Why isn't Trundle more popular?

With this being a tank meta, why isn't Trundle hugely popular right now? He is great at killing tanks and is godly with smite/teleport top.

The metasheep didnt catch on yet.

Now, why is that? Because the pros arent using Trundle. The reason for that is that in this meta, we have a buttload of CC and mobility, which Trundle hates. He was popular when we had Mundo, Shyvana, etc, because they were tanky bruisers that cant CC him, and diving in general was easier.

While Trundle is strong in this meta, he is still out-classed, because people wamt actual CC.

The community as a whole doesn't understand what counters a meta until a pro player picks whatever counters it and says spells it out for them.

Then you're apart of the bandwagon regardless.

Please don't give riot anymore ideas for their stupid "dark horses" they already revealed the secret godliness of urgot and gragas now both doomed to be nerfed don't let them find out about the wonderful thing that is trundle top in the current meta
