Not only is this swain rework an abomination, its a rip off another character.

I wouldn't even say rework, its a completely new champion in lore and gameplay. Also he is literally just fenmore in dawngate, the only difference is that fenmore has a useful w that disables slows and roots and boosts speed while swain's w is just an ashe e. The rest of his abilities and passives are swapped around but essentially the same thing.

He's also unplayable trash, no reason to play him at all, might as well abuse broken vlad who has been broken forever and not reworked and has literally been just a better version of swain.

If by basically the same thing you mean that they're abilities or champions in mobas. Sure. I can see that. They even both do damage as well. Lucian E and Tristana E are almost the same too, same with Tristana R and Poppy R.

It would be cool if ashe's e could deal damage and slow targets.

I had no idea what Dawngate was, who Fenmore was before this post. the similarities are, rips out souls (even then the function of the souls are different), e goes out and returns, ult does aoe around them. Other than that they seem quite different.

Swain's passive deals with souls like Fenmore's W, but it gives swain health, not a shield. Don't know how Swain's Q is similar to anything Fenmore does.

Swain's w is an aoe damage and slow with a long range, quite useful and if you learn how to use it in swain's combo, even more useful, saying that this ability is useless is just odd. Again, another ability that I don't see any similarities to anything Fenmore does.

Swain's e is similar to Fenmore's e. Probably got inspiration from it maybe, but they serve different function all together. Swain roots and Fenmore gets health back if he catches the wolf.

The ults are similar, but Swain's new ult is similar to his old one anyway. If anything Fenmore took inspiration from Swain's old ult as Swain came out years before Fenmore.

Verdict: Some inspiration may or may not have been taken, but they seem to play vastly different and theme of the characters seem vastly different Although similarities are there it's not anywhere close enough to be called a rip off.

I'm not seeing it and that's not the only difference. Dawngate did not invent the concept of the boomerang. On the same note, things like DoT in an area around a character is hardly original, not nearly complex a concept enough to call copying, let alone a rip off.

"while swain's w is just an ashe e." Literally not true at all.

Also, Swain doesn't have a shield.

I like new swain. Feel he will be strong. Vlad Literally has no hard CC, cant scout. Not a better version of this swain. sounds like your mistake is trying to drain tank mage him. Don't, battle mage it mate.

The point of a rework this size is essentially take the same character and create it from the ground up as if it was created today. If that makes sense to you.
