Shaco Technical Buffs

I have been playing Shaco a lot recently and have noticed that he is a lot better than people give him credit for. He has solid early ganks and decent pressure on the enemy late game through split pushing, boxes, and just destroying carries. However, Shaco's age is showing a lot and I think he could use a few technical buffs and maybe one actual buff to push him from a jungler that appears once a blue moon (although I have seen him a little more recently despite the grow in Tanks) to at least a jungler to consider at all times.

Deceive

  • The cool down now starts on cast rather than when Shaco becomes visible
  • Cool Down increased to 13/12.5/12/11.5/11 seconds from 11 seconds at all ranks

Shaco is a slippery jester and this change will mainly only be noticed if used to escape since most of the time when Shaco uses Deceive to kill, he is only invisible for 50% or less of the normal invisible duration. This is also a very small buff to Shaco's late game which could use a LITTLE help.

Jack In The Box

  • Now applies spell effects
  • Cool Down reduced to 16/15.5/15/14.5/14 seconds from 16 seconds at all ranks

I have no idea why this spell does not apply spell effects when Nidalee, Caitlyn, and Teemo traps do. Also, I have no idea why it's cool down is so incredibly high (to an extent). I can see why it needs to be above a certain number since we don't want boxes everywhere, but I don't see why it can't scale down a little per level.

Hallucinate

  • Now visibly has every buff Shaco has
  • Now casts fake abilities whenever Shaco casts an ability Deceive Becomes invisible but does not actually teleport or gain an enhanced attack. Still uses the critical hit animation on first attack out of stealth Jack In The Box Places a Jack in the Box at the target location that will become invisible but not fear or shoot when an enemy comes close, only dying Two-Shiv Poison Throws a dagger that deals no damage at the target when it comes into range
  • Now takes 50/25/0% increased damage from 50% increased at all ranks
  • Still deals 75% damage, but the numbers shown each basic attack are false and will seemingly deal 100% damage (This is Hallucinate right?)
  • The Shaco clone now looks in the way Shaco is facing and spawns inside Shaco (ignoring Shaco's unit collision) when spawned instead of facing the top up and spawning beside Shaco
  • Stats now benefit from Shaco's masteries and runes

This is what Shaco needs the most out of all of these changes. Just about everything here NEEDS to happen. No exceptions. The entire point of Shaco's ultimate is to fool the enemy that the clone is him and it is very hard when the clone is so obviously not him. The only thing I here that I don't think needs to be absolutely added is the Shaco clone taking gradually less damage as the ability's rank goes up. For an ultimate, this ability is incredibly lackluster most of the time and has little combat and sometimes even mind game use.

To be fair, OP seems to want some things that do qualify as QoL buffs (buffs, not just neutral changes). Shaco's boxes shouldn't be based on an unseen statistic; they do magic damage, meaning they should apply spell effects. His clone has been gimped (in terms of AI and how easy it is to tell it apart from Shaco) since the beta.

Some of the other changes OP has proposed (ex: fake abilities on the clone) would indeed enhance Shaco's thematics and greatly increase his complexity and ability to make amazing, tricky-jester-type plays.

I agree that Shaco doesn't need any major buffs, but if Riot could incorporate some of these ideas when they "rework" Shaco (which will hopefully just mean removing his permaslow... and maybe lowering his AP ratios so buffing him as an AD champion is more justifiable), he'd become a much more interesting character, to say the least.

I'd absolutely love to see some of these changes, but I'm not sure what Shaco could stand to lose in exchange for them. Everything you see in Shaco's kit (minus the high AP ratios... Unless you're a fan of AP Shaco. Again, nerfing those without removing them would be the easiest way to subtact power) is fairly integral to his success as a champion. The mini crit and E's high damage allow him to burst; W is the main way Shaco contributes in the late game (besides splitpushing); the clone is key to Shaco's dueling potential (and it's pretty iconic, despite being crippled by Riot's refusal to fix its glaring issues). It'll be difficult for Riot do do anything with him, and he's perfectly viable as-is... As much as I'd love to see some really cool clone pseudo-mechanics, I'd prefer that Shaco remain as he is (other than the clone QoL changes— buff indicators and AI fixing, and perhaps a change to the way it currently takes extra damage/does less damage) than see his current identity destroyed by Riot's less-than-reliable rework team.

I believe they are going to provide a rework for him sooner or later. So I'm sure they're not going to do anything major with him. As for the Q, with 40% CDR, he can cast his stealth again once it ends, after 3.1 seconds. I figured whatever purpose he may have with this overcomes the point of his build having 40% CDR.

Unfortunately, they said they did a lot of kits for him and I believe shelved him for now since none seemed to work. Anything shelved probably won't be coming out anytime soon unless it gets LCS play.

Except that his kit is outdated and the only noticable buff is to his ultimate.

No please, I don't need this champion in my games. The people who play him are either lunatic or mentally sick (or both) and no sane person enjoys this champion on either team.
