So custom announcer packs still works, even with the new client, I take it? I've only installed a Leblanc VO mod myself - never looked too much into announcers (nor what is actually out there of custom ones).

Of course they do. Same file system.

To disable the Dark Star one, just be in game and use the sound settings (Doesn't appear in the In-Game section of the in client options)

...You wouldn't happen to know where to put custom login screens in the new client as well? Because those aren't where they used to be.

I haven't given it a whole-hearted go, but from what I have seen, I get a feeling the logins are server stored now. I surely hope not - I want my good old Quinn login back. :(

Depending on how your ally dies he could say ''a noob has been slain'', ''we have dead weight'', etc. there is so much potential for his savagery as an announcer. Too bad Riot doesn't like good ideas, any other MOBA has custom announcers yet Riot doesn't do it.

Fun fact, i started playing hots and saw immediately that riot took the "stunned, rooted" pop ups from hots. Which honestly is unnecessary imo but ofc riot is unwilling to give us announcers.

Samuel would require them to create a voice profanity filter, because Samuel without saying motherfucker wouldn't be Samuel. Imagine his voice for first blood if your team gets it, ''that motherfucker is gonna have a rough time now'', so much potential. Also, Morgan Freeman should be in the game, too.

PS: You can find Samuel and Morgan Freeman announcer packs on YT, a voice impersonator did it, it's very cool.

yes, but hots is based on games like starcraft, warcraft, diablo, and overwatch. Riot basically copied concepts from warcraft and diablo. Mordekaiser for exemple is a mashup between leoric (diablo) and arthas (warcraft)

the Dinamic Queue was implemented in hots before getting adopted by lol. and then hots switched to solo queue and rito followed.

I'm actually kinda confused why they don't do more of these different announcers more often. If you look at Starcraft 2, Blizzard's got many different characters playing as announcers including Jim Raynor, Sarah Kerrigan, and Artanis. So why not have Riot be able to make different characters announce in games? I would LOVE to hear my main (Karthus) announce all my games :P

It's not like Riot doesn't have the tech, they currently have an option to turn OFF the DS Thresh announcer, which means they have the capability of switching audio files around for changing announcers. This means that potentially, Riot games could create a selection of different announcers in the future, like returning GP or DS thresh to to be available.

How long is gp announcer ago? Two years? And every once in a while it pops up that different announcer would be really really fun. And riot just ignores that completely. Would love to hear gp once again.

You can toggle the voice in your sound options. Its only available while in-game (the client doesn't have it for some reason) and its located in the same are as changing the summoner's rift music.

If you mean permanently being allowed to toggle it and not just for the event, even though I don't like the voice I'm on board with this. (please bring back GP announcer)

Here's the thing: They could team up with voice actors or YouTubers or whatever and then sell Announcer Voice Packs on the store for people who wanted a custom announcer.

I can think of a couple people I'd buy the pack for.

Your comment makes no sense and hopefully you're trolling. In case you aren't, if by any holy reason an announcer pack offers some ''advantage'', they can disable it in tournaments, there, problem solved.

dota 2 is doing it and it got pretty popular. using both champion and other game's characters voices.
