Why some games are complete stomps

Currently Plat 4 I've noticed that the gameplay is much different than the normal ranked season. Games seem much easier for me and other adc mains tend to have no idea what they're doing. What I've found out with some little research is that, A LOT of players were elo boosted this year. There is no way you go from Silver to Plat just in the last week of the season after struggling in Silver all season long.

This is a huge problem. 70 cs compared to 200 cs in 20mins is not a fair game and the games will most likely end in a stomp to whoever has elo boosted accounts.

I don't think this is with all games and i'm sure they're other contributing factors but it's something i've noticed and i'm sure will clear up once ranked promos come out. However in preseason this will make things look lobsided for sure

I know a girl who boosted Silver to Diamond 5 and now she never talks to any of her friends that are not Diamond +

Got to love how someone gets boosted and thinks they are the best person in this game. I would know since I'm only Gold 5 and I'm able to beat her every single time in lane.

Yes there are a few cases of boosters that through but that's not the main reason why games are stomps. New items for ADC's means that people are going to experiment and the combos they come up with aren't always going to work out. Not to mention that if they are losing consistently in your elo they won't have the same Normals MMR as you meaning they'll be playing with their true rank. Last but not least, games this week have been over all one sided due to how snowbally the game is getting. Stomps are going to happen more often than not.

that really shows some limited understanding of the gameplay...

there are three main factors right now that make games very short:

  • less vision than before, amplifying snowballing due to making any environment not protected by towers unsave when behind
  • less effective hp on turrets, leading to very early inhibitors/more dark areas on the map
  • the "ad-meta", as ad snowballs just more than ap/tank for two reasons:
  • most of the dmg is linked to auto-attacks, so you canßt dodge it and outplays become a non-factor, it´s all about stats
  • they don´t only kill Champions faster when they get more items, but also take objectives faster.

I played today a game where our Fiora top basically 1v5ed the enemy team, after she got first blood...

Against another fiora. So this means the issue isnt in design balance.

I don't see the point of boosting. I mean at this point, I would like someone to boost me from like Silver 1 to Gold 5 lol (well season over so not anymore) but.... like another whole division or two? You know if you play a ranked game you are going to get wrecked and ruin the game for others. You will also get wrecked in normal... so wtf the point?

Turret health is strange. They removed the Armor in favor of extra health. But theirs also a new effect that causes Turrets to scale Armor and MR. 2 per minute, max of 30.

130% effective health of 3500 is 4550. Which would be a buff to outer turret health after 15 minutes. (And still, they take reduced damage before 7 minutes.)

This weird mechanic appears to weaken tower earlier while making them a little stronger later in the game. That said, I feel like the scaling is off. It does create an environment where Turret taking can snowball.
