Riot's pathetic business model is why i'll never buy a skin

They will do anything to try to make you spend RP. Calling this game free to play is a complete joke.

First off, champions cost 6300 which is at least 50 hours of game play for just one champion. Even more absurd than that is that rune pages cost 10k-20k ip depending on what runes (why are cdr and health runes expensive as hell? Riot knows these runes are superior). Add more ip for more rune pages which are essential. You need at least 5 rune pages to be somewhat flexible to fill all roles.

Once you spend money on skins is not enough. They will constantly rebalance to make you quit your champion and play another champion to buy another skin on. Why do you think we see massive meta changes so often? Why do they gut champions that are overplayed but not overpowered? Simply because a lot of people have skins for those champions and they want them to play another champion and buy their skin. Why do you think they recently changed their refund policy on champion reworks and things like that? I couldn't get a refund on my soraka skins after her rework.

Riot isn't interested in fucking balance, they are intentionally making underpowered and overpowered champions to make people buy as many skins as possible.

The sad thing is that it's working, so many people are addicted to the point where they would suck riot's dick.

I do think things are a bit over the top price-wise in this game, but it most certainly is free to play. I get the impression you haven't played a lot of free to play games. Very few offer as much as this one does without forcing you to spend money.

I can only name two free-to-play games (not made by Valve, because they basically have unlimited funds) that have better value than League. If someone can name three I'll be impressed.

Oh, and if you really think you need 5 rune pages you're wrong. I just finished my third and only need one more to efficiently play pretty much every champ.

What should they do then?

"CDR Runes are superior"

On certain champions, particularly AD and AP casters/bruisers who tend to buy flat damage/defenses over full 40% cdr, they are useful.

They're not 100% the best runes, but situationally they're not that bad. Magic resist, however, is harder to come by than armor so it's usually better to take MR glyphs if you don't use said AD/AP casters/bruisers.

It was either this comment or something about his tin foil hat slipping. It's just a bit funny that for the example of "cost more so it's a thing that is stronger than everything else and was made cruelly and greedily more expensive by Riot" he chose CDR runes, which are only a good choice on some, certain champions.

Urgh, why can't we have a few less of THESE posts on GD, this constant bitching (sorry) is getting on my nerves.

I don't understand why people upvote these threads, it seems more like you're just angry at the system as you aren't getting what you want on a constant basis.

First of all, why are you bitching that Rito forces you to play the game to experience more features? As an example, lets use some other games: TF2, CS:GO, DOTA (Yes, i am just using these as they are popular and easy to relate to) All of these games have features that you cant just start off with and you have to play the game to get them. In TF2, you wont be getting all these cool weapons until you start playing enough and then they start dropping and you're like "Ah-ha! I'm getting rewards for playing!" and I find it works that way with League too. You won't just get IP to get something by staring at the main menu like a braindead person, you gotta actually play games to earn that IP to get your own reward, a new champion. Also, this game is Free To Play as there really isnt anything I find that gives other players an advantage over others. Sure, it might take longer with IP and not using actual money with RP but people arent just getting things like RP exclusive champions. This isn't even close to a free-to-play game, even RP users have to buy runes with IP to balance that out also, in fact, the only thing people with RP have that differs from others is skins, icons, and wards.

I hate to say it but you're a person that suffers from the whole, IPROBABLYJUSTWROTETHISTHREADBECAUSEIWASANGRYAFTERLANINGAGAINSTAKATARINAAmumu syndrome. I mean did you even re-read over all of this? "Rebalance to quit your champion"? you act like they purposely are trying to hunt down the champion that you like and nerf them into the ground when really they're just trying to fix things. Yeah, I can't really say anything on their last changes to champions as I am not the best at putting into words my feelings on balance and really the champions they change I really don't play so I cant say anything but really...people need to drop the whole "Rito is trying to ruin our champs!" thought.

As a company, they need to make money and all these free features (you know how you can have every champ without even spending a dime) really show that they aren't in it for the money but lets be serious, they need to make money to stay afloat but at least this game isnt a terrible Pay-To-Win where you get destroyed by people with OP classes that only members that spent money on the game can use (Implying a certain game)

And I would suck rito's dick any day....wait that didnt sound right

On another note, you only need two full rune pages to at least get to mid gold, done it multiply times.

The Rune system is the only thing I hate. Instead of getting to own a new champion, you gotta buy a bunch of Runes :( It's designed to make you want to spend RP, though of course you really don't have to. I'm the kind of person that wants every champion as an option, though. (I got 2 left to get)

Jamaree1 votes

I don't think runes should be as much as they are, or should be attainable in game personally, as for having every champion, meph, you will only play like 20 tops anyway.

Idk, I haven't been playing much and working on mastery for 29. I like a lot of champions.

Jesus o_o Can't imagine being overly decent at that many champions to be honest.

I could play ad morgana and get to mid gold, your point?

Jamaree1 votes

My point is you don't need stupid amounts of customization early on because until mid gold, your raw skill and a decent set up of basic runes is more then enough and by the time you hit that point, you can buy more runes from the games you have played.

I've never felt compelled to spend RP on anything but skins.

I LOVE games that give equal options to free players and paying customers. I have more time than money right now, so of course I don't mind grinding IP. Back when I was working, I COULD drop RP on a champion if I really wanted to. I had the option to do it. That said, I do wish runes were easier to acquire if they're only available with IP. I'm not blind to their absurd cost.

You know what would be a bad business model? If certain champions or the best runes were only available with real money. Shit like that makes me quit free to play games faster than anything.
