I Need Advice on Jungling

Bent Pixels··1 votes·576 views

Alright so I am a Shyvana player, and up until about 2 days ago I decided to try Shyvana as a jungler (previously I played lanes, usually top, with her), and it turns out that I am awful with it. Like, I must be missing something, because I can always start off (i think) the right way (I get refillable potions and hunters machete, and my starting route is red buff, wolves*, gromp/krugs depending on which side i spawn, and blue buff*. I then kill the raptors and at least one scuttler, then i recall to get hunters tailsman, a dagger, and to refill my potions), but after that start i just dont know what to do next. Do i invade the other jungle and take down camps? Do i just chill in my own jungle and gank whenever possible? Do i go for a Drake? I just don't know what to do. I was able to get to to Mastery 7 with Shyvana as a laner and it got a little boring to say the least so i tried to jungle as soon as i start doing that I always go negative in my games and have been on a 5 game losing streak or something like that. I mean it could just be me with shitty teammates or opponents who were in like diamond division last season or whatever. Can someone please help me out here? THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE

You basically try to steal as much as you can pre 6. Try to duel them, take objectives and win through global gold. She has a hard time ganking, but if you farm effectively you can just blow up bot lane at 6 easy.

Okay thank you for the information but I’m still not set on how exactly I efficiently farm. Do I just continuously kill every monster in the jungle as soon as the spawn? If you play jungle then please let me know your main route or something. Anything helps

when laners back clear the waves if they are not close, scuttles are great to kill too dont forget about those

With shyv, try to watch the map. But you can counter jungle hard also. She can out duel pretty much any jungler early, but if you get collapsed on its gg because she cant really get out of a bad bind.

For clears I generally just do buffs and AOE camps at first (Blue, wolf, birds, red, rocks or Red, birds, wolfs, Blue, Gromp), I generally get talisman because it gives more damage, and for skills I go E, W, Q, W. Unless I am greendy then I go E, W, W, Q, then finish maxing W.

Items I go item 1419 item 3022 , boots depend if they have lots of CC or AA. Then for next items generally you want something tanky item 3065 item 3075 item 3143 item 3742 , but item 3748 also works wonders if you need more damage.

jungle is a very complex role for the fact it is all map awareness and no 2 games will be the same, you have to work on playing around the enemy jungler, pay attention to your map, if you see their jungler ganking bot lane and you are top side, go to his jungle and counter, look for ganks, if you see he is top side and you are bot side and the enemy bot lane is missing you can call for a drag. buy control wards every back if possible and use them for ganks or choke points on the map to spot the enemy jungler, when the enemy jungler is spotted see if he has buffs, if not check the timer and see if it is up, analyze your matchup and know if you can fight the enemy jungler or if he beats you, adjust your builds accordingly to the matchups, if the other team has a lot of cc get MR boots, if they have a heavy ad or heavy auto attack comp get ninja tabi. call for drags when the enemy jungler is top side and the appropriate way to do so is to look for a gank mid or bot if you get a kill or force backs. call drag and you then know one of the laners as well as the jungler cant contest. i also recommend using pro builds. goodluck

Your runes are not optimal. Press the attack is perfectly fine but you want to go Resolve as your secondary runes with Conditioning and Overgrowth or optionally Domination with Ravenous Hunter and another rune of your choice. Even Inspiration second is better than Sorcery. So stop doing that > You've improved. Congratulation

You also need to work on buying the right items. I assume this is just a general lack of knowledge on your part but checking websites like probuilds.net will fix that. For example your last game: You were up against 3 autoattacking champions (Yasuo, Ashe, Xin Zhao) and you went Boots of Swiftness. Ninja Tabi would have been way more useful. Blue smite is worse then red smite. So always go red smite.

Jungle Route. Based on which Team you're on always start with the buff on your botside (Blue team -> Red buff; Red team blue buff). After your first buff you clear one small camp (preferably wolves/chickens) and then the other buff. You'll hit level 3 with that and you should look for a gank or counter jungle. By going base after a few camps early you'll lose a lot of time and power, especially since you don't have enough gold to buy anything useful. Go steal a buff, a kill or even an assist will be enough to get you the red jungle item

You also seem to max your Q first. That is a no no. You want to max W first, then E and Q last. Maxing Q first is complete ass

only thing i dont agree on is that he says you should start w and do raports as your first camp. start e and start 1 of the buffs IMO (pro's seem to do this aswell) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keRl6ugSrK0

Tenacity is a garbage rune. There's no reason to take it given all of the hard CC in the game.

When and if Riot revisits tenacity and balances it around hard CC, it may or may not become a viable option

For Attack Speed jungle, you want Alacrity. ALWAYS Alacrity.

Your other runes should be focused around movement speed. Shyvana needs to run at her targets to close the gap and to prevent kiting.

Celerity and Waterwalking

Magical Footwear and Cosmic Insight

OR if you want additional sustain.

Taste of Blood and Ravenous Hunter

These are the preferred runes according to op.gg

You also need to rush Frozen Mallet on Shyv soon as you finish your jungle item and I don't know what you think you are accomplishing by not taking flash but...ALWAYS take flash on Shyvana. ALWAYS!

Yasuo Vayne LeeSin JarvanIV Azir Malzahar Orianna Tristana Kalista Thresh Alistar Blitzcrank Janna

So much hard CC from the most popular champions in the game.

It's almost like its situational and you should only take it when they have cc or something. Wow. If only riot implemented dynamic runes that you can change in champ select.
