Ain't a support?

Played Xer as a support. Landed plenty of aoe dmg/ slows as well as my stuns. I warded key areas. I set up what shoulda been easy kills for our tristana.

Her failing at cs, her constantly jumping (literally) into 1v3 fights, and her rage sitting at spawn is my fault? For playing Xer as a support?

She did bad cause of me? When I Played correctly?

Don't make me laugh! I did everything I needed to and then some. End game screen I get BOMBARDED with rage comments.

"Xer isn't a support!"

"You're an idiot!"

"You're bad!"

Uhh, no. If champs like Annie and ((BRAND)) can support, so can Xer, and Xer has more reliable CC than both of them. It bugs me that bad players wanna get toxic cause they are simple meta sheep who can't even play the meta right and then just wanna blame everyone else for their own mistakes.

GG, we lost but I played well regardless and had fun, good day. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

What champ can't support

As long as you do your job of warding and peeling for your adc, ANYTHING can be a support.

Even Teemo . That's why he's universal.

Xerath is probably one of the better Bot mages and is stronger than Morde when it comes to a CSing AP imo.

Support isn't bad and his stun makes for good counter-siege while R being able to safely threaten a dragon attempt / invasion assist.

As long as you sightstone+have some sort of utility, go for it. In normals at least.

My slow grind of getting mastery 5 everyone as bot/sup (which is to say, almost always sup) is definitely going to get interesting when I run out of conventional supports, but in the majority of cases I feel like it won't actually be that bad as long as the team doesn't tilt over it.

As long as you built sightstone I would have no issue with you. Honestly, I can accept any weird support as long as it makes sense. Have to have some kind of CC, buffs, or utility and Xerath is in there. That player was just a baby.

Sigh

Just got out of a Velkoz game with the ADC bashing about how it's my fault he couldn't do stuff. I was 2/4/6 at the time with my most recent death being body blocking Jhinn ult for our low jungler so he got out alive.

End of game we won with him having second highest damage to champs and me having the highest, and he was still bashing me.

Probably because he isn't a support. He doesn't offer anything other than a single target slow moving stun and some ranged damage. There are tons of mid lane picks that already provide that and allow supports to either be tanks or provide utility unlike Xerath.
