Kennen ADC in LCS
guess who's not playing ranked for a few hours.

it existes since 2012
I'm really worried on the Kennen right now. This game didn't really reflect his strength because how snowbally this game was. However Kennen is played as an midlane, as a support, as a toplaner and now their is a strategy available for adc. Now comes the question, if Kennen is able to play in 4 roles that effectively isn't it time to discuss nerfs for him. I have seen a lot of Kennen both on streams & in my own games. Kennen is really a big factor for winning a certain game.
It was fun while it last but I fear for some nerfs for one of the next patches.

a champion being versatile, but not overpowered in any singular role is the definition of perfect champion design and balance. kennen is sort of a shining example of a good champion design in that sense. he is good top, but not op. he is good mid, but not op. same with support and now you can see he is a niche pick as an adc.
granted, he will never ever work in solo queue outside of very high elo as his dmg out put will fall off significant as an adc come late game, but I love seeing that riot designed a champion this versatile.
not looking forward to seeing adc kennens in my solo queue ranked games who feed ,but hey. can't fault riot for our stupidity.
ADC Kennen used to be a common thing .... back in S2 I think.
Also, the old champions weren't designed with roles or build paths in mind. Which is why they tend to rotate roles and builds more often. Where as more modern champions often have laser focus on being played a specific way or specific place. That's not to say the intent always succeeds (Tank Ekko).

Well that was s2 if a pro player goes adc tahm kench and wins people will try it
If a Pro player goes AP Riven and loses, people will still try it. That wasn't the point. (>_>)
S3 ADC Kennen was the cream of the crop when it came to bot lane picks at worlds.
ADC Kennen's Damage falls off late
I think you forgot about him have the 2nd high base ad and as at level 18 (for ranged)
and besides if you get one stun your fucked and you can always peel for yourself
The fact that he has high base AD doesn't change the fact that he has no steroids to increase his damage output or no large amounts of AD scaling on his abilities to make up for a lack of steroids.
Actually, his W passive has an AD and AS scaling autoattack steroid.
Actually, his W passive has an AD and AS scaling autoattack steroid.
You have to remember that it converts that AD scaling into Magic damage, which may or may not be more beneficial, but not likely something than an ADC Kennen will itemize for.
Plenty of ADC's operate on having mixed damage types. His W passive still only scales with AD and AS; furthermore, ADC Kennen likely already wants either Magic penetration or hybrid penetration runes, much like Corki.

He does 80% of his AD extra damage every other auto as long as you're hitting 3 targets with hurricane. That's a pretty good steroid.
That's a pretty decent steroid, that requires you buy what is normally considered to be a pretty bad item to activate it.
Even then, that's about a 40% AD/auto increase. Tristana has a ~75% AD/auto increase. In short time spans, lucian has +60% AD/auto alongside 120% of his AD.
Relative to the scaling most ADC's have (except for Kalista, but she has insane mobility), his W is incredibly weak.

never ever look at base damages, or attack speed scaling as a way to judge how a character scales into the late game without looking into their kit.
for example, teemo has one of the very best attack speed scalings in the game period. attack speed is VERY efficient on him. however, he has no attack speed steroid that is reliable (his passive does not count as its not practical in a team fight), and no AD ratios on any of his abilities.
sure, he's "viable" in the sense that he is ranged and scales with AD/AS well. but that doesn't mean he won't have a terrible game as an adc come late game. Hell he's bad in ALL phases of the game.
Kennen, as rekkles said was picked for his utility solely. they knew they had to end the game fast, but they felt with all their ridiculous CC that all rekkles needed was to get ahead and they push down towers. Bork > runaans is VERY little damage, but he was super ahead so it didn't matter. they played him as a niche pick and they played it to perfection because they are a pro team and he is a godly ADC.
when you want to look at how something scales into the late game look at their kit in relation to their stats.
Vayne is considered a beast late game cuz her insane attack speed paired with massive AD steroid on ult, with an on hit passive effect to her autos. that is great scaling. you need time to put points in your abilities and level up, so her early game is not as good as her late game.
Twitch has a great attack speed scaling, but also has a massive attack speed steroid on his ult and whoa lookie her, an AD steroid/range steroid on his ultimate. See a trend?
Kogmaw has attack speed scaling passive on his Q, great attack speed scaling in general, and whoa..look again...an on hit effect with his autos/massively increased range.
Jinx has massive range, increased damage on her autos, and AOE crits.
Tristana get massive range from passive, and a 110% attack speed steroid.
Kennen has a terrible late game and falls off super hard as an adc.
The bigger issue with ADC teemo is he only has 500 range and terrible wave clear with nothing that that compensates for either.
The only really successful ADC with 500 range currently is Sivir, which is because she has massive wave clear, range on her abilities, and safety to make up for it.
Even Lucian, king of mobility is struggling with his 500 range
He's got a horrible win rate in every role but top though. As someone who's mained him for forever, I really wish they'd rework him. I love him but he's got issues most people don't realize unless they play him. He does low damage unless ahead and can't do anything on a team fight of his ult is down or wasted. He relies on being oppressive in lane to get ahead, which is a horrible champion design. I'd like to see him get more damage and a little more team fight power in exchange for being less oppressive in lane.
You can't simply buff his damage with the amount of cc his kit provides.
Jokes on you, I've been playing Kennen ADC for a while now. One thing that made me play him as an ADC is his really high auto attack range and his W passive. A resourceless, fairly mobile, mixed damage ADC with a lot of utility seemed really interesting to me and it worked.
So have I
+1 for the ADC Kennen bro
I've been wanting to try adc kennen but I've never actually played kennen before. Should I learn how to play ap kennen first or just start learning him adc?

Just go straight into ranked and flip a coin. -_-
Can do! (I wouldn't actually ever do that)
On a serious note, go ap. AD kennen is not an easy thing to pull off, as it relies 100% on cheesing your opponent.
So does AP Kennen lol. No1 can out kite you with a
but ur so weak itll take awhile. And pretty much the only way you die is from flash ults...and akali
Ap kennen is actually useful post lane phase even if you didn't faceroll your lane. Ad kennen relies 100% on destroying lane, which isn't a reliable way to play this game.
few weeks you mean
Soon everything will be better adc than adcs themselfs.
Ikr
This will end up like dota a few years now, just trust me /s
I don't get it. Kennen adc is nothing new. I've been doing that for like 4 seasons.
LOL when I saw it I was like fuck...RIP solo queue
nerf him. i've seen many champs gutted because they were able to be played in different roles, ad or ap effectively. i used to play ap sion and they killed it. ad fizz, dead. ap ez, nerfed. ap tryn, rengar, and gp gone. etc etc etc. if other champs cant be versitile, than neither can kennen. gut this turd now.
You gut my Kennen and we're going to need a talk. We should gut Urgot too by your logic since he was played mid in LCS and won.
he was mid as the bruiser hes meant to be. he didnt support then adc then ap top.
Urgot was never intended for mid. In fact he was originally a marksman in Bot lane and deemed broken as shit with Taric. He was gutted and rarely got seen, if anything in TOP! I didn't ever see Urgot mid until after LCS.
Which, since you say that's where he's meant to be, would you also say Jayce and Olaf should be in mid like the bruiser they're meant to be?
i dont think youre getting it. urgot mid was played and built exactly the same as urgot bot, and top. his playstyle never changed. olaf was still olaf and jayce was still jayce. kennon on the other hand can build support, ap and adc while still being just as effective. if ap urgot top or support urgot would work in worlds, then you have a good example.
I've given ADC Kennen a earlier in the year, I want to mention this to you.
There's a requirement to ADC Kennen, you need to basically own your lane or you're going to lose. You have no abilities that help you as a marksman minus W passive and maybe E, but they lack any damage. Other marksman generally have abilities they can use to either get at an enemy farther away, or boost their damage in their AA range reliably, to assist them past the laning phase. Kennen doesn't have that. Sure, he has an escape and a stun, but they don't do any damage as AD. AP Kennen does more past the laning phase, so you have to try and win early.
Also, I'm unsure how being able to perform in a different area is considered a bad thing if he doesn't roflstomp you all the time. People complained about Jayce mid because it either was destroyed by Jayce mains, or Jayce fed 20 kills because of LCS copycat. Kennen has been in that Niche pick of ADC since SEASON 2! It isn't anything new, but people every year treat it like it is.
Also...

like i said, i've always played off-meta, niche champs/builds. once those builds got popular, they were nerfed or reworked. every single time. kennon stepped up and now its his turn. blame the pros for exposing him.
If just as effective means he usually loses in any of those roles, you're right. He has horrible win rates in every lane but top. And what is wrong with a champ that can effectively play multiple roles if he's not OP in any role? That just adds diversity and fun to the game.
Yep, you're gonna see loads of douchebags such as these:
Just finished watching the first ADC Kennen Worlds match, and then proceeds to queue for rank game. Some dick in rank picks ADC Kennen
Me: Dude, can you not? I'm in my promos right now Dick: Don't worry man, I main him :D Me: ......
I never thought a adc with the exception for kalista will bring in ruunans
uh, kog maw? Varus? i guess twitch? Cait can make use of it. Ashe? i am probably forgetting someone but oh well.
Who played it? I need to watch the game.
Rekkles from Fnatic.......twice by the way.
Fnatic played AD Kennen VS C9 https://youtu.be/6uhXo2WXCwY?t=660
Well...nice to see Kennen get some discussion for now though I sure hope sheep don't start picking him for this very reason. I prefer my Kennen top, he's a great champ for the hit and run playstyle though true adc Kennen has been around for quite some time before this year.
Well that explains why I've been seeing a few in Teambuilder lobbies.
Tried that once before, didn't like it.
i had alot of fun playing against kennen bots since i play support lisa. xD
