Everyone claims supports do nothing and are boring to play, but the only "supports" anyone plays anymore are 
and they just basically become an AP carry,maybe with a 
if your team is lucky. Even the LCS it's usually zyra vs malz or something similar.

Well, I mean, you're dead and won't be alive the next teamfight, so I'm not really bothered burning an ult just to make sure our team gets the shutdown.
never forget the impossible to kill old soraka, healing herself getting armor and having magic resist passive you cant kill her, nor you can kill her team without killing her, ohh good times

It's funnier when the game is going slow and people waste 2-3 ultimates for a support and they complain like they're worth gold sometimes more than their adc cus the 0/0/15 janna is worth more than the 2/5 adc

let's not forget 
- if you ult the person she's with and DON'T kill them with it - you've done absoluely nothing - it's better to ult the raka and make sure that you actually do SOME damage
It's funny when people even scream this about other supps at times. Pre-nerf 6.19 Soraka was absolutely filthy. If you didn't aim her in teamfights the enemy team would be at 80% Health no matter what you did. Not to argue she's much better now, but with her ult no longer curing GW's, she's a lot more manageable.
a zyra or brand is very easily a bigger threat in teamfights than the adc (obviously conditionally). mage supports have more CC, more aoe damage, and are way stronger earlier in the game so focusing them is more than a good idea. many would argue this is a huge flaw in the system but really the core problem is that adcs are worthless early and more often than not you can just buy a ninja tabi and pretend like they dont exist in early teamfights
Depends on the situation. Sometimes I do consider getting ulted as the support (and dieing) a net victory even if I'm slightly muffed that my grade is probably gonna suffer for it, since it probably means that we won the teamfight as a result.
If I'm getting murder ulted when off on my own, then that's just me getting caught out and I don't expect solo queue randoms to be coordinated enough promptly force a fight while the ult is down.
And y'know, if they're fed supports then sure they're probably worth killing if they're actually bigger/scarier than the mid laner.

In the last 2 days of playing Malz support, I have had second most damage on my team all but 1 out of I believe 5 games? Sometimes focusing the support isn't such a bad idea.
There's a difference in between wasting spells to turn fights into a 4v5 so the enemy team has absolutely no retaliation, and wasting spells just because you want a kill.
I actually want people to focus me so they have nothing else for my carries, so THEY will make you cry.
But hey, those kinds of kills are usually free, so why not.
"why focus the support zyra" maybe cuz shes low and closer to us and still worth 300 gold. didn't know i was supposed to walk through all her plants to chase that adc
