Riot, as a whole, is an amazing company

I was going to write quite a hefty post, but alas, I'm too lazy and all the points I was going to make have already been said before, so here's the short version:

Sometimes people seem to forget that Riot is a far bigger company than solely the balance team itself. It's very common seeing people here blaming "Riot" for balance issues, when the vast majority of Rioters have nothing to do with it. Riot, as a company, are perhaps the best devs of any game I've ever played. That being said, it seems that all discontent and quitting players in the last year has been the balance team's fault.

So... I have nothing personal against anyone of the balance team nor do I know any of them. I also can't give you a single person that I'm entirely sure is able to balance the game properly as an alternative. That being said, if the current balance team have simply proven, again and again, that they're incapable of balancing the game properly, a good start would be to atleast attempt and try to give the job to somebody else.

I hate to see this game being hated (and I see it on every other platform as well - not just these boards, and not just LoL-related platforms), just because of one incompetent team at Riot.

I was so happy about reading the beginning, slowly turns to a :| face and then just do a face-palm. You can't blame anyone for the thing you are describing. You can put kinda anybody into the balance-team and it will never, really never be fully balanced. The reason? Every single change is affecting something in the game. To predict that perfectly for every single change? Not possible. There is only one way to balance it perfectly - stagnation. And that won't happen.

well of course,, i mean the lore team is amazing and there are a bunch of other teams also doing amazing jobs.

but at the end of the day. if the game in unplayable or unfun because of the balance team fucks everything up. thats on riot.

ANY single person could have looked and the jugnle exp and scuttle changes and known it was a horrific idea to add them.. and maybe they did.. but they either said nothing or did nothing.

and because of it a LOT of people are quitting.

Or maybe it's just that nobody else did look at it? Or maybe it's that they didn't think it'd have been bad?

Or maybe it's just that most of the changes were good?

Or maybe they're just not as bad as ~30 people say they are?

most of the changes were good?

the only "net positive jungle change was the change to item 1039 effect, which helps AP junglers,

but it means jack shit when ap junglers flat out don't exist outside of Nunu because none of them can duel at lvl 2 or contest scuttle.

even the vast majority of AD junglers got fucked over as well. i mean if we had to contest a scuttle at lvl 3.. that would least it a BIT more even.

but lvl 2 contest of scuttle complete fucks up every jungler who A. cant lvl 2 duel B. cant level 2 duel with the 2 skills the would need in order to clear the jungle C. aren't Nunu

The huge problem with AP junglers is every AD got + 9 armor and + 9 AD and base damage on ability compensation with the new runes, meanwhile AP junglers only got + scaling HP. They say that not giving AP compensation for the AP they took early equals the SCALING MR runes that people took. Which only matters late game whereas the AP mattered IMMEDIATELY early game. And even if it was balanced, which it even remotely isn't, AP got dicked anyway since it doesn't matter with jungle creeps. AP have less stats to take on the camps compared to AD. To sum up, AP got dicked with zero blue/red compensation while AD not only got red compensation but also base damage increase.

So not only were AP already weak in the jungle to start, it's asinine to even think AP are balanced compared to AD early in lane/jungle. I would say the only reasonable change would be to give all AP champions + 9 AD at the least so when their abilities are on CD they can do more damage since all need to auto in the jungle.

If I had one day to sit down and fiddle with all the numbers, this game would be 100% balanced. Doesn't take a genius to see where Riot's bias and ignorance keeps playing into balancing the game.

To fix a problem, you must first recognize there is one.

They have to know and believe there's an issue, which they don't. You ever come across someone who said they're open to any new ideas, but turns out that's just something they make up so people will talk to them? Yeah, that's the balance team.

They "say" they're hearing player feedback all the time, but how can we believe that when they make ridiculous balance choices in isolation and without any player input?

Have you ever actually looked at the player input?

It's generally just screeching about ADCs, Yasuo, or whatever assassin it is. Or they're whining for bruiser buffs when most bruisers have an above 50% winrate. Or they're complaining that a support is actually relevant now.

Uh...yeah, I'm not saying they should place the same amount of value on everything. As a developer, it's their job to filter out the ones that aren't useful. That's quite obvious.
