I Only Have One Request For This New "Reform" Feature Coming Soon

Zuil··39 votes·2,098 views

If that d/c player is in a premade, players of the premade can't take part in the vote to reform. I know it sounds rude, but if it isn't like this, every premade with a d/c will go something like this..

"Hey Taric is d/c, we should reform"

"Nah, his computer just crashed, he'll be back"

15 minutes and 36 deaths later

"A summoner has reconnected"

I mean not every game is like this but I hate the risk of it happening, please Riot.

I don't see how your vote should be weighted more than other people, just because you are...alone?

A vote is a vote. Everyone who has interest in that game has the right to present. There should be some consistency.

He's not saying that all premades shouldn't have a vote, he's saying that people who are premade with the AFK player shouldn't have a vote because they have a conflict of interest.

Llanite3 votes

Conflict of interest if they have to pick between their personal interest and professional duty.

Do they owe you the duty to protect your LP? What did you give them in exchange?

Do citizens have no the right to vote on tax increase, because it would be 'conflict of interest'?

FearEngineer1 votes

Or rather, to use your analogy-

Should the private citizen have no hope of opposing or passing a tax increase just because the 'Happy Friendship Party' has pooled their votes together to automatically decide whatever they want?

Llanite1 votes

Yes, that's exactly how democracy works.

Corporations pay 35% tax because the Happy Friendship Party pooled their vote together and decided that amount is about right.

FearEngineer1 votes

Yes that's how it works (or why it doesn't work, depending on your outlook).

And in this case the corporation and the Happy Friendship Party are the same thing. Now do you see the conflict of interest?

Llanite1 votes

No?

The corps will always vote no, because it's against their interest. The Happy will always vote yes, because it's for their interest.

Both parties SHOULD have the right to vote and present themselves.

If you just say, well, the corps can't vote because they'll always vote no anyway. I'd say the Happy can't vote either, because they'll vote yes anyway.

In order to have a conflict, I need to have an interest in your LP to begin with. That's why they call in "conflict of interests" - different interests collide and you can only pick one. Since I have zero interest in your LP, there is no conflict - it's a clear choice.

FearEngineer1 votes

The outcome of a vote of a premade vs any remaining solo players is defunct. There can be no outcome in that situation besides what the premade wants.

While you may not see that as I problem, I do.

Some dictator's hold an election with one name on the ballot. Maybe you find that acceptable as well. As you say- if everyone has a vote, it's legitimate! The outcome or context has no relevance of course.

Llanite1 votes

And without premade being able to vote, the outcome will always be what the solo player(s) want which is against the premade's interest. There are 2 parties fighting, you cannot give one a pistol and ask the other to stand there doing nothing, then claim "it is fair". The fair treatment is that everyone gets to vote, or no one gets to vote.

The problem being Riot pitching premade against the solo players (do we get to control whether a friend never connect?), and rather seeing the real issue, the idiot starts "premade should not be allowed to vote" fight. Yep, premade will fight to death cuz it's their LP.

FearEngineer1 votes

Why not? The rest of the time that is what is happening to solo players. Is it so horrible that there be a specific situation where solo players aren't at the mercy of a premade, but vice versa?

Llanite1 votes

Because the point is to put a check on remake to protect slow loader and premade, otherwise they would just make the game aborted automatically and spare the headache.

And "I should have xyz because I lack abc" is a pathetic argument.

FearEngineer1 votes

protect slow loader and premade

So you're aware, you just don't care.

Your name calling doesn't help your case.

Llanite1 votes

I already won this conflict of interest argument, unless you can prove otherwise.

At any rate, it's pretty absurd to ask somebody to care about you after you attempt to violate their interests, isn't it?

FearEngineer1 votes

The Blue Rajah2 votes

What conflict of interest? I can guarantee you that, premade or solo, NO one wants to play a 4v5.

Meanie406 votes

Players in a premade with the AFK player also get charged with a loss on a remake. Thus, it is in the premade's interest to play the game, as they'll likely still lose, but have a small chance of winning.

The Blue Rajah1 votes

But "they'll likely still lose, but have a small chance of winning" has always applied to everyone. Yet despite that, I've never met anyone that wanted to be in a 4v5. I don't see why that would suddenly change.

Kitten of Evil4 votes

This is the one thing I'm not sure how they will solve. Assuming it has to be a unanimous vote--or at least 3/4, either:

You let premades vote on the /reform. But remember, as premades with the D/Cer, they will get a loss if they vote to reform, so they probably won't and /reform won't happen.

You don't let premades vote on the /reform. Then the solo players have complete power to punish all premades, even if the D/Cer had a bugsplat or client crash that the premades know is temporary.

Levik2 votes

Why does it have to be all or nothing? It gives all the power to one person if there is a four man premade. If the person that disconnects really only has a bugsplat and they will reconnect in 30 seconds, why not let the people who actually know the situation have more control of said situation?

Kitten of Evil1 votes

Then how do you do it? Even if you give a whole premade team only one vote, their one vote is either going to be designed to be always decisive (if you required unanimous agreement to /reform) or else it would never be decisive (because with only one vote, the premade will never be the majority vote).

FearEngineer1 votes

Why does the solo player who is already at the mercy of premades need to be made even more powerless?

Levik1 votes

{quoted}

already at the mercy of premades

This mentality of having enemies within your own team is holding you back far more than anything else.

Zuil2 votes

Because premades are normally friends, and friends will get upset if they get a loss.

Levik2 votes

So they would rather play 20+ min to lose anyway? Somewhere the logic does not make sense... If their friend is going to reconnect soon, there is no problem. If not, they will take the loss that they are going to get anyway and move on to the next game...

They won't bring back solo-queue...they mentioned that they want more teamwork. So this will stay lol improving the community so that everyone learns how to play as a team.

rtbf2256182411 votes

I don't see how dc-s and afk-s weren't an issue before DynamicQ.

Aazzlano3 votes

what?

if we had only-solo queue, we wouldn't have the issue of pre-mades declining the remake because it would auto-loss them. as it is now, pre-mades will always hit no because they don't want the auto-loss. With no premades, there would be no problem with this system.

rtbf2256182412 votes

What? I'm talking about DC-s and AFK-s existing not the remake option.

Aazzlano2 votes

did you even read the original post?

{quoted}

If that d/c player is in a premade, players of the premade can't take part in the vote to reform.

That was the point of this, that premades who are with the person who d/ced will always vote "No" because they will automatically get assigned a loss, therefore, as a solo player, you are SCREWED if someone on a premade on your team never connects, because the vote will likely fail to go through. And I said about how this wouldn't be an issue with solo queue.

Idk what you are even doing in this thread if you are talking about something completely separate. Why even reply to my comment with something irrelevant to it?

rtbf2256182411 votes

or OR ORRRR bring back Solo Queue and this won't be an issue

How was that implying on what you're saying just now in any way?

Aazzlano2 votes

because if we had solo queue we wouldn't have a problem with premades making the remake function unusable ................ ??

it's not hard

rtbf2256182411 votes

Um...no it is hard. You didn't specify anything. For all i know it could have meant anything that makes Ranked problematic.

Karma Deified3 votes

The vote should work as follows.

  • A split vote is considered a yes.
  • A premade vote is always considered as 1 vote.

Examples

  • 2 solo vote yes and 3 premades vote no. Vote = 2-1 and match is remade.
  • 2 solo vote yes and 1 solo votes no and 2 premades vote no. Vote = 2-2 and match is remade.
  • 1 solo votes yes and 4 premades vote no. Vote = 1-1 and match is remade.

Or better, have no vote. If one player opts out, just remake. There'd be an issue if people don't understand the system and cause a penalized loss.

LeftyRaydy5 votes

If 1 person is AFK there cannot be 5 votes and that means premades have 0 chance at winning a vote say you are pre-made with 4 and one of your premades computer restarts since your pre-made votes don't count as only the solo players decision will decide since a tie is a restart it all depends one 1 vote when there are 5 people on a team

Levik3 votes

I feel that in the average case, having a premade person defend the dc saying that he will connect soon should be fine. Otherwise I just see people whose clients freak out getting screwed 100% of the time.

Astôlfo3 votes

If their clients freak out that much, they shouldn't be playing in the first place. Their fault. Not ours.

Levik3 votes

It is no one's fault. And usually when a client malfunctions they usually reconnect in at most a few minutes. One loss during a series can really mess you up, especially if you don't play that much.

You clearly have not seen times where the servers are getting ddos'd or some kind of issue happens where a player is randomly unable to join just a single game. I have seen both and when the second one happens to me there is literally nothing I can do for often 20 minutes while I try to log in over and over again.

The second one is rare, perhaps one out of 200 games but it does happen.

I have seen both and while there are more players who rage quit or have a toaster you should not assume that the issues is always to be blamed on the one who did not end up joining the game.

Jorencice1 votes

I know someone who crash every single game. Which is riot's fault not his.

He's ALWAYS back before minions even spawn.

Akeydel1 votes

My advice to anyone who has a problem with their client is to repair their local files, I don't have problems, but still do it every couple months just to be sure.

Everelda3 votes

i actually think this is fair since alot of the premades who say this have their friend comeback 15 mins later and ive gotten assinine things like sorry computer crashed so made dinner before relogging (facepalm) or sorry had to let the dog out before relogging or an numerous what why did you even que in the first place things........ note not every single dc premade ive seen has done this im just talking about the premades that DO do this.

cause every premade that has a dc will honestly just never vote cause they are gonna take the hit too. also they could purposefully use the dc as a way to fish the sites during loading to see if it would be better to forfeit at 20 or forfeit now and save some time.............

Levik1 votes

In the average case, I highly doubt that is the norm. Riot should do their best to handle the average case, otherwise would do harm to more people than it would help.

Giving some power back to the solo player in ranked, that's a good direction to be heading in considering how cancerous the solo queue experience in dynamic queue

morris11 votes

Assuming it's a premade with solo player(s) right? If 5 premades have an afk on their team it's their thing to waste their time in the match if they so choose.

Meanie401 votes

Sure, a 5 man premade will always be able to do what they want.

This is about the 3 and 4 man premades being able to unilaterally stop a remake, which is a problem if the AFK was part of that premade (since the whole premade gets losses assigned to them).
