrate in low elo.

If you buff Xerath and Vel'Koz, then I might be able to understand what you are trying to do, but remember, according to you (Riot) and a majority of the playerbase, artillery mages are unhealthy.

Why is artillery unhealthy? Not everyone needs to be a dash in assassin, which seems to be the way the game is going. Ahri's unbeatable dash is the unhealthy gameplay, because you can't run or chase. Xerath can hit you from afar, but he can't escape if you close in.

There is only so much you can dodge, and there is no counterplay to that range factor. Skill should be a factor in beating an opponent, not a class advantage.

I also hate Ahri because she is too safe, but she actually makes you feel like you got outplayed.

Yes, I feel like I got outplayed when I gank her and she flies halfway across the map out of reach. If you want to see someone win off of their champ, look at ahri players. Xerath has clear weaknesses.

Nice try twisting my words, but you failed that completely. I already admitted she is way too safe, but when she goes in for the kill, she actually outplays you by dodging your skillshots to kill you, unlike Lux, who just lands one lucky Q, and bam, you're nuked.

As long as she's had that idiotic Q speed, I never felt like I outplayed anyone. If Riot is considering nerfing her, I encourage them to find the morons that did this to her, fix their mistake by reverting the 5.2 changes, apologize for prioritizing flashy movement over champion thematics, and return some amount of skill to her by balancing around hitting skillshots rather than spamming.

Now that sounds like a personal problem, especially when the skillshots are slow as fuck as well as telegraphic.

Do you mean this?

Final Spark (R) [new effect] If Final Spark kills an enemy champion, 30/40/50% of its cooldown is refunded.

Xerath and Vel'koz already have safer lower mana cost waveclear than lux. Which means they have push advantage on her. Which means they get poke advantage on her. Furthermore, lux has low stat shield for an ability while xerath and vel get another damage ability. This only helps xerath and vel further - or any other mid playing vs lux. Lux must go to auto attack range to make use of her passive to have acceptable waveclear early on -- putting her in much larger danger AND making her vulnerable to enemy poke during this time. In no way is lux better than or equal to xerath or vel. If she is beating them right now 1v1, it is purely due to the player being much better. And the buff is kinda irrelevant because it requires a KILL to get the cdr - the teamfight will still probably be over before she can ult again. In laning early on, sure she can get her ult back faster than others IF she gets a kill with it, but this is unlikely and not going to change the outcome of the lane much in the vast majority of situations. If you wanna keep dying to lux, taking 20 fewer seconds to do so isn't going to make you lose a game you otherwise would win.

I'm not arguing that Lux is better than them. The only reason why I said that is because they are from the same class called artillery mages. What a lack of reading comprehension!

You are also incorrect because she has the same range as them, with much better burst. The buff may seem nonexistent, but that's what I'm asking. Why is this here, what is this trying to accomplish?

I understood you perfectly - no lack of reading comprehension on MY part. You argue that xeroth and vel deserve buffs if lux gets one. But you fail to understand.

Vel'koz can clear waves at lvl 1 with 2 spells while harassing anyone in the wave. Lux takes much longer to waveclear. Until she gets a good chunk of ap, she can't even e, auto to clear the full wave. Xerath deals more damage with his long ranged waveclear/poke and can land it through minions. Lux cannot land her combo easily through full minion wave which she has to do vs either of these champs or has to walk predictably around wave to harass while farming. Thus the other two easily win out in harass and waveclear while farming more safely. And they do it (at least in vel's case) with much lower mana cost. If lux wants to compete early game, she goes oom fast. Which is again, a win for her opponents. Furthermore, you are smoking if you think lux has more burst than vel. And don't say she has more burst than xerath - xerath is a poke champ like ezreal - not a burst champ like graves or lux. Lux can do either technically, but has been styled around low cs burst combos. If she is snowballing, yes she can delete almost anyone and looks broken because of the low cd on her ability to do so. But if she is even or behind, she isn't overwhelming in the least. Xerath might not be any better from behind (I don't play him, so idk); however I can assure you vel deals more meaningful damage more easily when behind than lux does. In no way do xerath or vel need buffs. Lux could use some love, but her ult buff isn't what she needs. On the other hand, it isn't going to make her broken either.

I implied that the only reason that I mentioned Vel'Koz and Xerath was because they are artillery mages like Lux.

Lux has E which is very easy to land. Lux has a better burst combo and she has poke that is much harder to dodge. She easily wins an all in in lane and she can just dodge a majority of spells to combine those factors and win the lane. Of course, Vel'Koz does, he is better against tanks with his passive and has an ultimate to use against squishies.
