1st game as a new champion. (Kalista)
So Kalista is our new adc of league. I like her so far because of the jumping between attacks, and I typically build a bit of mobility on my adcs. (Yes a lot of you think boots of swiftness 3rd tier is bad, but it saves me countless times when I can predict a gank and "swiftly" move out of the danger zone.) So the mobility is a huge plus for me. Next we have her mobile ward which is awesome. (Did I mention the part about predicting ganks?) Well the warding skill of hers helps a ton! Now to the potential nerf I see with her wards....
The ward disappears after it goes it's rounds so many times. I notice that if you aim the skill over a wall, and the wall takes a while to walk around (or in the wards case, hover around) it seems to actually make the ward last longer because it disappears after so many rounds, and by making it go around a wall, it takes longer to go the rounds. This was only my 1st game as Kalista so I could very well be wrong about this. I'll keep my eyes on the time length of the ward next game. Pretty sure if this is true, it might get nerfed if it becomes a problem.
Anyways, her passive that deals bonus dmg when your soulbound player attacks with you is quite good, but I feel like late game it's use is absent, as the player you soulbind will run off and do their own thing. The ult was UBER when I saved my fluffy lil teemo from Sions brute strength, then we turned the tides when teemo darted back at him when Sion tried to focus me. I was able to kite fairly well enough to avoid most of his attacks and together we took down this huge tank.
The Q has a 1.0 ratio it seems and I'm wondering how ling that will last. I know the "Zap" on jinx when she was released had a good scaling also, but they hardcore nerfed the dmg to account for "Zaps" slow effect and range. While the Q on Kalista doesn't have the slow like jinx, it procs Kalistas passive and gives that mobility so in a sense has the same utility.
I went 20/12/18 in this 1st of many kalista games which isn't bad, but I could do a lot better. Several of my would-be kills were taken from me so I could have a lot more kills, BUT I had already reached my full build so my team had more use out of the kill gold than I, so I cant complain there. Just wish our Zed wasn't so Toxic. He fed like hell, he ranted like hell, he was just hell. Ohhh well.....
Now I know a few of you will go into my match history and see the 2 IEs I stacked, then come back and be all like. "This guy is a joke, IE passive doesn't stack." I'm aware of that. I get 2 IEs anyways because while the "passive" does NOT stack, the raw damage and crit chance DOES, and I build for high base dmg and 100% crit. My defense in nearly ALL my adc games comes from my mobility I get from my Boots/Phatom Dancer/static shiv. In most games (When I adc) the mobility and positioning are all the defense I need, so I can put more into items for pure damage, which is what I feel an adc SHOULD do. Yes it can be hard but ever since I started playing adc with this type of style, I've started developing better positioning habbits and is starting me down a good path. (I still suck hard at other roles as you can see in my match history) but I feel I'm getting a lot better at adc. Yes I'm obviously not pro. I only had ONE single game where I had 40 kills but that was as Fiora and I was lucky enough that the other team didn't build armor at all. I'm aware I'm not pro so my word on how to play means little to some of you, I'm just telling you what I've done to my play style and it seems to be improving now.
I'm ending my post here, I'm getting uber off topic.
I like cats.
Have a nice day.
