Ranked Question

So last season S4 I went 3-7 with my placement matches and got placed in Silver 5, I am wondering if I get the same wins this season S5 I will get placed in Silver 5 again or if I get more possibly get placed in higher Silver. A lot of people complain about how this season is all weird and they got a lower division with the same placement match win lose ratio. I don't know if it is because they got carried to their wins this season and they were better last season, giving them a better division. I don't know if riot considers your KDA and wins for the provisional matches.

no they did a soft reset. 9/10 you will get a lower division ten what you ended up in so if you ended up in silver 5 when the season ended and you dont win all or majority of your placement matches then you will get put into bronze. if your skill is higher you will eventually be able to climb out but it takes some hard work.

By "majority" you mean if I get like a 6-4 for placement matches I will stay Silver 5? and anything higher than 6 wins will get me a little bit higher? Like silver 3?

honestly i have no idea. i placed silver 4 last preseason and then when the season came around i went 7-3 in my placement's and got bronze 5. but i heard from some people that they had got 8/10 and stayed the same 9/10 and 10/10 and moved up. but me i went 7-3 and got b5 so idk how they do it.

Your placement depends on where you finished the last season and whether you win or lose your placement matches (and, to a small degree, the MMR of the players you go up against in your placements). No in-game stats are ever taken into account, just whether your team won or not.

Generally it seems like they made it harder to place where you were or higher this season compared to previous ones. Going 3-7 would definitely place you lower than you finished last year.
