New Mana Related Items! [Concepts]

Hey everyone! I am just going to jump right into things, but first things first; these concepts are to create customization and options for what one wants to build in a game and create uniqueness from a game-to-game stand point and not to actually replace any existing items. Another point is that by introducing new items may introduce more champions that currently see little play to come into play, which seeing more champion and item diversity is never a bad thing... Right?

Aquatic Egg: Recipe: Sapphire Crystal (400g) + 400g = 800g

Heart of Gold: Recipe: Aquatic Egg (800g) + Targon's Brace (865g) + Sightstone (800g) + 235g = 2700g

Urchin Flippers: Recipe: Boots (325g) + 475g = 800g

Statistics: +UNIQUE Passive - Enhanced Movement: +45 Movement Speed +UNIQUE Passive - Fast Swimmer: Gain +45 Movement Speed for 1.5 seconds whenever you consume Mana; an additional 10 Mana is consumed upon Mana consumption.

Orb of Restoration: Recipe: Tear of the Goddess (720g) + Forbidden Idol (600g) + Needlessly Large Rod (1600g) + 380g = 3300g

Statistics: +120 Ability Power +250 Mana +100% Base Mana Regen +10% Cooldown Reduction +UNIQUE Passive - Mana Charge: Grants +8 maximum Mana (max +750 Mana) for each spell cast and Mana expenditure (occurs up to 2 times every 8 seconds). Transforms into Great Orb of Restoration at +750 Mana. +UNIQUE Passive: Reduce Clarity's cooldown by 50%. +UNIQUE Active - Restoration: Restore 60% Mana (150 seconds cooldown).

Great Orb of Restoration: Recipe: Orb of Restoration (3300g) + Fully Stacked Mana Charge

Statistics: +120 Ability Power +1000 Mana +100% Base Mana Regen +10% Cooldown Reduction +UNIQUE Passive: Reduce Clarity's cooldown by 50%. +UNIQUE Active - Restoration: Restore 60% Mana and reduce ability cooldowns by 80%; ultimate ability cooldown reduced by 40% (150 seconds cooldown). +UNIQUE Passive - Refresh: Dealing magic damage reduces Restoration's cooldown by 2 seconds.

Hope you all appreciate the ideas! Remember that these are meant to add customization and create more options to what one wants to do and build; none of these ideas are to replace any current item, but they are here entirely to create customization and options for players. Possibly bringing in very unique strategies and champions into the meta game as well that you have never seen before. Something to mention is that the Quenched passive along the Aquatic Egg line of items is to help out mana hungry champions like Cassiopeia, Anivia, Swain, etc without granting an item with infinite Mana sustain so that these champions can get played without feeling like they go OOM (Out of Mana) in 2 seconds; but they do not have any mana regen on the item itself so that you need to manage the costs on your spells, but when fights / skirmishes break out you can use your spells to their maximum potential without going OOM immediately.

Great orb on Karthus would be downright terrifying.

not really since karthus is meant to die in the late game and doesnt have cooldown anyways

For the Egg items, reducing energy costs is a REALLY bad thing to do. Energy users are balanced around having indefinite resource in lane, but running out after 2-3 combos (2 if they don't properly utilize their resource gain; 3 if they do. While yes, theoretically Shen could get all his energy back he'd need to land E on 4 people, which is not happening). Suddenly giving energy champions an item that makes their resource actually nonexistent is bad (this would run into the same problems chalice had of being a great item that also removed mana for almost every champion).

For Heart of Gold, I'm not sure you understand the purpose of the support items at all. Yes, Sightstone is pretty bad right now, but the solution isn't to take a perfectly fine, upgradeable support item and shoe horn a second path that diverges from it (explanation: targon's gives universal tankiness (health), has a high risk gold share, and lets you protect someone with a shield. Coin is a low risk passive gold gain, which gives more sustain, and lets you give a team wide speed boost. Spellthief's is a medium risk offense gold gain, which gives damage, and gives you a good slow + damage. Suddenly taking one of these and shoehorning a second path that diverges from its intent is bad.) In addition, this item gives MASSIVE gold both for the minion share AND the massive gold for minions dying near you. This literally functions as both the targons and coin, while being a sightstone, while also giving awesome spammability. That is way too much on one item; even more so when you add that much gold gain, resource spam, resource gain, tankiness, and infinite wards.

For Mana cost flippers, not really seeing why anyone would want to buy these. In lane, you lose even more mana then normal for no benefit except moving a bit faster (which is bad in lane. You kinda need mana to function), and out of lane spamming your spells for movement speed is going to be pretty hilarious for the enemy when you show up with half your mana gone and all your spells on cooldown. Otherwise, why? Why take this over boots of swiftness or the furor enchantment? Both of those are better in almost every way; swifties gives 60 ms constantly without extra cost, and furor gives you 12% movement speed for 2 seconds (assuming boots of mobility with the passive off for lowest speed, the BASE speed you could have is 350; this makes Furor give 42 movement speed at least on Anivia with the slowest boots in the game). Overall, just don't see why you would want boots of mana waste and slight haste.

For the orbs... "same problems chalice had of being a great item that also removed mana for almost every champion".

First, giving the item MASSIVE Ap is bad (for one, this invalidates Seraph's) when you also give it massive mana and massive mana restore. When you then add on the ability cooldown reductions... Do you not understand how this would unbalance the entire champion roster? Going to use Karthus; let's say he ults and uses this item after, then turns on E and runs into a teamfight, then Zhonyas, then uses Barrier/Seraph's. He just got ~4-7 seconds of AoE magic damage off; this translates to a max of 40-70 seconds reduced on the cooldown. After he's died, he continues Q'ing. By the time he respawned he could use this item (or probably have just waited due to the first use of it!) and instantly ult. Again. For a global almost undodgeable nuke. If you don't like Karthus as an example, take any good DoT mage; I'm sure Malzahar or Zyra or Brand would love having their ult changed into less than a 40 second cooldown, but literally no one else in that game would.

Second, why. Why do you think the game needs an item that gives the highest AP tier in the game, but also the highest mana, but also the highest mana restore, but also extreme cooldown reduction that can be used with normal cooldown reduction?

I don't think the cost reduction item will actually be viable on energy champions- but it is a nice thought allowing the option to pick up the item-- it does not make energy costs non existent especially since energy costs are relatively low cost to begin with so the % value is weaker, the costs go down as you rank up the abilities oppose to mana costs where they go up or stay neutral

the boots is an option - it can allow mages to kite or tanks to gap close - not to replace anything but allow for options

Seraph's embrace gives on average 130 AP for mages and the shield active and is 600g cheaper--- the other tear option will be slightly less AP or way less depending on mana stacking and more focused on mana sustain and reduction of cooldowns

archangel's gives the most mana and ap in the game with the shield active when it upgrades- this item is more the mana sustain side with the active

Karthus and Anivia become God-Tier

Big no form me Champs are (should be) balanced around certain strengths and weaknesses. Of course itemization should allow you to partially reduce your weaknesses, but it shouldn't allow you to completely eliminate those weaknesses and make champs that were balanced around these completely OP

these items would not make anyone op just alternatives for archangel, grail, and morellos that said it would help out very mana hungry champions like anivia out a lot and wouldn't give them infinite sustain since it doesnt give mana regen as far as the reduced cost items go

Ehm, reduce mana and energy cost (and really, why the hell would energy champ need further help with the cost of their skills when they yet have super regen on their resource -.-"?) eliminate a big weakness of champs that are kept in check by that An item resetting CD and restoring a huge amount of mana would be even worse as would make a large chunk of champs that deal huge amount of damage unkillbale (Ap bruisers/tanks with high damage getting that Great Orb of restoration...OMFG )
