Pronto there is no counter to being perma snared, it's not fun to face and it sure as hell isn't intuitive to do

Dunno why someone downvoted you. At lvl 9 with 20% CDR, using ult, the snare CD is lower than the snare time so it literally is a perma snare for the duration of the ult. The ult isn't short either; it's 6 seconds at all levels. Ryze is a joke.

Ever hear of mercury treads? 35% reduced CC it's very useful vs him maybe you should but them, but I do agree his damage is pretty retarded atm, I have no problem with his snare tho.

He got mega buffed. The 6 second duration for both his Ultimate and Passive at all levels was a massive buff.

I never played him or against him very much, I wouldn't know much about his power level. I know I got some random downvote because it might come across as such, but I'm just noting that people thought he was gutted after the change. People are quick to jump to conclusions, for that matter.

It happens sometimes, ya know? People think something is a huge nerf and it can turn out to be a buff, and vice versa. I'm just noting the pattern, nothing more.

He was actually pretty trash before the buffs to his durations.

I don't think he is that far off from being balanced, he just needs the Kennen treatment for his Root. 50% less duration if you use it on a target again after 6-7 seconds.

That sounds pretty reasonable. Make his laning less frustrating to play against.

Now, I'd have to playtest him first, granted, before I give proper opinions on him (I own him like almost every other player, but never use him).

His snare is pretty short. If you think it's bad, try playing against Morgana

With his passive he can perma snare. In some pro event atm he has been 100% banned.

You have convinced me. Great link showing how OP he is at the moment. I guess I haven't had to face a good Ryze yet. The ones showing him chaining at level 7 are ridiculous. He wasn't even fed on any of those clips and he was doing 2v1s.
