Most Tryndameres are splitpushers because teamfights punish them

SnowFall··101 votes·4,259 views

In poke wars, lose fury and be useless In initiation, apply a mediocre unreliable slow and hope for the best In focus, get cc-ed and do only 10% of the damage you were expecting to do

This is a champion that is build around cowardly strategy of hit and run, fighting jungle monsters just to regain his health and having only a few of his highlights only during his ult as a rule. This is a champion that is in dire need of rework. I can see an identity of WW (valuable target picker). I can't see the identity and the point of Tryndamere.

tryndamere is the ultimate tank though, no tank would last 5 seconds in a team fight

Only Play Darius4 votes

Except tanks apply strong CC. Any competent team will burst his hp, save the cc for his ult, and ignore him.

Technically this is in the gameplay board so him treating your comment as real is completely justifiable

(er, it wasn't my comment)

That was blatant sarcasm, though. Everyone knows Tryndamere builds full glass cannon...

juju adventures7 votes

Indeed. Tryndamere is the only champion in THE GAME with a chance of lasting for more than 5 seconds against a fed vayne.

? Zonya's 2.5 sec + ult 2.5 sec = 5 sec?

It takes some time to drop that health.

Tryndamere really does just fail his theme in every way possible

Except the not dying part. Most of the time.

Depends on how good you are at hitting R in time. There is a reason i don't play Trynd.

Kyunsei1 votes

What's the sense of countering a champion who's not supposed to die with burst damage ? That should never happen.

That's why I would like to see his ultimate be a passive ability.

XeroKimo1 votes

I don't know, dps doesn't seem to work on him either.

TotalJerk2 votes

Thematically speaking it would make more sense for Tryndamere and Olaf to trade ults. The problem is that it would make Tryndamere a broken diver and make Olaf shit.

PureUtterCancer2 votes

Olaf certainly does seem to fit the overall idea of tryndamere's lore theme than trynd himself does.

WalkingInACircle7 votes

He needs a new sound effect. Something that let's him scream "COOOOOOWWAAARRRRRDDSS" whenever he runs away.

TequilaZombie1 votes

Sion approves.

Critkeeper7 votes

he needs a strong anti-focus tool on his w, not a slow and attack damage reducer.

basically, if he his ultimate is his only effective means of losing aggro in a team fight, he will always be a binary 5 second champion and he can never be balanced, especially not in a team fight.

his w should be a block or something, so he can stop the enemy from focusing him without being forced to use his ult. I don't think he should be able to attack people at the same time though, since thats the point of his ultimate.

needs to be like a self-rooting channeled directional block that prevents him from turning but makes him ignore all cc and damage originating 180 degrees in front of him or something.

BoundaryBreaker1 votes

so a directional fiora riposte?

Critkeeper1 votes

{quoted}

so a directional fiora riposte?

Yeah, but without the return damage or cc, and like you said only from one direction.

On the plus side it would just be a channeled ability, (probably with a maximum channel time)

SpecterVonBaren1 votes

What if we made it a Deadman's Volley and have him knock projectiles back at the enemy? (Coding and clarity wise they could have it so it blocks a projectile and then sends out its own projectile so that we don't have him block a Nami wave and send back his own wave) It could even have ranks improve how much power is sent back from like 50% of the power up to 100%.

TequilaZombie1 votes

Something like Androxus from Paladins. Absorbs a certain amount of damage from a set direction and retaliates based on damage absorbed.

Kyunsei1 votes

He could also completely lose the slow aspect of his w.

What if w would apply a mark instead of the slow, when you AA someone marked he get stun for 1sec ?

Also his passive really need to be switched with his ultimate and tune numbers for his early game.

Toastersaot7 votes

He needs rework IMO. RNG just isn't that healthy, and his split pushing is countered by a well organized team at the pro level, but is OP at Bronze/Silver.

Akenero4 votes

He fits his split pushing strategy because he is PERFECT for it, you try to duel him alone and you die unless you are crazy fed. So you need at least 2 to kill him, letting your team fight the 4v3. Is he effective right now? No, I stopped using him because he has no fallback patterns.

Spicy Rice16 votes

I stopped using him because people don't understand how they are supposed to play with a splitpusher on their team

That, or forcing 4v5 teamfights all the time

That's his job and strategy though. If you want more of a juggernaut who can do well in teamfights, play Olaf. Tryndameres kit is to win 1 v 1 fights and take towers quickly. Please don't take that away from us.

ZeeWolfZ3 votes

shut up.

I don't want to see tryndameres.

try item 3140 on Tryn. Dive their ADC(he's kind of assassin-diver-tank in teamfight, except that he is rediculously easy to kite and peel from). Use item 3142 , blow summoner 4 , do everything to kill the damn ADC. the -80 AD reduction + slow does wonders.

All in all, Tryn is better version of Aatrox(except without hard CC) for me.

If mongpushing had a different name it would be Tryndamere, the ultimate pve champ.

PureUtterCancer2 votes

See 0 dmg tryndamere lol

Saevum2 votes

He also is a bad composition penalizer. However, with each new champ arriving, and with loaded kits, yea, hes fading away each champ patch. No longer fulfilling the 'terror' apparition.

What if he could generate fury from taking damage too? Would that buff his teamfight potential?

it wouldn't make a difference because his ultimate gives him a large amount of fury anyway

his issue is that he can't survive a sneeze without his ult

Would make him too strong early, no way to deal with him.

He hits minions while you play passive? He gets full fury -> lots of crit chance

You hit him? He gets fury -> lots of crit chance.

Revali1 votes

He's a BARBARIAN KING

he should be a guy that goes in, takes a beating, dishes out a beating, and thrives in the thick of combat like they tried to do with olaf.

Zelorxon1 votes

WOW, it's almost like tryndamere is meant to win in 1v1s, ignore fights and splitpush all day long... Pretty weird uh? Illuminati confirmed? Have an ubpoat.

Noblewind1 votes

2 buttons: autoattack, and R. This champion is a one trick pony within his own kit as an auto attack, PVE bot.

He doesn't even excel at 1v1's, he excels at cheese. What I mean is his kit is generally 100% feast or famine and when you die to him you don't feel outplayed, much like old 100 to 0 assassins. You either destroy him and turn him into a champ that ults and die to get turrets lower each push, or get steamrolled like youre playing against a nasus that's been able to free farm stacks for 10mins

SanKakU1 votes

They should make his healing with Q also scale with MR, not just AP. And they can make the duration of his ultimate scale ever so slightly with armor. There, now people can build him as a tank and have lots of success with it. His W technically empowers the defensive stats of any tanks in his team...would be great if he was a tank as well. Oh yeah, while you're at it, let his W affect the enemies' AP too, not just AD. Now you have a flexible champion, and all you did was add some functionality and add some alternative stats scaling.

JhomasTefferson2 votes

so a tank assassin with built in sustain?

This is a champion that is in dire need of rework. I can see an identity of WW (valuable target picker). I can't see the identity and the point of Tryndamere.

He does need a rework, but he has a fairly obvious identity imo.

If you(and/or your team) can get him into the enemy backline, and preferably protect him from too much cc, he's going to kill the enemy.

It's a bit like the inverse of Olaf. Olaf has a very easy time reaching the backline, and doesn't care at all about cc. However, if he can be dps-raced by the enemy team, he's not going to get his job done.

Of course, even with these differences Tryndamere and Olaf's (and Jax's, and some other champions) teamfight play tends to be very similar, which can make the whole thing kinda meh, as you don't feel all that unique.

Standgrounding1 votes

I suggest making Tryn's E a knock-aside(Draven E or Corki Passive-W ish), which temporary snares enemies(kind of cuts their legs, but slow would make no sense because he already has one). That would make Tryn a good isolator or separator in teamfights(think of Anivia W and Tallyah R) and add an extra skill cap. Bye Bye RightClickMere. His R should also give him 80% tenacity(might have exagarrated that), to reduce potency and duration of slows and stuns.

That would be good for his rework IMHO.
