Anyway to have support as my secondary and not always get support?

So my two best roles are mid and support by far. The other roles I just don't do super well in. The problem though is that if I put support as my secondary or primary, I will always get support and never mid. If i want to play some mid in ranked, I have to risk putting another role as my secondary, and if I get that role I probably won't do to well. Is there someway I can increase the chance of getting mid without always getting support or am I just forced to take the risk?

I know your feels since I'm a support main, but if I want to play mid or top I pretty much have to secondary whichever of those I don't primary even if I only in the mood to play one of them because if I secondary support I'll get it.

play a game as sup to get protected autofill. put preferred lane first and 2nd most contested as secondary.
