'Store credit' option

Runes Reforged: Picking your playstyle

Well there is this cool 'Store Credit' rune that I find really interesting. However what might be even better if added to the game, is allowing champions to leave gold in the fountain for other to use, maybe even give it some interest over time spent unused. I think all strategy games that include a monetary value allow trading it within teammates, I don't know why LoL doesn't.

Supports already give as many kills away to their carries as possible, while avoiding farming. I'd hate to live in a world where they're also expected to donate constantly to their teammates. Can you imagine the "Support" role turning into which player can stay alive while collecting ambient gold on zero items the longest? Boots plus Sightstone, done forever! Ugh.

Supports with low damage and high utility Janna Soraka and such are already trash tier at. Also it won't be 'expected' from anyone to donate gold, also there could be a scaling cap over time elapsed.

Both of those lovely ladies are at 52-53% win rate currently. Trash tier?

And yes, they'd be expected, up to any established cap. That's how the meta would shift. Support is a role that intentionally gimps itself in order to better the team's chances of winning, by allowing others to farm and get fed in lieu of themselves. The possibility of donating gold would translate quickly to the expectation that supports would shift all possible funds to their carries, up to full build.

Those lovely ladies have 0% competitive pick rate, I call that trash tier (only somewhat good in silver solo queue).

I was already going off Plat+ ratings. In Diamond+, they're still both above 50% win rate, though Soraka has low popularity. Janna is 15th most popular champ overall at that level, actually.

I must say, though, I'm not a fan of how you debate topics. You're picking the least relevant thing about what I'm trying to say and needling at it. I addressed your main point about Store Credit with what I believe to be well-reasoned skepticism, but you'd rather poke at some minor thing I mentioned in passing than actually addressing the main point of YOUR THREAD.

Actually Janna is shit in competitive, that's what you are starting off your argument with and it doesn't stand. Non LCS games = irrelevant measure to the champion's true power. That is why Riot has always been balancing the meta by looking at what pros (ab)use, not by looking at solo queue data.

If you're just going to blindly straw man me into oblivion then we have nothing more to discuss. Your idea sucks.

LCS is a completely different game from Soloque, even challenger soloque. Janna is good in high elo soloque, and not used in competitive.

Maybe, but professional matches determine the true power of a champion, that is why Master Yi is never going to be played professionally while being used by boosters for noob-slaying. This doesn't mean that Master Yi is a good champion.

0 in competitive? I'm guessing you don't watch any competitive matches.

Oh snap, guess you don't watch enough competitive then. How about you take that downvote back? ;)

Oh, I'm sorry you had a tough time using the drop down boxes. And the summer split is 4 weeks in. Look at spring split as well. Unless you consider a couple of months sooo long ago.

They may not be picked often, but they're picked more than a lot of other champions.

Looks like the pros use them every day. I guess if you were better you could learn to use them as well.

Yes, couple of months shifts 10+ champions in and out of meta, as well as macro game and strategy. Many champions who were used in spring split are nowhere to be found now, Janna and Soraka are just some of these.

Because it would so much easier to come back from being behind?

OopsSheWas121 votes

Is that a problem?

Ralanr1 votes

It drastically reduces the effort you put into your snowball.

Like, if I shut down the enemy adc as the jungler all lane, but suddenly they come back faster because their snowballing top laner shared gold, then my ability to shut them down was pointless.

Is that a problem?

Is it a problem in counter strike when someone buys a whole gun and drops it for one of his teammates?

I've been playing since season 2, and now in season 7 the games are more snowbally than ever. Furthermore, games can easily be ended already with a Rift Herald taken, let alone Baron at sub 25 minutes. Riot added surrender vote to 15 minutes for a reason.

At least it teaches people about how credit works kinda. Currently 18 and still have very limited knowledge on the whole system, too busy with league and school to sit down and look at credit.

In my country, kids learn about credit at 12-13 years of age, god bless I'm not a US citizen.

I don't live in the US

Well that's the point, how much gold can the opposing top accrue and leave behind and maintain their lead?
