Ornn crashes the game when mordekaiser kills him.

Ornn crashes the game in other occasions.

"Mordekaiser has been disabled due to an in game issue"

Even ignoring any monetary concerns, there is a very valid reason to disable Morde over Ornn.

Morde is an old champion with a very small playerbase, while Ornn is a new champion that a whole bunch of people want to play. Thus, Riot allows far more people what they want by temporarily disabling Morde than by temporarily disabling Ornn. It's really that simple, people would still buy Ornn and his skins even if his release had to be delayed because of the bug, but they wouldn't get to play him when they wanted to.

Save your breath. They wouldn't be bitching if it was a more common champion. The Boards' worship of Mordekaiser is inane and irrational, just because of some outspoken advocates. It's basically a cult.

I mean, Morde can cause a crash but I heard there's other things that Ornn does to cause crashes. If that German Shepard fights with every dog it sees, you don't remove the Doberman, Chihuahua, and Great Dane, you remove the German Shepard.

How long before someone else is disabled because of a crash interaction with Ornn?

See, that argument works until you realize that there's 133ish other dogs that play nice with the German Shepard.

You fix the exceptions causing issues, not change the original to try and fix the exceptions because thats just going to cause other issues.

But we only have 10 dogs in the pen at a time. If we can only remove one, why take the chance and NOT remove the dog that picks fights? If other dogs start 0 fights, that German Shepard is STILL at the highest amount of fights.

K, I'm dropping the analogy since you're clearly not getting it yourself.

If only SPECIFIC champions are having interaction issues with Ornn, then they need to fix THOSE champions interactions and NOT Ornn. Changing Ornns interaction can causer other champions to get issues because you tried to fix a problem on another champion by adjusting the wrong side of the interaction. 10 champs in a game doesn't magically remove all the others from existence.

But it's not just Morde, Ornn crashes games just by himself.

Its not a cult if 48 people agree with you

It's because we admit our irrational unconditioned love for Mordekaiser

Is 48 too many, or not enough people to count as a cult?

I will sacrifice my life to the cult

Two birds, one stone.

I'd contend that even if they had disabled Ornn they wouldn't have lost very much in the way of income from him, but without that actually happening we can't know for sure.

Who the fuck buys champions with RP, that shit is inefficient as hell

If rito really cared about letting players play new champions they would make them unbannable for the first few days in normals.

SpookyNeedle14 votes

Or(nn) they're not disabling Ornn so they can find more bugs

The Deckowner2 votes

So they can make more games crash and make more people unable to play the game?

Zerenza8 votes

No. In order to fix all bugs they need to be able to find all the bugs, Ornn is causing them but the other champs are too so they disable those champs first so that they can find more bugs with ornn since the other champions have 1 bug but Ornn probably has a lot more.

3TWarrior1 votes

or, you know, they could release a finished product instead of bum rushing every change?

Zerenza1 votes

Well, there were no bugs with Ornn on the PBE. They didn't know this would happen, it's not their fault.

Lippen2713 votes

They want to maximize chances of making money off ornn skins and sell him for super high ip price right now,

Thats why they decided to disable an old champ which has shown to cause a crash,

Rather the new champ (who will be making money) which has shown to cause crashes.

Its a smart business move.

The Deckowner8 votes

Yeah we all know how it goes. Not sure how this kinda broken stuff made it through PBE unnoticed tho.

General Esdeath 12 votes

No Morde players on PBE I guess

The Deckowner1 votes

But other players are experiencing crashes even with Morde disabled, like that front page post that talks about how casting R as Ornn breaks the game.

General Esdeath 1 votes

I saw that too, I'm just referring to the Morde bug.

Yeah we all know how it goes. Not sure how this kinda broken stuff made it through PBE unnoticed tho.

Because the PBE and Live versions of the game are different. It's literally as simple as that. It might not have happened on PBE because something indirectly related to Ornn is different. Or some last second changes to him might have caused this when it went live. Either way bugs in game are hard to even predict.

I'd also like to point out that the crash is guaranteed to happen with Morde, but not with other things so... better to disable Morde and fix that right away and see if that fixes it rather than ornn and get no real data on the problem.

Morde does not craah the game when Ornn isn't in the game.

Ornn crashes the game even without morde.

The source of the issue is obvious.

No. No it's not. There's not JUST one singular thing that happens when a champion gets hit. There's damage calcs for how much the attack will do, there's defense calcs for how much it's decreases, there's sustain, on-hit effects, particle effects, special interactions, etc etc. Not all of those are linked DIRECTLY to ornn's coding, some of it happens in the coding of other champions.

The Deckowner3 votes

So? Ornn is still the core of the problem.

Please stop trying to talk code when you clearly know nothing about it. Ornn isn't necessarily the core of the problem, if it's primarily happening with specific champs then that's more reason to think it's not him.

A vary basic example: If the crash is caused by Morde getting the brittle debuff while he is converting health to shield then it's a problem with Morde's code that would be causing it, not the fact that Ornn applied brittle to Morde.

3TWarrior1 votes

there is a bit of a problem with your theories when in coding a mathematical logic error is fairly easy to find but bugs such as order of circumstances, incomplete(yet functional) code, infinite loops(though with their budget, this should be easily discovered by a data source) and various others are not.

the other problem is that they are rushing their productions instead of making sure that each is released in a completed state

for instance, the mordekaiser bug could probably have easily been detected if every potential mechanic of champion kits were presented against new designs. Although impractical, it would allow issues to be found in probably under a week

now here's where things get interesting...I understand that it is business ethics keeping Ornn in play (more purchases, more money, etc) but think of it this way. Ornn should not have any mechanics in his kit that interfere with death or activate after death, so how is it that this new champion (unlike the half of the champion roster that was released after mordekaiser) somehow causes problems with mordekaiser's ultimate?

It's nothing but propaganda and avoiding the press (or playerbase in this issue)

Because Mordekaiser's ghost has its properties changed from them being a champion. If I had to take a guess it would possibly be something to do with Ornn's unstoppable mechanic, since that's frankly different than the other version of "unstoppable" in the game and just didn't interact well with it.

(Or you know, the fact that Morde has rampant bugs in general but hey let's pretend that he didn't glitch stuff between his release and now)

3TWarrior1 votes

no...if I had to guess, it's probably because the game is receiving conflicting statements because ornn has a passive shop mechanic and when he becomes an "ally" it causes an infinite loop as the machine tries to resolve that his passive does not apply to his new "allies"

It's been said a billion times but...

Nobody really uses the PBE to bug test. It's kind of a joke. People use it to test skins they want to buy or make youtube montages of full crit Ornn one-shotting a Leblanc. MAYBE if Morde had gotten a skin the same patch, this stuff would have been found, but if I had to guess the PBE was Ornn mixed with a handful of Star Guardian characters.

Kind of a shame that these things don't get caught but many of us can't help because we don't have PBE accounts.

Then shake the higher-ups a bit, and let those of us who's interested in actually helping get a chance! With the ARAM balancing a couple months ago for example, I'd be your man there, with almost 7000 ARAM games played.

But was I asked or accepted into the PBE (with my sign-up submitted over 2 years ago), even with the preferred "relevant experience" (an apparent prerequisite these days)? Oh no, because that'd be logical. And we can't have that.

This is the typical Rito logic through and through. It's burrito, is what it is. Lots of stuffing, but with little essence.

Someone just posted on Reddit that it works with Kayn ult too. Inb4 Kayn disabled.

There's also a rampant bug with Ornn literally being invisible; people can just see a floating Sunfire cape particle (if he buys it) with a health bar.

Edit: this is ridiculous...[slayer-jinx-unamused]

ikr. Problem is: he's a new champ too, and is seemingly immune to being disabled like Ornn.

If there's a bug, it's like 85% chance of being Morde related.

the other 15% is probably Azir.

Lol this isn't really a but Bard casted his ult onto 3 of us and I was in the middle of my W (doesn't take damage while doing so as Ornn) and everything else around me got ult'd.
