Remove champion shards from hextech chests

We already have enough of those from level-up capsules. Please actually give us a somewhat reliable way to get Orange Essence if you're going to nerf all of the OE values.

Agreed, i'd rather get OE or even a flippin ward skin. Tired of getting keys only to open chest and getting a 4th champion shard for like morgana or something. I own all the champions I don't want anymore shards when i'm already getting more than I need from leveling up.

You're doing events more that give BE You have the daily that gives BE and champion capsules through leveling.

Give it a rest already choking on BE here

Agree with this 100%. I have 100 of the 144 champs, many of the ones i dont have ive tried and didnt like and we already earn enough blue essence to buy champs we do want in a timely manner, dont give us stuff that is valued in blue essence in chests it just feels bad.

as someone who doesn't have any accounts older than 2 months.. pls no. i need those. i only play expensive champs (4800+) and it takes so got dang long just to get one

Ok but if you dont play a lot/are new to the game/dont have any old accounts then why should you be able to get a lot of BE? The point of BE is to be earned by playing.

who knows, but i'd rather be able to get my 4-5 champs fast, THEN waste BE on 450s than only be allowed to play one of my champs for months. i know i'm probably unique in this regard, but i honestly do not care for skins whatsoever. they're a waste of time and money

The point of this thread is to make it so that you can get skins easier without money or time, lol.

League has been a Play to Progress game ever since they launched their Closed Alpha, The Hextech crafting system is their way of rewarding players for the time they spent playing League over their competitors. It makes absolute sense to remove champion shards from Hextech Chests because of the change from IP to BE Champions have become much more easier to obtain through BE than IP. To top it off Riot never shut off the bonus XP from playing in parties so find some friends and play some games with them you'll level up and gain capsules much quicker.

TL;DR Hextech chests are for those players willing to spend time and energy into the game, IE Loyal Customers (or Addicted Slaves if you look at it from the Community Perspective)

You do though. First win of the day is 50 BE, and the chests are now guaranteed to have at least one of either 3150+ champ shards or 4800+ champ shards.

Never Fear, there's supposedly something in the works. About a month ago, Cactopus mentioned that a new type of Hextech Crafting item would be available for purchase that only contains Cosmetic Items such as Skins, Ward Skins, Emotes & Orange Essence.

What puzzles me is that it says the Target Patch is 8.7 which also coincidentally happens to be the Irelia Relaunch Patch. The last I checked, the Masterwork Chests aren't on PBE as of right now & it makes me wonder if they were pushed back in favor of getting ready for the Mid-Season patch.

They're not completely implemented but someone did find a Masterwork chest icon from data mining the PBE so if it isn't this upcoming patch, it's the next.

I agree with this. I am actually used to only getting champion shards, but I just used keys that I've been saving for a week plus the ones I just got from my check point to open that chest from missions (still have 3 left lol). Gave me the spooky scary emote (which I don't care really about emotes). I don't care about getting Emotes in my chests if I could disenchant them. I almost wish skin shards weren't instantly unlocked as well. Sometimes I rr 3 skin shards and get a crappy one (ok this is always the case. I don't think I've ever rerolled and gotten a skin I wanted). I would love to be able to have a chance to reroll them again.

With how long it takes to get keys and especially keys you get from like an honor shard, it's a pretty big let down to get something you don't want (which is fine), but don't have the option whether to make it permanent or have the ability to disenchant it to at least get any sort of value you would want out of it.

I don't think they should remove champs entirely from chests, but instead make them only give you full champions, and champions that you do not already own.

Riot doesn't have to give us orange essence at all, you guys realize that riot is giving us free skins that we could be paying for, but they're kind enough to let us get some for free every now and then. I'm fine with getting some extra blue essence every few chests because i know that riot is gonna make money if they just let us have hundreds of free skins.

Ah, the good old "its free so its fine" argument. We meet again. Hextech chests are meant to be a source of cosmetics, champ capsules are meant to offer champs and BE. It has nothing to do with it "being free".

No, the STORE is supposed to be your main source for cosmetics. Hextech chests are a little gimmik that allows you to get some cosmetics for free.

The store is also a source of champs but im not talking about the store. Im talking about the "lootbox" system and how its divided, the capsules give you BE and champs and the chests are supposed to give cosmetics.

I feel your pain on this mate.

But after last year when I heard that Riot plans to make more items buyable with blue essence I've been crushing my champion shards for blue essence.

I haven't been able to play league much due to a crashing bug for the past month but I'm standing at around 104k BE.

I already got URFwick which I'm proud to have in my skin collection.

I just like farming essence sorry mate.

Literally only upgrading champion shards. Not even buying champs. Haven't spent BE on anything. I missed out on the rune stuff (but also i didnt have to pay shitloads for em).

I kinda started playing s6 and so im like, the newest player that hit the new level system.

So I'm high level but still have less than half the level 30's.

New system is great tho, getting champs fast.

I kinda like them cause they give me a chance to save on BE for mastery. Mastery is so expensive now that I LOVE getting shards to use instead. Still waiting for my evelynn shard though.....

I own all champs and have almost 180k BE and getting champ shards non stop and more BE is ridiculous especially from milestone or higher tier rewards. IT's sad that you're supposed to get rare loot but get either 90-250 be and or a single champ shard. I just got last night the last honor orb from final tier 4 honor. I got 250 or so BE and 1 champ shard.

The hextech chests have on a few occasions given me either a few OE or even an occasional skin shard. But almost always there's nothing in them but champ shards and BE. I understand them wanting to preserve RP purchases but after the OE nerf the drop rates and loot tables really need to be fixed.
