are pretty much the only crit items decent on him and it's a very fun build, but generally not something kinda troll.
He's just in a really really bad spot atm with trinity force, fervor being so strong top lane...like, he can't really use either that well.
I miss ghostblade/atma's for crit on garen though.

like Atma's Impaler, if that's what it was called, or the Lightbringer item where it was better for someone like a tank to have it as they're near the front.
But really when garen's E is aleady doing high lvls of scaling AD damage, why does it even need to be able to crit as it procs so many times.... without having to stop for auto-attack animation... sigh

I remember one time I saw a Garen purchase Zeal to increase his crit chance, which was possibly one of the dumbest things I've seen someone do in this game, as far as itemization is concerned. There was once a time when crit/AD was much easier to purchase (i.e. Atmas Impaler) and Riot decided to keep that part of his kit intact, even though itemization no longer accommodates it.
Sasogwa1 votesActually crit is bad on him because his E critting formula is trash. Those are extremely reduced crits : bonus crit damage = 100% x (0.5 + bonus critical strike damage).

That is to say his crits, instead of being damage x (2 + bonus crit. damage from IE and runes), are x (1.5 + bonus crit.)
All in all, his crits start at 150% instead of 200% because Riot hates him. Basically.
