What is riot lane of reasoning at the moment they are deciding to put a resource bar on a character?
Example
Resourceless,Yet one is half mage and the other uses wind spells
They dont have any magical abilities, yet they use a mana bar
could someone enlighten me?
Slamurai Jack2 votesThe biggest reason for a champion's kit to be resourceless is for kits that effectively require every skill to be available at all times in order to be playable. Every resourceless champion has a kit of entirely low impact skills that require you to use them all in combination to be effective. Champions like Darius and Jarvan on the other hand have a disproportionate amount of their kit's power loaded into their Q, which are not only strong, but also safe to use. You need some kind of resource to limit champions with such strong singular spells. Typically it's mana.

Darius Q - Hitting with the edge of his axe we have 160 flat damage with 140% AD Also gives heal which we'll call utility. Mana Cost : 50 Jarvan Q - 250 flat damage 120% Bonus AD Also has utility in the form of reducing targets armor by 26% And capable of knock up if it connects with demacian standard(E). Mana cost 65 for just his Q or Q>E for 120 mana Riven Q - Assuming we hit three hits(which isnt hard) 270 flat damage + 180% AD scaling. Utility in the form of aoe knock up as well as unconditional gap closer/escape. Cost:? Free... So honestly I have no idea where they get their ideas for resourceless champions as opposed to giving resources. Just an example, feel free to talk about this in a civil manner. Because honestly I don't get it either.

Yosuke Apperu1 votesIt still doesn't seem to be enough to justify it as free. Darius also has no escapes and if J4 uses eq to go in he cant get out if riven does go in with q she can still dash out..
Slamurai Jack1 votesAt the risk of sounding uncivil, maybe you should play a champion at least a little before you start throwing your opinion out there. At least play her more than once in your life before you start talking about her resourcelessness is unfair. No, simply playing against a champion doesn't give you an adequate understanding of their power. You really do need to play them yourself.
Yosuke Apperu1 votesI have played her before multiple times.. lol Yeah she's fun.. but if she wants to she can literally run away forever.. You were talking about power being loaded into Q and I was making a comparison of the three. I understand she's entirely melee, I get that.. but it still shouldnt be free, no champ should be to be honest. That's my personal opinion. We can continue debating about this if you'd like, because I really do enjoy talking about this kind of stuff :)
