And releases a "Riot Pls" about bringing back solo queue for top tiers, because they know DynaQ doesn't work, and yet still won't own up and admit they fucked up.

If you have to bring back solo queue, at ANY "level of play", that is proof that your Dynamic Queue system is fundamentally flawed.

Time to step up. Fix your ranked "experience".

Most people paying attention think ranked is a friggin' joke because of the change you made for the "better", and the fact that you have to bring solo Queue back in Diamond+ is proof that Dynamic Queue is not a viable replacement for a true competitive ranked setting.

Nobody believes rank means anything any more because you've destroyed everyone's perception of rank integrity. The "top level of play" isn't the only thing that matters. This is pathetic.

You guys fucked up. That's okay. Just stop being arrogant about it and fix the mistake instead of treating us like idiots who don't notice when you're trying to sweep it under the rug.

No matter how many times you call the boards "the vocal minority", it's still not true (something you're afraid to discover) and your players still think DynaQ is a joke. If you have to revert to Solo Queue as players climb in rank, your DynaQ system does. not. work.

I like how they bringing back solo Q only for high elo (wich are like 2% of the player base) And the rest 98% (which are milions of players) can go fuck themselfs.we dont deserve to play high quality games.

Shinjusuke29 votes

Cuz if they brought back solo queue for all ranks, they'd have to acknowledge they were fuckin' WRONG, and, as usual, the "vocal minority" they refuse to acknowledge has been telling them it's a moronic move since the beginning.

Y'know. Like almost every change the "vocal minority" has complained about for extended periods of time throughout League's history.

But nope. Rito knows all. Rito is God. Questioning Rito is blasphemy, for they work at Rito and are thus beyond reproach or error.

ShadowParker4 votes

The thing is, Riot essentially did admit that they were wrong. So at this point, you're just hating on them for admitting they were wrong.

General Esdeath 9 votes

They didn't admit they were wrong, and they still aren't giving us a solo queue. They said it's not working out in diamond.

UrPalAl1 votes

I think it has more to do with the fact that statistically speaking dynamic queue has essentially no effect in lower elo. I went from Bronze to Plat this season, and I play solo only. I understand that sometimes it can be annoying, but the VAST majority of games aren't. Riot said that ranked play with friends has dramatically increased this season, and people who previously didn't play ranked are playing it now, so I seriously doubt it'll be going away for those reasons mainly.

NoRunesMasteries1 votes

Ranked Team exists for a reason they shouldn't only be like, "Friend 1: Hey want to rank? friend 2: Sure friend 3: oh can I join? friend 1: sure let's hit dynamic queue."... Dyanmic Q is like Ranked Team BUT you don't need a team IF you're down one person...

You can have a Platinum/Gold and Bronzes player together... The Bronzes are getting elo boosted while the enemy team is playing against higher tier players likely...

UrPalAl1 votes

Right, but Riot matches the elo, so both teams are boosted animals. So it's equal. Premade vs solo win-rate is essentially equal now.

The top 2% are the pros and streamers. It makes sense that Riot wants to make them happy because they are the face and voice of League. I guess Riot figures the rest of us are just sheep and will stop complaining about DQ when they do.

I think they should only allow soloq not only for diamond but also for plat 1. This way it's far less useful to get boosted to "the maximum" since you still have to beat one division by yourself to reach the diamond milestone. I think most of the boosted players know that they don't belong in diamond and wouldn't go for the plat 1 boosting since it would be unlikely for them to ever reach diamond. Well... at least i hope so.

Of course then high plat would suffer from similar problems, but imo it wouldn't be as bad as when boosting is allowed up to diamond.

First off, I never said a number, but any is too much. Secondly, they get boosted through their friends who tell them what to do. Above gold it's not about mechanics as much as it is your tactics.

BIH Diamond1 votes

Boosting to diamond is way too hard even if its by their friends. The only way its possible is if your friend is plat and you boost him to diamond

Boosting a gold to diamond would take a lot of work.

That's why whenever I smurf I see a shit ton of boosted players in low gold and sometimes plat 5

I like how you think sarcasm, bashing, and little research will make them take your opinion as a valuable piece of community contribution.

Shinjusuke1 votes

Considering for months people have been trying to provide "valuable" pieces of community contribution, and have been asking them for actual data proving the claims that they make (which many people think are just plain made up or substantiated by horrendously biased statistics, like the "survey" Riot used to claim that DynaQ is preferred by the majority of players), there's literally no point in trying to use rational arguments with Riot anymore. There's also no point to presenting the basis for a civil debate since they won't even provide proof to substantiate the claims that they make, yet only* list "we have data" as their reasoning versus tons of basic logic or anecdotal player-provided arguments. They've already proven that unless it has to do with skins, Riot doesn't give a fuck about player opinions any more.

Hell, their top 1% of players, literally the people who keep the game alive through maintaining interest amongst the other 99%, were saying DynaQ was going to be a fucking joke since day one, and it still took Riot this long to get their heads out of their asses.

So I'm not exactly gonna feel guilty about saying "Hey, you guys fuckin' ruined it. We told you were ruining it. You know you ruined it, and this change back to solo queue is proof of that. Fucking fix it."

Lirik9 votes

i can't belive how many peoples are still misinformed and still praising riot like it was a god damn religion and they still think riot never made any mistake whatsoever in their entire life spwan.

god peoples are dumb phucks.

Arkatras3 votes

The flaw in your argument is NOT that Riot never made a mistake. The problem is generated by Riot NEVER admiting it nor fix it. (in any close future)

Lirik4 votes

i never made an argument .... wtf its a statement an a clear one.

Chamuel854 votes

haha 'won't admit they fucked up'. Looks like someone doesn't listen to pod casts from Riot then it seems. They've literally admitted multiple times that they didn't get it right. However, go ahead. Just be mad and say whatever without knowing. It's a board post after all. It wouldn't make sense if people weren't just nonsensically mad making sweeping generalizations.

Xonra11 votes

Sorry but "we missed the mark" and going full steam ahead with crappy tweaks is FAR from "we fucked up" and reverting a failed experiment.

Shinjusuke1 votes

They've admitted they didn't get it 100% right. That's not nearly the same thing as saying "we were fucking wrong, we're going to revert it until we know how to actually do it right" which they obviously have not done.

But hey, it's a board post after all. It wouldn't make sense if their wasn't some half-braindead contrarian in the comments defending Riot like they're infallible gods just to feel like he's edgy and cool for going against the common opinion.

Chamuel851 votes

haha just like someone who thinks the boards are 'common opinion'. "See I went to crazy bin and everyone agreed with me. Therefore, everyone thinks this way." Also there is a video out there were they say in the video 'we fucked that up' at least 3 times. Like I said. Go ahead and whine about it when they are admitting exactly the way you want, just not taking the same action. but hey... at least we're both brain dead. I'm just making statements that are actually true.

Shinjusuke1 votes

"Not taking the same action", continuing to do the EXACT thing they're "apologizing" for, IS the same thing as not admitting a fuckup. If they ACTUALLY believed they fucked up, they would've reverted it ages ago.

I never thought I'd actually ever encounter someone who is actually too dumb to know what PR speak is. Like holy shit dude. Way to drink the Kool-Aid. Bonus points for not understanding the basics of statistics and the concept of proportional representation.

Please, keep trying. You're legitimately making my day by making such an uninformed ass of yourself lol

If you have to bring back solo queue, at ANY "level of play", that is proof that your Dynamic Queue system is fundamentally flawed.

This is a poor argument. Something could easily fail at high ELO but work at low ELO, they are very different environments. An explanation can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/4zdw2e/riot_pls_ranked_pls_solo_q_returning/d6v0hc2

Imagine it this way: You and your friends play basketball together for 3 years. There's guaranteed to be 5 randoms that have never played together that will be able to beat you (insert Kobe, Jordan, Curry, LeBron and Magic here). There's a fine line inbetween an NBA all-star lineup, and you guys, that will be a good match.

The problem is when Kobe, Jordan, Curry, LeBron and Magic start playing together. We can't actually find them a good match, because we need to find better players to account for the coordination.

General Esdeath 3 votes

Except my team can still talk to each other in basketball. How about I play a match with 4 other random players against 4 random players of equal skill instead of the current which is Kobe wearing a mask carrying his 4 friends that only play baseball against me and 4 random friends who ignore me?

Locke Daemonfire4 votes

I'm just presenting the argument as to why they can make fair matches at low ELO and not high ELO, which justifies the double standard. If you want to argue that matches being fair is not enough, and that they should also be equal (across all 10 players), that's a matter of opinion. I don't really want to argue over opinions.

Since when does artificially balanced winrates = fairness?

Do the Chicago Bulls swap out decent players if they're facing a lower tier team?

The entire concept is stupid beyond imagation and there is no proper justification for it.

Not really relevant, but if you want a good match, sure. It would be another type of handicap.

That's probably good enough to make up for one lousy season.

The opinion disparity is still representative, just on a smaller scale.

If 1% of the boards votes on a poll about DynQ and 87% of them vote that DynQ is garbage, its still a big factor to weigh in. But Rito would rather silence us by saying we are ''just a minority''.

They have Zero fucking transparency when it comes to statistics, and everybody knows its because they don't have the balls to admit the stats are being padded so that they come out like truth tellers.

I hate my ADC3 votes

"Opinion disparity" are the right words here. The opinions of the people on the board are different than the opinions of the entire league community as a whole.

If you give out a poll for every Texan to fill out regarding the overall state of the united states but don't give that poll to any other state, do you seriously expect to have reliable data from that poll?

The opinions on the boards are important, but they aren't representative at all. Anyone who's done the most basic statistics course knows that you can't get anything accurate from a biased sample size. Because yes, the boards are biased. Tell me, how many people do you think come on the boards only to complain about something? How many people post on the boards just to get the approval of other people without actually caring for what's good or not for the game?

Why would a company ever be transparent about their statistics? That's like the government being transparent about... well anything. You avoid giving information that can, and will, be misinterpreted by the masses. If you read any of their posts, you can clearly see they are super evasive all the time. Using sentences like "failing to meet many of your needs.". How many of our needs? Which ones? They won't tell us that because then you have people creating threads, picking on every single word that could potentially justify their whining, no matter how much of a fallacy it can be.

BIH Diamond3 votes

The opinions of the people on the board are different than the opinions of the entire league community as a whole.

Why do you think Riot doesn't put a poll on the client for everyone if their opinions are so obviously different?

Shinjusuke1 votes

Oh no, they've got no problem putting a poll on the client.

The poll is just going to ask bullshit loaded questions that obviously favor Riot's side, like "Do you enjoy playing ranked with friends?".

Cuz unbiased statistics apparently don't matter to Riot as long as they get the answer they wanted.

FioraWillCarry3 votes

Diamond is where people actually know how to play. Of course it makes sense they would give special consideration to them on this matter. You think it really makes a difference if a bunch of B5 players were on Skype in a premade. Even a lowly Silver player like me would still stomp the shit out of them solo. DQ only helps low elo players be bad together, and that includes myself.

Get over it guys. DQ was a success for the most part. It's a team game and people like being able to play ranked games with their friends.

Nice ad hominem bro, way to provide rational and reasonable counterarguments to a valid complaint.

For the record, people using DQ as a "scapegoat for bads" doesn't magically make the DQ system NOT a fundamentally flawed ranking system that completely fucks any sense of ranked integrity.

But I know actually making relevant arguments is hard. Wanna insult my mom next or something? I'm sure that'd prove you know what you're talking about.
