wait.
Don’t let anyone call you a one-trick.
this is dumb. dont bash people for beeing one tricks. we usually make it further than the meta slaves when compared to the same skill levels.

TBH it seems more like averaged out player analysis to see what champs are similar to what you like rather than anything that's explicitly bashing one tricks, they had the same feature last year without mentioning one tricks so its probably just for flavor
I take the "dont be a one trick" thing about as seriously as I take their "ITS OK TO BE A NOOB, NOOB" campaign
But also mostly only on that one champ. Heard it a lot that high elo players (around master+)heavily dislike one tricks. Dunno if that's true tho.
I can see that being true because in my opinion, the one trick high elo players will pick their champ everytime they have the chance despite having a bad team comp for it.
You make it further than the meta slaves, true. But you still need a variety of champions to do well. If for no other reason than that your champion will eventually be banned.
Unless, of course, you main Aatrox or Skarner. Then you're safe from that.
On my year in review Aatrox is featured in my notable achievements for my 72.4% winrate on him. I am no one trick by any means, but he is my 2nd highest mastery champion, so I do play him quite a lot. Surprisingly, I find him banned a fair amount, probably just as a joke or because he is the first one alphabetically.

Being a one trick is objectively worse than having a solid pool of champions, which is also better than being a meta slave.
Being a one trick got me from silver 5 to gold 2 with jungle Aatrox in season 7 (doesn't work now with new runes). I'm currently planning my next move in normals and it seems like once the season starts I'll be doing harvest Vi or glacial Tahm jungle.
True. This is how it usually goes for people that can play 1 champ and can't adapt:
I myself usually only play 1 to 2 champs in ranked unless they are picked/banned but not everyone who plays more than 1-2 champs is a meta slave. A meta slave is someone who only plays the top tier champions. Calling someone who plays multiple champs and roles a meta slave is just as dumb.
a meta is not represented by a champ tho. they prolly don't say that based off of just 1 fact aka playing more than 2 champs...
