This ranked game has two auto-filled players on my team. Why is this possible?

Yenn··23 votes·10,159 views

The jungle and support are both auto-filled. I swapped with the jungle, but nobody plays support.

This really should nt happen, ever, especially in ranked. If the system can't create a balanced match up, it shouldn't even attempt to sacrifice match quality in order to start a game fast. That's what normals are for.

INB4 people come in saying that you would have to wait another 5-10 minutes for a game... I'd rather spend 5-10, even 15 minutes extra if it meant that every game I played was quality shit.

Then setup a team of 5 players and start playing in flexQ.

Most of the player base do not want to spend 15 minuts to go in a game.

Then do play a mode that should be focused on balnced teams

I am very absolutely positive that most of the playerbase would HAPPILY wait an hour to get a good damn game and not a shit show of 5-30 scores every game.

I am 100% positive you're way off base there. A lot of people wouldn't be able to play the game at all if the queue was an hour long, cause not everyone can spend 4-5 hours playing League every day.

I mean i obviously overexaggarated on "most playerbase" but atleast half wouldnt mind it honestly. half are dedicated league players other half are people who come in once a day/once a week/once a month. :p

I dont know anyone who would like to wait one hour to go in a game.

I don't want to play a ranked game with someone that plays an hour a week. I have ARAM for that.

I will wait for a team to play a decent game.

Maybe 15 min would be extreme, but definitely 5-10 min for a balanced game is worth it

I agree. The issue is getting those balanced games. How do we know that the rise in balance will be enough to satisfy people? Obviously the longer people have to wait, the higher their expectations. To me that sounds like a disaster in the making. Better to use autofill and keep queues less than 5 minutes IMO.

If they could balance games such that in 10 minutes they'll put together 10 players from the same tier/rank, I'd be for it. Until then I'll vote for autofill.

We must also consider the fact that some roles are just played less. What do we do about that? To me autofill seems like the most practical solution for a bottleneck caused by a lack of players for certain roles. Though perhaps instead of autofill, players could have a certain quota of games they need to play in certain roles. This would also solve the issue, but it might feel just as bad as autofill. I see autofill as a bad solution to an impossible problem, still it's a solution.

I mean if you are gonna play ranked at the end of the day you should be somewhat capable in all roles. We literally had seasons before any of this position matchmaking and you had to call roles.

Saezio1 votes

AH, the good old days when Elo determined pick order.. That was real league.

Alzon1 votes

I wish we could go back to those days. You felt closer to your teammates right from the start, for better or for worse.

Idk I saw some pretty terrible stuff in those days

And now we have people who can't even play their own role but can certainly slam their keyboard for one champion.

Lmfao. Downvote=pathetic virgin.

Does upvote=alpha male?

I would wait 10 minutes for exceptional games. I would not like to wait longer than that, at that point I feel that I'm better off just playing a different game.

If I have to wait 10 minutes to get into a 20-30 minute game, matchmaking better be damn perfect.

When i que for support, it's always less then 30 seconds, same for it. It's not a mm issue, it's a limited play pool issue.

The thigh guy4 votes

But but but. Then midlaners have a 9 minute que time.

Nah for real I completely agree. Auto fill is cancer.

UncaringNonchala3 votes

Shit you not I had a game recently where two teammates were autofilled... with each others' preferred roles. They didn't even know until the game started, one said something about wishing he was mid instead of autofilled into jungle, then the mid exploded with "dude I queued for jungle" and then they raged at each other for neither asking to swap before the game started.

Yeah, we didn't win.

DeathBurst2 votes

Actually auto-filled, or just got their secondary?

I know that for the sake of simplicity, I often say I'm "filled" to mean "I did not get my primary".

Makarakarn2 votes

I remember back in the good old days when IT WAS THE SAME SHIT AND YOU COULD GET AN OFF ROLE JUST AS EASILY AS YOU CAN NOW

S V 1 votes

I always check allies' roles immediately when I get into the lobby, if I accumulate the amount of LP lost due to this, I would say it's AT LEAST over 350 lp. (Assuming it's around -5 or -7 lp loss).

The system is quite good from my experience :

I queue for mid/adc and as you can see i've been in another role (top) once in 41 games.

Also I never dodge, so it's not because I dodged the games on which i'm autofilled.

I'm a support main. Sorry that I wasn't playing when you Qed up. Lol
