Really a shame that people put time and effort into those icons only to have them go away forever. Some of us really look forward to getting one of them, but each individual has minuscule control over the outcome of the event.
You can still reward the winning team by giving them the icon for free. Why isn't this a thing?

Ofc I know we have already lost. It was obvious from the beginning. You think in a game like LOL Order would win Edgy Anarchy? OFC not. BTW this event was supposed to change the lore. It had nothing to do with champions. Most teens preferred the edgy chaotic Darius instead of the cruel Leader Garen.

I think that's the entire point of this. It's a war, some win, others lose. On the bright side, you actually get what the winners get as well. So it isn't like people are getting stuff you can't.

This is a competition. If one side wins, they get rewarded. There is nothing unfair about that, this is just how competition works.

And the BE thing is already a reward for voting for the thing that won more, you don't even need to participate in the missions to get it. The victory icon is the only other reward. Personally losing the exclusivity factor of the icon is fine to me since it adds more content for the losing party. I think that a BE reward for only needing to click a button on the client and waiting is honestly already desirable for the effort you put in. I know technically you have to do a mission at the end to earn it but you could literally do none of the missions and profit just for being the more popular side.

Last year, I did the Yasuo missions because I overall prefer Yasuo as a champion, but I will admit that while I love Yasuo's icon, I preferred the icon that we would have gotten had Riven won the event. I like Darius's icon for winning the event more in this case, but I still feel like if he wins, Garen's icon should still be made available.

Just like this one, most of the people will always pick the most edgi boi(who is ironically, on the ''rebels'' side, the villain side, which only makes it even more edgy :P) . Thats why darius will certainly win. And yasuo is the master of edgi bois, so riven had no chance really^^

You jump through every one of riot's hoops but because the emo edge lords show up in droves, it was all pointless.

I agree, the problem with these events is that you win or lose depending on how popular the champ and the skin is, not based on your ability, the more popular champ will win and beside picking one of the two, there is nothing else you can do to increase the chance of your side winning. It does suck not being able to buy the other icon considering both icons in these events are usually very nice, i don't see a problem with allowing the people who lost to buy it or something, that way there is both an award for winning and a way to get both icons.
