A message to everyone who thinks that every sensible person who plays League doesn't enjoy it:
You are an ass.
Now, let me get to explaining why:
This is not by any means your garden-variety disrespect. You are straight-up insulting the intelligence of everyone who plays League, including those that don't like it. You are saying that everyone around you has absolutely no capacity to have a different perspective than you, and that the idea that anyone wouldn't share your opinion is utterly asinine. You are saying that the people around you are so utterly simple-minded that they have no choice but to either agree with you or get ostracized. You are denying that every player of League is on the same level of intelligence and cognitive ability as you, and therefore cannot, in any capacity relating to League, find enjoyment in it despite any personal experiences, differing opinions, or likes and dislikes.
We live in a day and age where ideas are spread and accepted at a greater rate than ever before thanks to the internet. However, we still encounter the same problems that we did before: A refusal to acknowledge the intelligence of others. A refusal to show a sense of empathy; to give a person the benefit of the doubt that maybe there is a legitimate, logical reason that they like the game that you can come to understand, even if you don't agree, and that perhaps they understand your reasoning as well, but simply choose to disagree.
It's time that a lot of people give consideration to the idea that maybe people still like League not because there's something that they don't understand, but rather because there's something about them as a person that you can respect that makes them like the game.
That's why it pains me so much to see all these posts:
"Why does Riot never listen to the community?"
Because those that share the same opinions as the OP don't speak for the entire community. Riot has to perform their own investigation before changing anything to see if there's truly a problem. What may be an issue to you may not be to someone else. Besides, the only ones who say anything are the ones who want to complain. If the content ones stay understandably silent since they have no reason to speak out, then we have no idea what the split is.
"This is the worst League has ever been"
That isn't fact. That's your personal opinion. Other people may think differently and may have a very good reason for thinking differently. That doesn't mean you have to change your views. In the words of Aristotle, "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." You don't have to agree with a given opinion, but you should recognize that the other person is a human being, too, and is therefore completely capable of forming their own opinion through sound logic.
"Nobody has fun playing League anymore"
That is your experience, and possibly that of a few of your friends and possibly some internet personalities or esports players, and I respect that. However, you have to understand that those who disagree with you have their own experiences which may be vastly different than yours.
I'm not asking you all to stop arguing and just agree to disagree. But I do want you to at least give the other person some thought and treat them like a human being: equal to yourself.
