Jungleology 101: Champion Recommendation
Figuring out who you wanna play to climb in the jungle is not a hard choice. Generally you play who you want because you can honestly carry as any champion so long as you know how to play them. But what if your starting out? You don't know who to play? Well, I can at least think of a few prime candidates that are good, specifically in low elo, where you can climb. At the same time I wanna keep it practical so that the champion doesn't dissolve the higher elo you get, even though the better you get at the champion the higher you can take him. But I am talking about champions that can be proactive and not just champions that are weak but you still punish mistakes so he's... "OK" in lower elo.
#1- Shaco: As an avid veteran Shaco player I can vouch for him as a champion, especially for lower elo. Despite what silly stereotypes have latched onto him the only bad thing with Shaco is that it takes a lot of knowledge and practice, not necessarily to play him, but to play him consistently well and climb. As long as you keep improving and keep learning he is a very easy champ to climb with. At least till Diamond. At least, I mostly used him to get to diamond back in season 4.
#2- Rek'Sai: If you want a bit of a tankier option that has a global AND you can deal at least some damage, Rek'sai is probably your best option. I was thinking Zac at first, but he's a little more vulnerable early and just doesn't have as much versatility. Key points is that Rek'Sai is fairly easy to play, still has decent early ganks. Although there's no reason I would pick Rek'Sai over Shaco in a soloQ game, he's definitely really good and takes a lot less time to learn. #3- Pantheon: Same key reasons: Decent early ganks, easy to play and also has a good ultimate people just don't know know to play around in low elo. Probably because they don't understand it. xD
So far I think those are the 3 best options definitely and I know there are maybe better options but for this current meta I think these are simply the easiest to learn and closest to what the meta currently looks like as well as not being champions that decay as you climb. (Except Shaco depending how you play him)
With that I should share champions I do not recommend for lower elo or even at any elo whatsoever, more so types of champions such as #1- Devourer Junglers: I see mistakes of people picking yi,Shyvana and even worse Jax jungle and go devourer expecting that they instawin because it gives them a "damage spike" late-game. Moving the general weaknesses of these champions aside, devourer is an item dedicated to making you weak early game and that's why it is keenly used specifically for champions that have weak early ganks. Key reason why I don't recommend them: Terrible early ganks, unreliable damage spike and vulnerability.
#2- Udyr: Same reasons: Terrible early game and.. terrible late-game as well honestly. No point this champion should have gotten nerfed in the first place. I feel bad that even though him being good was just a "Fake-out" and was simply because players in this day and age don't know how to avoid ganks whatsoever, I truly feel bad that the one time he got even a glimmer of a spotlight, he gets nerfed. At the same time, I am a bit salty he took Runic Echoes down with him. #3- Lee Sin: Just don't do it. No, he's a good early pressure jungler. He's just really fucking hard. Don't try to learn him, just avoid him. I seen too many low elo Lee Sin to know how it all ends.
would be even better in low brackets... but she is delicate , like a flower (No innuendo , sort of). She explodes so easily (still no innuendo) and needs to be handled with care (Goddamnit).
