Its a lot less fun and satisfying, but you DO get more IP from levels 1-30 than you did previously.
Of course, since there was no retroactive rewards (THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN....) we wouldnt know or even really feel it because riot denied us the opportunity to test.

Influence Points. Used to be the currency to buy champions. You would get a certain amount of IP, calculated by (time x (win/loss rate)).

Its an old currency from when riot dude arena had a cohesive lore to it, back when we the players (canonically) were summoners in a organization called the institute of war who summoned copies of contracted Runeterran heroes to fight in political disputes as proxies and served as a central government backed up by very real firepower leftover from the old rune wars.
