How long will I be stuck in Silver 5?

Hallbuster··1 votes·1,820 views

So far, I have made no progress for the entire day. It's been a win - a loss - a win - a win - a loss - a loss - a loss - a win, until it balances out, I have to ask previous Silver 5 players, how long were you stuck here? Will it take years?

it took me more time to get out of silver 5 than it took to get from s4 to gold, that place is litteral hell to play in everyone is toxic as hell and tilt is as common as cs

Well, I guess that means I'll be stuck in here for awhile.

Didn't take too long. I climbed from silver 5 to silver 3 with a 57 % win rate really quickly. Then I kept getting TONS of games with trolls so now I'm trying to get towards silver 5 since that was when the game seemed the most enjoyable

You should be able to one or two trick your way out. Mute all and just play.

Try playing some normals matches eith differeny builds and champs. Youll find something thay works well for you. Ride that out of S5.

Try not to throw games. Youll get there. The afks, lag outs, dcs, are more comming in silver 5. It cab he rough.

I actually one trick Vladimir, I currently have a 63% win rate with him, so I think I just need to play more games to balance my losses out.

The only problem is his weak early game, even if I roam bot lane, I can deal enough damage to help secure kills.

Depends on skill and luck. If you have gold-level skill, you should be out of S5 within 30-40. If plat-level skill, then 15-20. It depends a bit on the role you play.

If your skill is mid-silver though, it can take a very long time if stars don't align just right.

I'm good with last hitting: 160+ CS in 20 minutes on average, wave control, map awareness, and trades.

I'm bad with overextending, warding, and positioning in a team fight.

So..... is this good for my division?

In my honest opinion, as someone who was in the same situation as you. in that elo, it's more about the champs you pick. who are you maining?

A lot, and a lot of Vladimir, 300+ games with 270k mastery points. I considered replacing him with Swain after a particularly frustrating losing streak, but in the end, I still decided to stick with him.

well first of all - what is a lot? you want 2 champs max! and I mean it. you are not a smurf. you're in a elo (so am I btw, gold isn't that better) where you don't really play a smart macro game. pick two champs (and you need them to be the "right" champions for your level) and just spam them and you will go out. playing too many champs will just make your game inconsistent.

if you want a general advice - if you play mid, or can play mid. go annie, spam annie. she's one of the best elo boosters champ in the game. easy, strong and reliable all stages of the game. I'm a support main myself, and climbed quite a lot in silver with Zyra (although I ditched her as Janna is just too good right now).

In general you want to play champions that are easy, that you don't need to focus so much on mechanics, but on the game itself and then you will finally be able to notice your mistakes.

EDIT: quated my own post by mistake ^^

I actually used to main Annie, I could go into detail why I traded her for Vladimir but it's all in this thread:

https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/jNHAPI0Z-why-annie-is-not-a-good-champion-to-climb-low-elos-with

I also don't think Vladimir is a very difficult champion that many people claim him to be. I do think he's "different" however. He awards players who are patient and consistent rather than players who like to go all in or make some impressive plays.

He's my one trick, not even a two - trick, by that I mean I only play someone else if:

1.) He's banned 2.) I get auto - filled

So, 90% of my games this season is games, filled with Vladimir.

Monkey territory. All the 5's are like this, with silver 5 being the easiest, and diamond 5 being the worst. Personally, i started my climb at the start of season 5 being bronze 5, and ended up at plat 5 after a total of 160 games with about a solid 60% win rate. In season 6, after 160 games i'm diamond 5, hoping to be master tier by the end of season 7. (I already play against them in norms, looking forward to it!)

What i would start with is CS and Roaming, and learning to trade. Make sure instead of looking at K/D/A to describe how you did that match, look at Damage dealt to champions, Deaths, and Towers/Dragons taken. As a general rule of thumb, you want to have somewhere around 0-5 deaths per match.

When i look at your op.gg something is striking to me: You have a decent amount of games played on Vlad and Annie with a positive win rate. Kudos. When you're ahead or even your KDA's look decent, but when you get behind you don't understand how to come back into a game so you go 0/15 or 8/20, or 4/10. These amounts of deaths are unsatisfactory and they hold your team back from carrying you. They also prevent you from farming into a practical spot.

With the above being what i see, I would recommend that you focus on going in -> using cds -> moving out waiting for cds -> go in. This will improve teamfighting a bit in terms of the Vladimir kind of style.

In terms of CS/Min, you look like you're doing alright. I would, however, like to remind you that if you get fed you still need to farm, and that you need to farm later into a game. Some games you seem to be doing alright, but at 40+ mins your farms the same as if it was a 35 min game which to me seems a bit odd.

P.S. I also happened to notice that you had a few Kayle games played, and wondered why you had a 25% win rate. I would avoid taking Kayle in the support role, because she requires a ton of gold to be effective. Try her mid or top, and run the same masteries. For runes, run Attack Speed reds, Armor yellows, Attack speed quints and full CDR per level blues. Build: Doran's ring -> Berserkers -> Nashors -> Rageblade -> Runaans +/ Wits end -> GA. She's another simple champion that will work wonders in helping climb.

Read your entire post and must admit, this is very good advice: 10/10 to be honest. You basically pointed out 3 mistakes I tend to make and need to correct:

  1. Tilt, falling behind and not being able to get back in the game when I start dying once twice.
  2. CS'ing even when I'm ahead, I start to forget for some reason and only try to take kills when this happens.
  3. Waiting for my cooldowns to refresh before I go back to a team fight, this one helped me the most since Vladimir runs on high cooldowns early on! I need to retreat when this happens!

P.S Support Kayle was awhile ago, but I'll still remember your build if I ever play her again. Just saw a challenger Kayle youtube video a few hours ago.

Last season I was placed in S1 but then got demoted all the way to S5 because I wasn't playing the champion I usually main. And it took me awhile to get back up to S4 but once I got there I ranked myself back up to S2 with ease. I couldn't get rank myself up back to S1 because the season was 1 week from being over, lol.

I'll definitely avoid making the same mistake, playing Vladimir until the end :/.

I'm doing the same thing in Flex right now.

I'm playing Silver 4/5 on my Ranked Flex solo right now and its absolutely horrible (the only worse thing than trying to carry 2+ Bronze is to try and carry 2+ Bronze WHO ARE IN A PARTY/DISC).

However, its the only game mode that's still sane now. I got to Gold V recently on Ranked Solo/Duo and need to take a break from the high intensity games. Norms is also unplayable now because I try hard too much and now there's a Plat and 2 Gold in every other game on either team.

Yeah I think its going to be a long long long ride. Its too unpredictable.

Yeah checked your op.gg, you hit gold 5 recently.

its really hard because the skill variance is just so huge

a lot of new ranked accounts get placed there too

I found Fiddlesticks support to be very fun and effective though some people will think youre trolling.

Fiddles E ability for ping pong crows can cripple opponents and its his main farming skill when taken as a mid so it has a mid cooldown. You will take a few cs from your adc but if they understand that zoning the opponent and winning engagesnis more important theyll be on board. If you like AP casters you might try him as a support in a a few normals.

The reason I suggest this is because if you can get decent with an AP support like Brand or Fiddle their damage to opponents output is very high and the opponent team will be challenged to match your output.

Fiddle isnt a common champion so people understimate him. Every skill he has is impactful.

R-E-W-Q. Though mostly I alternate levels of W and Q. W is just stronger at early skirmishes. You have to build some AP though or you will be ignored. I got to Plat playing Malphite jg with attack speed runes and Fiddle Support.

Now Im in the same boat as you. Im finding P5 harder than G1 just because their are so many players here that main carry roles but don't know how to carry or at least not feed. So I'm reconsidering my own role as my picks are usually for team utility over hard carrying.

I like Fiddle because he cant help my adc get an edge. The onky adc Ive disliked using him with is Vayne. Her playstyle doesnt perform as well eith Fiddle or maybe its just the timid Vaynes I lve played with. Her range limits her engages compared to other adcs early.
