Anyone Remember when Riot Said:

III DNA III·7/15/2015, 10:57:11 PM·13 votes·21,463 views

Back when Riot made changes to wards, putting a 3 stealth ward limit per person, they (Riot) specifically stated that they would keep an eye on this change and see what develops. The idea behind this change was to get the team as a whole to work together on vision.

Not once since then has Riot spoken of this change and the impact it has had if any.

Well, from what I can see, in 95% of games (or somehow just my games) ever since the change, no one person but the support has been warding..... still. The ability to get decent vision on the map was killed by this change because most players don't seem to realize vision wins games.

My point here is that I (and maybe others) would like Riot to finally respond on the subject. (Or maybe be directed to a page in which they have, in the event I somehow missed it.)

Thanks~

Overall we're pretty happy with the ward limit per person. There's a limit to how much vision we think's right for the game (FOW's there for a reason), so the limit per player's allowed us to offer vision in other ways. Trinkets in particular we're really happy with - they generate some interesting gameplay. It's also put supports in a much more interesting spot, where they're able to invest in items rather than being forced to sink anywhere near as much money into vision.

Something that is a bit of barrier to appropriate trinket use though for some players is that they're put off by the upgrade cost. We're planning to test removing the gold cost for the upgraded versions in the preseason as a result, find out if that has a good effect on the game. You should pretty much always be upgrading them as is, so it's a change that's got the potential to help players that aren't appreciating the vision system yet engage with it more. At the same time it would also free up a bit of gold for players that are buying the upgrades at present.

Warding has changed my life. It's a shame to see that I am the only one warding even now.

item 3361 is seriously too good to be true.

I've noticed that no matter what role I play, I tend to do the most warding. Of course, I came up as a support main, starting back in season 3 when I was around level 20. But I seem to be a rarity, and I do often see exactly the same thing you see - nobody warding. That's why I main support - if I don't, warding never gets done. It's nothing for me to put down 30+ wards a game in almost any role other than ADC. Even then, I ward pretty consistently.

make cv a support mastery and remove the spellvamp/lifesteal mastery let the cv recover some sightstone wards over time so you dont have to back to base all the time to refresh or based on how many wards you already placed let it give you 1 free sightstone ward for every 6 or 10 wards placed.

I've seen huge increases in the amount of wards placed since the introduction of trinkets, while people still dont actually buy wards as often as they should bringing trinkets into the game was a change that was for the better. And how has putting a limit on wards killed the amount of vision you have on the map? Imo a player shouldn't have to place more than 3 wards on the map, if your team is warding collectively then the 3 ward limit wouldn't be an issue, odds are the people you play with don't really realize how important wards are, but personally I tend to see quite a few people pick up wards and upgrade trinkets asap, and love the new vision changes they've been pumping out recently. They've introduced cheaper and more accessible vision tools but they had to put in the ward limit so that a team couldnt just remove FoW completely (supports would upgrade their sightstones and just pump out wards like no tomorrow, as well as junglers) If there's one thing I absolutely agree with one hundred percent right now, it's the vision changes.

I don't see a single upgraded green trinket (or upgraded trinket at all) in your entire match history.

Check my match history. That's what yours should look like before you complain of lack of vision control.

Just your game because you are probably low mmr/elo. Higher level players really pay attention to vision and prioritize vision a lot more than lower level players..

I am annoyed that the sightstone doesn't automatically recharge like the more basic vision items. It costs a lot of gold, and it should be a better item.

If this happens remove Rengar Evelynn Talon along with the cost.

Riot's tutorials never stress the importance of vision so people never learn. only thing they learn about this game is watch lcs to find out who they're going to instalock in my next ranked game and feed with.
