varus buff

really varus is the weakest adc you need to build static and runaans on him to live and kill peeps there is no ? about that. How ever with this recent change to his ult making it weaker but applying stacks of his w i liek to go ap with him and people think im trolling then i start 2 shotting anyone they dont complain, when i did go ad build there was several times i was like if i had went ap i wouldve and multple quad kills like nothing . but owell he needs to gain more range or better attack speed per lvl or get rid of the damage reduction on his q . i mean tfs q has no damage reduction and thats instant cast and goes in 3 directions hell it wouldnt be to much to ask to get rid of the piercing damage reduction on his q would it i mean A you have to stand still have no movement speed B you have to aim it

tbh varus feels fine if not on the strong side. the ER changes REALLY helped him.

the only thing they did was decrease the damage on his ult and make it proc 3 stacks of W. this makes him ap alot stronger i myself prefer to go ap over ad any day of the week i mean your really really strong once you get some core itmes

I wouldn't really recommend Statikk Shiv or Runaan's Hurricane on him.

I've been using more of caster-based build for poke/siege:

item 3006, item 3508, item 3094, item 3072 or item 3139 , item 3036 or item 3142

i havent tried it but i guess thats how varus has to be played ad wise but ap varus is very strong people just dont give it a chance . 3 stacks w ult e 3 stacks q bam dead . would you get manamune? or would a ez bluebuild be appropriate ?

AP Varus can be quite strong, especially after the ultimate buff, but it's not my preferred playstyle.

I prefer AD Varus due to his poke, waveclear, and sustained damage in fights.

Essence Reaver provides a significant amount of CDR and mana regeneration, enabling me to poke frequently.

Rapid Fire Cannon provides the crit chance for 20% CDR from Essence Reaver, sustained damage, and poke (additional range and on-hit damage). This is quite useful for harassing opponents during sieges.

Bloodthirster provides a shield to mitigate poke during a siege and sustain during/after fights. Mercurial Scimitar is a good alternative if the enemy team can lock you down with CC.

Lord Dominik's Regard and Youmuu's Ghostblade both provide armor penetration, one focused on tanks and one focused on squishies. Ghostblade's active is especially useful to provide additional mobility during chases or escapes, especially since Varus is immobile.

I'm not sure if I would recommend Manamune anymore. Games end far earlier and Varus was never the quickest stacker for Tear of the Goddess.

In addition, the removal of crit chance from Youmuu's Ghostblade, the separation of Brutalizer, and the alterations to Last Whisper have affected his build. It is now harder for AD Varus to scale without Crit Chance or Attack Speed, which are now more difficult for him to purchase.

his wave clear is 10 fold better ap then ad. lol for shyts and giggles i went blue build ez on him just for kicks it was kinda fiunny

I think this might be troll? O.o

Love dat AP Varus doe! :D

he is liek the only adc that didnt get a buff i mean yah sure his ult procing his w with 3 tacks is good if your going ap

Olath Quortek1 votes

Shrug... The blight is effective regardless of what your building. More or less a buff; certainly against diving bruisers and tanks. And honestly he didn't need a buff because he does what he is supposed to do and is effective at it. His "need of a buff" stems purely from his design weaknesses but his strengths easily outweigh the weaknesses when played right.

sure i went top and raped a mundo i can do well top if no one dives which there is very few people who can dive. mundo ran to me activated his ult i threqw e down and stood in it and killed him. i have to run 20=% starting attack speed with out mastery tree which sure is another 4% but still with no attack speed he is looking grimm and relying soly on q isnt the greatest thing either. but yes i lke the ap better then going ad

Once again I'm still just not sure... :/

AP Varus ftw! ;)

ap is better late game once u have core items lol. nashors , boots either beserker greaves or cd boots, rage bladea nd runaans . 3 basics then ult then q or e

Don't get me wrong here. I'm not arguing against AP Varus. AP is my favorite way to build him but it is neither better nor worse than full ad caster there is just different emphasis on strengths and weaknesses.

Full Caster Varus: item 3042 item 3158 item 3142 item 3812 item 3036 item 3026 very heavily emphasizes his long range poke with Q, using Muramana and Ghostblade to give him short bursts of damage in a mid range fight.

Traditional ADC Varus:item 3508 item 3006 item 3094 item 3072 item 3033 item 3026 loses out on some poke but gains better general mid-to-close-range combat stats.

AP Varus:item 3006 item 3115 item 3146 item 3100 item 3135 item 3089 loses out on nearly all long range poke to heavily emphasize triple-auto > ability cadence and massive health shred.

All of these builds are variable obviously and simply use my preferences as examples but they do a fair job of showing the difference in build focus/emphasis of strength vs weakness. Good luck to ya. ;)

trade out void staff for runaans and hextech or deathcap for rageblade more efficient that way more attack speed and can triple stack whole team better, when i adc varus i get hourglass instead of ga gain more damage and your not losing anything

Olath Quortek1 votes

You do you bro and I'll do me... Honestly just not looking to give advice or take it... I understand why you build what you build, I just prefer the sustain and single target burst that my build gives me. And honestly I've been forgoing both GA or Hourglass in favor of another AD item anyways... XD

khorney1 votes

mine is more of a standard attack speed ap build i just dont care for pent since your damage is % hp. lol and i would sell boots for zephyr in my adc build lol but i get hourglass instead of ga always on him. it works on adc who has good ap scaling kog ez mf . reason i get runaans cause i get cd boots instead of beserker greaves and i came a many a time when if i was ap i wouldve had easy quads or pentas .

Olath Quortek1 votes

See? That's why I'm still just not sure... "shakes head"

Do you actually want me to explain my build? O.o

khorney1 votes

i know hwat your build is mine is more attack speed really isnt affected by cds to much becuase of the constant damage my w does. reason i dont use void staff is becuase % hp damage im not concerned about peopel building mr. i mean sure hextech you get the sustain and void staff sure the % magic pent. try my build and see what it does im not trolling it is geared toward people who can do on hit magic damage liek teemo tf ori, kog dont hate till you try it

Mmm... I have come to a conclusion!

Good luck on the Rift friend! ;)

The Blight stack building up on Ultimate helps a real lot with initiation. The only change he needs is a more reliable passive.

khorney1 votes

agreed passive is kinda useless tbh its good for attacking turrets lol
