I don't get it. Is it just upvote-farming? When you post on an existing thread, it gets bumped. If it's hot, it appears on the hot page.
I'm not sure whether people don't check the boards first, are just farming upvotes (in which case it's quite transparent), or just want their voice heard specifically. The first and second are annoying, the third is understandable to a point (five long paragraphs analyzing the issue is one thing, a quick "OP plz nerf Rito" is a waste of our time).
