Galio needs significant nerfs

I long said way before this champ came out , that he would be broken little to no surprise he takes over old Nautilus top lane spot in the LCS. (and it was cancer.) but not as stupid as this champion right now.. we alll know what he does and we all know hes overtuned right now so lets get into the nerfs..

Total Tornado Magic Damage: 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 (+ 45% AP) (+ 6% of target's maximum health)

^^ First and foremost why does a "warden" have an attack that deals 6% of the targets maximum HP??? remove this shit hes not Poppy wtf

Poppy <-- a previous balance nightmare but you know what? that Q of hers is actually balanced due to the very short range and hit box it has for the HP % dmg that kicks in. Also she cant particularly zone with her Q like Galio can.

Damage Reduction: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% (+ 8% per 100 bonus magic resistance)

^^ Cut the bonus from 8% to 5% per 100 bonus MR..

Now lastly as for his mana management currently 400 – 1080 levels 1 - 18 i would like to suggest you strip 20 base mana from level 1 and strip 60 at level 18 so 400 - 1080 to 380 - 1020 something like that. Also hit his mana regen too on the later scale currently 7 – 18.9 lower the end mark to 17 flat. That is all.

Poppy, Galio, Shen, and Tahm Kench are all Wardens with %max health damage. That's actually not uncommon amongst tanks nowadays.

The Doran ring stacking is getting nerfed next patch so that will probably take a dent in his lane without hitting his actual mana costs.

I think those champions you listed just have the kits to justify having that damage but that's just my opinion.

Also consider that Galio's Q is basically his only damage ability (people don't consider his E for damage) that he has control over.

Because of that I max W 2nd for the damage reduction.

^^ First and foremost why does a "warden" have an attack that deals 6% of the targets maximum HP???

It only deals 6% of the target's maximum HP if they stand inside the cyclone for all 3 ticks of the spell. Each individual tick only deals 2% of the target's maximum HP.

Aside from that, I've played the new Galio enough to know that he definiltey needs some minor nerfs but not huge ones.

his base kit is fine, but his Ult needs a hard nerf on all parts.

For the range he is able to use it, the AoE is too big, the knockup too long, and the Damage reduction too high.

I could see a reduction of the knock up.

Honestly the range feels really small to me. Course I'm used to Sion ult range.

Galio is a problem because of Dring stacking making him able to spam his Q without punishment and gain decent damage from it

with Dring stack removed he should fall into place, i'd wait till the patch after that to seen if galio directly needs changes

The difference between Galio and Poppy is that Galio's abilities are all majorly broadcasted. His E is bad for escaping because he can jump back into the enemy to body block + because he jumps back it's easy for you to quickly move to the side to avoid it if he uses it to engage onto you (due to his flash being down). His taunt, while he can insta-pop it, is majorly only good when pre-charged. So if Galio is pre-charging, get out of his flash range so he can't flash-full taunt you into his combo. Lastly, his Q. His Q is super easy to avoid the main damage of. He launches Q, you move to one of the sides or forward if he is trying to use it for zoning. He doesn't have much damage outside of this single spell, even with his passive.

The main problem with Galio is the playerbase not understanding how to actually lane against him, so they get the same syndrome they do vs a Yasuo as a result. Knowing his numbers is one thing, using his mechanics against him is anther, and those mechanics are the way you beat him.
