The fact is that he also has wave clear on par with anivia for whatever reason. Magic dmg on his passive and is one of the safest champ in the game.

Zed has been a top-tier pick and around A+ level since the start of season 3.

While Zed hasn't been S tier much and he's not cancer to play against: his unshakable standing as a solid pick could stand to take a hit to keep the game from becoming really stale. At a certain point it's funner to play against other champions regardless of how good or bad their design is just to keep the game interesting.
