Nami Mid viability

I don't know why but I love nami mid. How viable would you rate her from a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most viable? I plan to practice her along with Karma mid and jungle in general this pre-season so do you think team would rage if I went nami mid in a game especially in rank? Mind you I am only gold V so I think that allows more free room for silly champs since you can still easily win in that category.

I'm in Silver, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. It works because of free harass with her W. Often times it's hard to get in range to harass with her E, and her Q can be challenging to hit from time to time. She's an excellent counter to low mobility champs because of her Q. However, her scaling is subpar (for good reason), and she's too squishy to do much late game. That's why your team would be mad at your for that pick. In other words, you'd have to win the game by about the twenty five to thirty minute mark, or risk falling off a power cliff. Oh and her viability is a 4.

Early I think mid Nami would be fine. You can effectively win trades with Ebb and Flow, as well as having good CC and utility with Q+E for ganks.

However mid to late game, you're going to start seeing some problems. Nami has mediocre waveclear and AP ratios. So generally when AP carries should be at their strongest, Nami's damage and utility just isn't going to be as strong as say an Orianna or Lux.

But hey, if you find success with it and have fun, then it's awesome! I would suggest testing the waters (heh) in normals with Midlane nami before moving on to ranked.
