I Dont Give A Shit If This Is A Normal Game

Feeding because you're "having fun" isn't exactly making the game fun at all

There is a difference between int feeding and having an off game and asking to not be flamed because it's a normal game

JRobin319 votes

If it's an off game, then no need to flame even if it is a ranked game... normal game irrelevant.

Tobias Brackner50 votes

If you want to focus on winning then play Ranked.

3TWarrior14 votes

simply put, it's all a competition where the fun is in trying to win unless you are completely among friends and can then do whatever you want.

for example, I learned that in ranked, people spam the most overpowered nonsense they can think of and tend to have advantages over the typical player

I prefer normals because it is still competitive...but not all-out crazy that some players just have an advantage with both knowledge of their champs and a finite pool of champions as their IP climbs to afford runes

I met a pantheon in a mirror match once in dominion....we started exactly the same...and he had 15-20 more armor and magic resist, so he won every trade

aceknighthigh6 votes

But it isn't competitive............. People literally don't care if they win or lose because normals is used to have fun, practice offmeta/nonviable builds/comps, and to just generally work on mechanics.

Winning or losing isn't a big part of it, and while a inter is still a problem, someone having a bad game and not caring is pretty normal.

If I take AD Xerath top lane, it my not go so well, but I don't want to get flamed because they have every chance to dodge(I give people a warning), to play something just as crazy, or to choose an entire mode designed for competitive play where winning and losing is the only thing that matters.

NiceTryVi9 votes

No, that's not how it works. Xerath has no AD scalings, and nothing to make his AAs good. He has no mobility and has a single target skillshot stun, so if he gets ganked, hes screwed due to toplaners and junglers usually having a lot of CC as well as Xer being very squish. You going Xerath top is not just off-meta, its downright trolling.

Tobias Brackner5 votes

Just because someone has a bad idea doesn't make them a troll...

Votable Jester5 votes

Ehh normally I'd agree with you there, but if you're playing ad Xerath with randoms that is a bit trolly. I mean ad Lux, Annie, or basically any other mage would still be better because they just have better/more reliable cc.

If you're playing with friends or your allies are fine with it, that's fine, but otherwise...

Tobias Brackner2 votes

Yeah, but a lot of people don't pay attention to that stuff. Like, when you take a step back and look at League it's a very very complicated game.

I wouldn't be surprised if 90% of the player base gained an idea of what was good on champs based on just mimicing what their friends do as opposed to actually understanding how all the stats interact. From that perspective, AD Xerath doesn't seem like a bad idea since he's got an AA just like anyone else and all AA scale off of AD.

Votable Jester2 votes

Yeah I'd only really believe that of someone who either isn't level 30 yet or only reached level 30 in the last month or so. After that they'd have to be willfully ignorant to not understand that AD is not effective on Xerath.

I mean I wouldn't report personally (unless they're being an @$$ about it), but I still wouldn't believe them.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

You need to play with more people and understand just how complicated League is.

It wouldn't just be friends. If your friends build Xerath AP, every ally you play with builds Xerath AP, every enemy you see builds Xerath AP, the enemy Xerath Bot in Coop v AI builds AP, and you launch the game to see that all of Xerath's recommended items are Mana or AP items, and you STILL try to build him AD without researching it after having already made it to level 30, then maybe you just aren't smart enough to play LoL.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

You completely ignored my point.

Also you are implying that just because everyone is doing a thing, then you should do a thing because it's the best option (even if you don't know why).

Real-life history has literally proven you wrong.

Xerath is not a champ that should be getting close to champs and has no reliable safety net other than his stun. It's a stupid idea. At least an AD Ahri or something has the capability of getting out or charming. And why gimmick a stupid idea like AD Xerath if every source in the world is calling you a fool for doing it? Is it also fun to get stomped on top-lane by their now fed Yasuo?

Yeah everyone has AAs, but AA animations/projectile speed, base damage, differ, and Xerath has no way of keeping someone still and close-by/chasing ability unless he gets FM/Rylai's.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

Darling, your entire argument there comes from your familiarity and knowledge of League of Legends.

Stop ignoring my point.

aceknighthigh4 votes

No it's me having fun, and again you have every right to play something just as crazy, leave, or play the game mode where people play to win.

Another fun one is crit poppy. The item 3094 with her passive is funny as hell if you get ahead. Again I play normals to have fun, not to conform to what** you think** fun must be. I think the problem is people don't understand how to have fun in a loss.

NiceTryVi5 votes

You want to play crazy shit? play with friends. I am playing normals to either practice new stuff for ranked, or relax a bit, and it is zero fun to get a trolly ass playing stupid bullshit ruining the game for me. I shouldn't have to dodge because one of my teammates is playing shit guaranteed to lose because trolling is fun for him.

Seekêr5 votes

Fun is subjective. If that is your fun, then great for you. My fun is doing the best I can and not getting flamed by kids who have more time on their hands to "git gud"

SirΤeemο4 votes

normals games is were we practice bad player. if u wanna feed and do stupid shit play bots.

Jax the Stampede6 votes

Actually, you have it in reverse. Bot matches are for practicing things. The only kind of "practice" you can get from a pvp match that bots (which exist for the sole purpose of allowing people to practice and get mechanically better) is learning to play against human opponents. However, since human's are as unpredictable and varied in thought processes as they are there's not really much one can do to improve that "skill" other than just being capable of adapting to things quickly which is a natural talent that can't be improved on all that much so claiming that it's used for practicing that is simply ludicrous. Also, they added a sandbox mode for people who feel they need to practice things. There are modes specifically made for practicing. The reason they exist is so that people can't selfishly claim that the normal games are for them to "practice" so that the people who got the game for, and here's a mindblowing concept, fun can actually have fun with the game. If you want your gotta win stress then there are places for that. As for normals, no one is going to care how pissed you are that your little practice session isn't going the way you specifically want it to. That's where that adaptation I was talking about comes in. You either change up your perspective of the situation, or continue to be frustrated at it. Those are really the only two options. The other options aren't going to care.

Nah, bots gives plenty of practice for Supp.

Definitely not jungle though. Last time I checked, jungle cannot be counter jungled in bots.

Also, when do you need to ward in bots? As support?

Tobias Brackner2 votes

Counter jungling isn't all that hard. It's 90% warding and 9% watching the minimap and 1% knowing the matchup.

Bots roam when you take out tier 1 but I am more disgusted that you think practicing Supp revolves around warding.

Here's all you need to know about warding:

  1. Do you have a ward?
  2. Place the ward in a spot that maximizes vision.

And that second part is easy to figure out by looking at the minimap, no bots required.

Get your head screwed back on.

I'm a support main. Is it really that hard to check my OP.GG?

Support doesn't revolve around warding. The game itself does. Vision is important. Jungle can ward too. Ever seen it? Hard concept I know.

Put more words into my mouth and spout out more nonsensical statistics and logic. Not like human players take different paths than bots or anything.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

And what part of BOTS is warding?

Screw your head back on I literally answered this and the more important question.

Hell your little rant doesn't even mention my claim about how to learn to ward. Try again and see if you can actually put in more content to disprove my claim instead of talking about how much you play support. If you know what you are talking about then talk about it.

It's not about focusing on winning it's about trying to enjoy the game. You can't really enjoy a game if you're just waiting for the 20 min to surrender. Also everyone has bad games just don't let it be everyone's bad game because of it. [slayer-jinx-catface]

Tobias Brackner2 votes

Yes you can. You play your lane as best as you can within those 20 minutes then ff.

RainbowIcee3 votes

You're right... on a single player game not on a team based game. What kind of games you be having were you're in the lane solo for 20 minutes? idk what kind of rank games you be having, but you seem "mature" i hope your next game is filled with feeders since you think it's perfectly okay for them to just feed on other's games.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

What?

You are saying nothing, you trying to get at roaming? You don't want to practice at roaming when your team is behind?

RainbowIcee2 votes

that helps depending on how bad the match gets, often enough the fed is the one roaming and you don't want to meet them. Anyways point is, feeding anywhere is not cool. Is fine if you do bad, it's not cool if you're just feeding because "it's normals who cares" throwing a tantrum because you lost lane and causing the team the game because of it it's pretty terrible.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

often enough the fed is the one roaming and you don't want to meet them

Excellent you are learning how to ward.

And if someone feeds on purpose they are a troll. It is literally not fun to feed because feeding stops you from playing the game. Also the entire rest of your post is something entirely different. If someone is flaming then you report them. If someone is griefing then you report them. They are literal options on the report menu.

Elikain2 votes

This is the most pointless argument i've ever heard. Winning is the point of any game mode. The difference is how you're supposed to accomplish victory.

You don't get the right to not care about winning if you're playing Normals and think it's fine because this game mode is less serious than Ranked. What if i am in a Normal game to practice a champion with the intent to play it in Ranked? Then you're ruining my chances of having a decent game as i can't actually get experience i need because you don't honestly care if you're jerking off with one hand and playing with the other or you'd want to try playing League with your johnson.

Leave those experiments for custom or AI games.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

Winning is the point of any game mode

No it's not. People play videogames to have fun. If you have fun winning and optimizing your chance of winning then play Ranked. If you would just like to win but not really be tryhard about it then play Unranked.

Other people goofing off doesn't inhibit your practice of a champion. If anything, oddball stuff helps you more because it helps highlight how your champion performs in edge cases and forces you to understand what your champ is good or bad at in various scenarios. Learning to be flexible is crucial in Ranked play.

3TWarrior2 votes

except league isn't only a videogame...it's a competition. it's a game that has been made into a competition

if you are playing with friends, you can do crazy things but random people who enjoy the game for the game do not want "crazy" in the mix

play skyrim as a "game" or mario or zelda or any game where there is no point to winning but to have fun

if you play a serious "game", then the point is to strive to win but have fun while doing so, and normally, you abandon tactics that prove ineffective despite whether the intentions were fun

basketball with friends: fun

serious basketball with friends: competition

basketball with random people: usually serious but can allow for discrepencies such as a learning experience

serious basketball with random people(or basically sports): beat them or go home unless there's a good sportsmanship gesture

The only thing that matches your definition of

it's a game that has been made into a competition

Is Ranked and Tournament play.

Elikain3 votes

Yes, it is. I don't really care how you interpret video games as everyone has a different definition of why they choose to spend time on them. I don't like my time being wasted by people who don't want to win so you have no reason to be in my team. And since i don't get to choose who's on my team, the rule of the game is that you have to try to win a game.

League, as a game that incorporates a PvP environment. Is a competition. Since any queue has Matchmaking, every queue also has its own MMR ladder (probably not RGM).

No matter which queue you're playing, there are no draws. One team will win, one will lose. "Tryharding" isn't a term. It's an excuse that someone uses to excuse themselves from feeding because they wanted to make the game "fun" for them. If your way of having "fun" is diminishing your team's chances of victory, regardless of what game mode you're playing, you're in violation of the Summoner's Code.

Other people goofing off doesn't inhibit your practice of a champion.

Yea, it does. If i'm playing a Marksman and you're not even a support, are taking my CS and are not on my lane, you bet your ass that you're destroying my experience for the sake of your own. If someone's goofing off and not even trying to win, that's no longer a fair 5v5. I can't practice my champion as i should because you're interfering. Your imposing your own playstyle on someone else.

Again, if you're about to goof off, play custom games with 5-10 willing players or AI games. If it's irrelevant for you if you're going to win or lose, don't involve random players in your foul play, regardless of the queue type.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

And since i don't get to choose who's on my team, the rule of the game is that you have to try to win a game.

Ah, so you are the sole person who gets to define how the videogame works because arbitrary reasons. If you are going to say nothing then post nothing.

"Tryharding" isn't a term.

YES IT IS.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=try-hard https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/tryhard https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/245280/what-does-tryhard-mean-exactly https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/us/try-hard

IT WAS FIRST USED IN THE 1920S

If i'm playing a Marksman and you're not even a support, are taking my CS and are not on my lane

Oh also way to go picking the most extreme example. And I hope you are using this in the most extreme way because Supports farming and roaming are extremely legit and powerful options.

Elikain2 votes

I'm just going to say this again:

If your way of having "fun" is diminishing your team's chances of victory, regardless of what game mode you're playing, you're in violation of the Summoner's Code.

Read the Summoner's Code first, then come here with a loop hole that allows you to not give a shit about winning the game, in a queue that isn't yours. Again, if you want to play without the care of winning or losing, play customs with your friends or AI games. If you're ruining my games with your "i don't give a shit" attitude, i have a valid reason to report you.

If i can't stop you with logic to make this mistake, try it your way and see what happens. I'd love to see you on the boards about your "wrongful" ban so that i can say: "i told you so".

Tobias Brackner1 votes

If your way of having "fun" is diminishing your team's chances of victory

This is a ranked way of thinking. Play more videogames, you'll finds all kinds of ways to try and win and goof off.

TheSingularity3 votes

Perhaps a competitive scene is desired, but one doesn't want the anxiety of potentially dropping rank.

There's far less to lose and just as much to gain satisfaction wise as rank isn't on the line for some people. Of course this differs from person to person. Perhaps one recieves great satisfaction from simply winning, the other from achieving a certain rank

Tobias Brackner2 votes

If a person wants to focus on winning but doesn't want to deal with an imaginary medallion changing color and number then they have no right to complain about people not sharing their goal in unranked.

Supreme Senpai692 votes

The goal of any game normal blind ranked ARAM whatever, the goal is to win. If you don't wanna win play a custom or play bots.

goofing off =/= doesn't want to win

Actually no, people end up goofing off in ranked too if they're ahead in lower ELOs and end up throwing. Doesn't matter if you're still on your A-game, they've sunk themselves to a C-game.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

Then talk to your team, remind them they are playing ranked and not to goof off.

Supreme Senpai692 votes

Nothing wrong with goofing off in normals if you're trying to win. But if you're not trying to win get the hell out of normals and into a custom. It's not fair to your teammates.
