Tryndamere Ult Idea

How about, instead if "You can't die for this amount of time" it's "You can't die for this amount of time so long as your fury is above a certain amount"? Of course, you'd have to follow that up with a way for enemies to lower his fury. Something like as long as he's under his ult, attacks from enemies damage his fury too?

It can work, like his fury begins to rapidly deplete, and once it runs out, he’s vulnerable to death? Or his fury acts like a last chance health bar once he reaches near certain death? Something like that?

That last idea sounds pretty good tbh. It reminds me of Aatrox, which isn't necessarily a bad thing because remember Tryndamere is blessed by Aatrox lol

How about this concept then? (Literally thought this up while working out)

R: Enraged Frenzy

**This ability can only be activated once Tryndamere has a full Fury bar. Tryndamere gives in to his battle instincts, the rage clears Tryndamere of present disables and CC, while depleting his HP gradually (slow, but gets faster). He is granted massive lifesteal, increased regeneration, attack speed and movement speed during the duration.

This ability can not and will not stop until Tryndamere is at 1 HP. The last attack, spell or DoT inflicted that would inflict lethal damage will not kill Tryndamere if Enraged Frenzy activated.**

How about this?

I doubt they'd make an ability that drains so much health lol then again since you're giving him lifesteal too I suppose it could work

I could change it so that when Tryndamere succeeds to get a kill or assist, the buff goes away, and the ultimate can be recasted with no Fury cost. How is that?

That sounds too complicated for the champion himself.

It’s kinda like a sacrificial ultimate for Tryndamere. If he isn’t hurting anybody, he’s hurting himself. He’s rewarded for killing, and not running like a coward.

That makes sense, then. Undying Rage should be undying rage lol but above I listed a sorta..basic idea to change him up a bit.

I kinda like the idea, at least in concept. His Ult could slowly degenerate Fury (after the surge of flat Fury it gives), and steadily increase the drain rate. Somewhat similar to Shyvana, so his AA's (and crits) kinda fight the degeneration somewhat. Once his Fury runs out his ult ends. Possibly making him unable to cast Q during the time. High ult ranks could slightly decrease the Fury degen rate too. Ult at from max fury could last 3/3.5/4 seconds without attacking, up to 8-9 seconds with attacking with crits based on rank level

It might sound a bit much but its not like he would get to attack the entire time sometimes :V just some thoughts~

It mostly makes sense. The problem with Tryn's ult right now, in my opinion, is that there's no counter to it. Shyvana's Ult loses fury meaning her upgraded form runs out if she's not attacking, which is a great method of counterplay. Tryndamere should have the same thing, at least in a fashion.

I think the current ult in itself is just kind of limiting with what you can do with it. The draining fury example is probably too much like Shyvana imo As a band-aid fix I think it'd be good though, allowing windows and actual meaningful play around it. Like Trynd R to Morgana Q will make his ult run out before he gets to do anything, but thats at least something. Since being unkillable just makes it tedious for everyone. Plus currently the only counterplay is either tank his hits until he can be killed or disengage/kite until he can be killed, moreso in a 1v1 situation. The band-aid fix will at least make his ult end sooner if he can't stick to the target or if he ults to escape.

As for a rework, I wouldn't really know what could be done while keeping the unkillable aspect and without making it clunky to use.

Das true. I don't expect it to be a long-term idea, but man Tryndamere's Ult has been a nightmare for as long as I can remember. Unkillable anything never really works well in video games, let alone PVP games.

One idea that I've let float around my head is for instead of him being purely unkillable, just give him an ult that exponentially increases damage mitigation as his health gets lower. Kinda like how Jax's ultimate gives him outright flat Armor and MR based on his AD and AP? Tryn's would give him a certain amount of % reduced damage that increases as his health drops, for a certain amount of time. That way he's not just outright unkillable but instead really frickin' hard to kill.

yeah that would probably work better, or even something like pre-rework poppy's passive, where receiving damage more than 10% of your max hp, the excess damage would be halved. That's at least protection against getting insta-bursted while ulting, but making it still possible to be slow-burned. Either option also means Trynd doesn't just wait til very low hp to activate his ult. I feel its a bit degenerate to simply time a button click (works even if stunned btw) and spin/flash away to safety if your tower dive isn't successful. not to mention he can basically have a free tower dive for days :V

idk what they'll do with his ult, it pretty much has to stay as some kind of avatar form. Maybe itll turn his autoattacks into frontal cleaves for 6 seconds, a melee twitch.
