Aatrox Rework

Passive: Pain and Suffering -- Instead of mana, Aatrox has a Bloodwell which can be filled by two distinct resources Pain and Suffering whose combined total cannot exceed (25/30/45/55)% of his maximum health. Aatrox gains 1% Attack speed for ever (insert balanced number here) total points in his Bloodwell.

Pain - Every time Aatrox expends health to cast an ability, he generates an amount of Pain equal to the health expended. After failing to damage an enemy champion, minion, or neutral monster Aatrox loses 5% of his current Pain for every second he continues to not damage an enemy champion, minion, or neutral monster.

Suffering - Every time Aatrox takes damage from an enemy champion or epic monster, he gains (15/20/25/25)% of that pre-mitigated damage as Suffering. After failing to damage or take damage from an enemy champion or epic monster for 4 seconds, Aatrox loses 5% of his current Suffering for every second he continues to not damage or be damaged by an enemy champion or epic monster

Unleashed - Anytime Aatrox takes lethal damage, the full might of the Darkin is released, slowing all enemies within 550 units by 45%. Aatrox then revives, removing all grievous wounds and becoming untargetable before consuming his Bloodwell and healing for an equal amount. At the end of the revive, Aatrox release a howl of rage, recovering 25% of the expended Pain and Suffering for each enemy champion hit. After Unleashed is used, it goes on cooldown for 30 seconds or until out of combat.

Q: Dark Flight -- Aatrox leaps into the air, spending 2% oh his max health, before slamming down at a target area, dealing 10 / 35 / 60 / 95 / 120 (+ 110% AD) Physical damage to all targets and knocking them out of the area. If this ability hits an enemy champion Aatrox heals for 3% of his max health.

W: Blood Thirst/Blood Price -- Aatrox concentrates his Darkin energies to suit his needs, either paying his life to kill others, or healing massively from attacking them. At anytime, Aatrox may toggle between either option. However, every 5 seconds, the casting of this ability will reset Aatrox’s auto attack timer.

Blood Thirst - Every Third auto attack, Aatrox heals himself for 30/45/60/75/90 (+6.5% missing health). If Aatrox kills a neutral monster or enemy champion while Blood Thirst is toggled on, this effect also procs, without resetting the 3 attack requirement.

Blood Price - On Every auto attack Aatrox takes 1% of his own max health as magic damage, with the pre-mitigation value being what is gained as Pain. These attacks deal 45/80/115/150/185 (+75% bonus AD). Aatrox gains an additional .5% of his max health as Pain for every unit killed while Blood Price is active. E: Ethereal Strike -- By sheer force of will, the Darkin extends its presence, attacking a target, applying all on-hit effects and granting Aatrox Ethereal Stride during which Aatrox gains 10/20/30/40/50 (+15%) movement speed and is ghosted. If Ethereal Strike kills its target, the cooldown becomes .5 seconds and instead grants a stacking form Ethereal Stride which is otherwise identical.

R: Massacre -- Aatrox releases an explosion of draining magic, dealing 200/300/400 (+100% AP) Magic damage to all targets hit. Aatrox’s Bloodwell limit is removed and instantly grants him equal amounts of Pain and Suffering, each being half of the total damage dealt. For the next 3 seconds, Aatrox deals 10/15/20% of bonus AD as physical damage on all attacks and abilities as well as gaining 35% movement speed. At the end of 3 seconds, Aatrox’s Bloodwell cap is restored, dealing magic damage evenly distributed to all targets initially hit by Massacre equal to the amount by which Aatrox exceeded his cap when Massacre ended. Aatrox then take 500+(100%Maximum Health) Pure Damage.

Playstyle Objectives

I designed this with the idea in mind of Aatrox becoming a bruiser carry. This Aatrox above is designed do probably not win lane, but become both more dangerous and harder to kill as he rapidly begins closing down objectives and side lanes before forcing large fights where he can utilize his ult to maximum potential. Still lacking the means to truly 1v5, Aatrox is intended to be the ultimate in dive comp top laners and the most powerful counter to ranged top laners and poke champs.

Early Game- Aatrox is weak, his only real CC and mainform of engage/disengage is his Q which is a very high risk at this point. He lacks any serious health boons to utilize his passive seriously but his base attack speed and damages are very low because of his insane scaling. For now Aatrox must farm, and gain some durability to allow him to fight the sustained trades that always end in his favor if they last long enough.

Mid Game- With an item or two and a third on its way, Aatrox is a threat on the map. Still unable to compete with the mid game team fight presence of most tanks, Aatrox focuses on split pushing and farming. Clearing the bot and top outer turrets as well as securing dragon and probably rift all by 22 minutes. Using objective pressure, his now ramping up ability to 1v1 or 1v2 maybe even 1v3 Aatrox can not be ignored. A tank and DPS is required to stop him though some good positioning and CC against the easily ran down Darkin blade.

Late Game- Now close to 5 items and boots, Aatrox is a real terror. His focus has shifted away from objectives and is now looking for every opportunity to dive into 5 people and start a fight. His lack of range makes him easily kited and zoned, requiring disengages to be burned forcing him out, meanwhile he builds his Bloodwell by absorbing and dealing poke damage, sustaining through it as the ultimate siege and diver
