Consistently dying in 1-2 seconds is not fun and offers limited counter play
Were these pre-season changes not play tested at all?
Team fights feel like they have to devolved into which team can dive and one shot the enemy carries faster.

assassins have always been a thing and have had the potential to "one shot." This has never changed. The only difference is that they are able to do these things sooner. This is a change in the meta. Tanks arent nearly as strong, in the early game, as they were last season. Dying quickly is in almost every game where you're allowed to die. You need to adapt. How did you deal with assassins before? Grouped and warded and saved cooldowns. Now, you just have to do that earlier. Everyone hated the changes to the runes before they came, and now that they are here, the majority love the changes. They are fresh and impactful. As such, the meta has changed, either change with it, or find another game. Riot does not want a stagnant game, its ever changing. Before, whoever had more tank, ultimately won the game. Same Snack, different flavor. This is what preseason is ALL about. Learning the new meta and adapting to it. Remember this is PRESEASON.

Good post, now hover and realize that I've been playing since before season 1 and delete it so you don't look like an idiot.
I'm not talking about assassins, unless the vast majority of champions are now assassins.

Geez are you salty for a legitimate explanation.

Unfortunately most champions indeed are assassins now (or at least feel like it) with the additions of the new runes.
exactly, everyone is building damage now, because their impact is so much more effective than in S7.
Lol such a pride induced response. The number of people who have played "since BEFORE season 1" is substantially low and your account details do not hold your statement up. If you HAVE, then you should know all about meta changes and why they are a thing. How is this a surprise to you? Before, people built tank, now they build assassin. J4 and Udyr being good examples. Even Kha build BC and bruisy and now he builds full assassin again. Shaco built Triforce Titanic. Not anymore. The lack of early armor and MR and the burst the runes gives have changed power spikes and how damage gets dealt. As a so called, "veteren," this kind of change should NOT be a surprise to you, as it has happened many times before

Look at this bullshit. Draven and I did absolutely nothing; after I took bottom turret and grouped, I couldn't even get in range to attack anything for an assist before Shyvana 100 to 0'd it.
On top of that, Shyv ended the game with something like 7000 unused gold. This is absurd.
I mean... Have you ever considered the possibility that Shyv is just really good/got fed? Some games are just bad and you have to wait for the right moment (especially with a squishy ADC like Miss Fortune; they've pretty much always been 100-0ed).
I mean, she one of those champions that used to build tank but now build AD because of how impactful it is early. She obviously got ahead and abused the lead. I don't see what's so surprising about this? Looks like Plat elo and according to her items and pot/wards she had an excess of 5k gold. You're a self proclaimed vet, how is champion getting ahead and snowballing a new thing for you, man? : D

If you've played this game for any significant amount of time you'd know how snowbally the current state is. Assassin meta didn't mean games were basically sealed by 15 minutes majority of the time. If you have no other frame of reference than this might not be a big deal, but this isn't a 'meta'. It's literally 3 years of progressive damage creep piled on, and then we remove base resistances from a ton of champs that were standard in seals and glyphs.
average game time right now is about double that time, according to LoG, which is updated daily, So I dont know about this 15min thing youre talking about. Last time there was an assassin meta was in S6 and the game times were also around 28-30min. Yes they removed the standard armor and MR but they adjusted EVERY champ base stats to compensate, sure, it may not be fully completed or perfect but that is literally what preseason is for. I don't know of many champs that didnt run armor or MR in their runes typically, so if you remove that from everyone then everyone should still be relatively the same (Scaling runes were hit hard I'll give you that and probably a good reason tanks are hurting right now).
The outcry for the last 3 seasons were to make the games shorter, that they were too long. That needs to be introduced slowly or else the game seems gutted, which many people are claiming now. There are a couple of picks that are straight hard to deal with, yes, but overall, since EVERYONE does more damage early, its just a more snowbally meta, and who does well with snowballing? Assassins.
This is my opinion of course. Runes werent touched for years and they felt boring and copy/paste and redundant. 9 Damage, 9 armor, 9 MR, 3 Damage. The same formula just very slightly changed sometimes.

I'm not saying game length is 15 minutes, I'm saying one team is usually up by +10 kills at 15 minutes and that's more or less how the rest of the game will play out. Also I'm not sure why you think I'm complaining about assassins. What about the bard that half healthed me at level 3? That's the stuff I'm talking about.
I don't think you've been playing this game for very long, because a lot of people will remember when you had to win MORE THAN JUST ONE TRADE in lane to all in for a kill.
