The only thing Sona needs is a defined skillcap

I have mained Sona since her release in season 1 and something always comes up when Riot talk about reworking her And that is upping her skillcap so she isn't so linear and predictable (easily counterable, especially so at higher elos where picking Sona is a liability)

The first mini rework that changed her powerchords to what they are today was a step in the right direction The 2nd aura rework was a good attempt but did nothing in the long run and the 3rd lv16 URF rework was a mess

We don't ask for Sona to become Invoker (however many times people post it, it just would not work in this game and would be a nightmare to balance anyway) but something for Sona to use in her skillset that requires her to think more instead of mashing a spell whats off cooldown and praying you and whoever is with you live in a bad situation Sona sucks at saving allies, probably the worst support to have if you want the support to keep people safe, just spitballing here but what it Diminuendo reduced damage for something like 90% but only lasted a second (or 75% scaling to 90% per W rank) , this would up her skillcap and her ally saving capabilities, while basically keeping the same power in her kit allowing her to actually physically save allies, imagine her playmaking ability with that one small change.

Some of use choose to be idiots and stick with the same waif...champion , Sona's cool and all until diamond where you start seeing yourself get absolutely crushed in some games and it really makes you think just how easy it is to just make Sona irrelevant. Small changes like that would make Sona better in higher elos but hopefully the same at lower elos

I completely agree with the point 3. Now it seems like all sona is good for is getting to the point where she can just spam all her abilities at such high cdr that there is less thought needed in deciding when and which spells to use. If she had less cdr and a higher base stat for her abilities, she would be much better off and more viable, especially for the early game which she is horrible at. It would also take away the notion that the only thing needed for her is to spam spells but just like you said, going further by increasing the capabilities of power chord would completely change sona in a positive direction. It would lead to a sona which isnt just waiting out the game to become op and spam everything all at once but requires skill to carefully decide when to use skills as you cant just spam it and also decide on a powerchord which could dramatically change the outcome of a fight.

You essentially just described pre-patch 4.13 Sona. I just want to point out that fact.

Sona's original design was much more refined and well-thought than the shitshow she currently is.

Yes, let's make Sona even more overpowered! That won't backfire at all!

Not really. There are many areas which Sona absolutely sucks in and some that she just is op at. Her late game ability as far as my knowledge goes is the best amongst supports, mainly due to the fact she has 66% cdr (due to her ult passive and items) that she can just stupidly spam all spells and her ult with really low cd, which could be nerfed. The thing is, there are potential huge nerfs for the good as well as potential buffs, so in the end she becomes balanced, not op.
