Honestly, I disagree with 1 and partially 2. Here are my reasons:
- You can't carry the traditional way because your kit lacks the damage. How is a 100% cc/utility focused champion supposed to carry? You can't rush towers. You can't tank towers. You can only hope to keep your team alive enough that they do. Your score doesn't matter unless you build damage or tank.
- You tend to remember the bad more than the good. It may be a little blown out of proportion when you see "ALL ADC ARE TOXIC" but in reality, when this happens it's because the support is either playing badly or the player is autofilled to support. If you main support (like I do), you hardly see any toxic ADC unless you do your job wrong or you do it to the point where you realize you have to actually build damage. That's when you generally get yelled at as a support.
As for the comments I've seen so far:
- They get blamed for everything.
I don't think we get blamed for everything but more of if anything happens at botlane, reguardless of whether we could do anything or not, we generally get blamed. If you're not in lane because you're roaming or at base buying, it's your fault. If you don't go in with your ally who is half health when the enemy is full HP, it's your fault. The allies tend to blame the support when the support doesn't go in to die like everyone else.
- It's always the ADC's fault, and botlane is lost because of him.
Generally, it is the ADC fault. 99% of the time, if the ADC is getting blamed, it's because they didn't provide the damage or help when the support engaged. If the ADC doesn't help with the engage when the support goes in, it's the ADC's fault, especially if they could have won. If the support doesn't go in when the ADC goes in, it's the support's fault, especially if they could have won.
It mainly just depends on if they would have won the lane if they both went in or didn't go in.
- supports can't ever be OP
Supports can be OP. The thing is, support's generally aren't considered OP because they sometimes don't have immediate impact in the game. If some champ gets a lot of kills often, that champ can be considered OP. If other champs just provide constant buffs/debuffs, they can also be considered OP. But really what it comes down to is what the buff/debuff is. Healing can be much stronger than MS and shields can be much stronger than AS buffs. Suppressions can be more OP than groundings and stuns can be more OP than stuns.
It all is up in the air generally. It's hard to tell what is OP and what is not OP unless one is specifically stronger than the other in almost all scenarios.
