Is there any reason at all to pick Akali over Diana anymore?

Things Akali has over Diana: -Sustain -????

Before Akali was better than Diana at splitpushing and making picks. After her rework she doesn't have jack over her. Her passive no longer working on turrets means she can no longer splitpush and the complete gutting of her ultimate and overall burst means she's no longer better at making picks than Diana unless obscenely ahead. Diana has her double tap R to kill her opponents before they can get away and has her E to pull them back. Akali has one medium damage rotation and then has to wait another 4 years for it to come back up.

Before, both of them had very comparable burst mid and late game which made Akali much better at making picks, but now that Akali's burst has been reduced to almost nothing there's no reason you would want Akali on your team for making picks when you can just have Diana do it 10 times better instead. Akali's shroud is still, for the most part, useless in teamfights because it always ends up in a bad position because she can't choose where she wants to place it and is still very vulnerable to AoE just like before. Not to mention the bug that allows some abilities to reveal her that shouldn't be able to which makes it that much weaker. Diana, on the other hand, has no problem surviving because she has her big shield and can build tankier without sacrificing much damage while Akali can't. Her E on top of all of that to CC her opponents and mess them up makes her even better at teamfighting.

Before it was kinda a meme how Diana was just "Akali 2.0", but now it isn't even a contest whose more reliable of a champion. Diana is basically Akali 5.0 by this point. If the point of the Assassin update was to make the Assassins more unique, then how is Akali unique when compared to Diana? The only thing she really has in her kit that Diana doesn't is her shroud, but Riot ruined it with the update so that doesn't really count as much anymore.

imo the ahri hentai is waaaaay too saturated. There's almost 1300 pics of ahri, while the only one even remotely close is sona at 800. Also the fact that annie has more pics than leblanc or eve is just... disturbing.

No she can dash out with W and dash back it with R and go back in W -> repeat.

Diana can dash in and dash in again. Kit-wise Akali still has the same advantages, whether she is overtuned or not is an entirely different matter.

faster burst is acceptable when you consider that akali is almost impossible to escape from for most of the champions in the game, even if they decide to use flash

in addition; diana is much healthier for the game even if her burst is higher, especially when you're comparing her to a champion like akali

Diana can actually get caught out unlike Akali with her shroud. Diana actually gankable. Laner has to bait out Akali shroud somehow or you just can't really gank her effectively.

The Akali rework was a disaster. It was intended to make her a unique assassin, but all it did was make her a worse Diana and leave tank Akali as the only viable build. Like who thought "Gut the ratios and buff the base numbers" was going to make her more likely to build damage?

Her base damages still aren't even that good. Even when she builds Bruiser/Tank she still does very little damage because she's so weak lol. Her ratios aren't high enough for her to be a good Assassin and the only way she'll ever be good is if she can 100-0 someone in one rotation which Riot will never allow.

Akali's actually stickier, because DIana only has 2 dashes if she hits her Q, or 3 if she stays on you long enough to Q you twice.

It's also a lot more predictable, but still not much you can do about it.

It's easier to get pentas with Akali because you still have a gap closer after killing the first four/three/two

It's easier to snowball as Akali because it's easier to gank lanes, you don't have to walk up to them and cast your Q, and don't have to walk away with your head hung if it misses.

Akali does get that extra dash over Diana, but she doesn't have the damage to back it up anymore while Diana has more than enough damage to get the job done in addition to being able to build more defensive than Akali. Also, after Diana gets some CDR, if she lands a Q on you, then she can wait a little over a second before dashing to you and her Q will only have about 2 seconds left before it's up again so she can get 3 dashes if she plays it semi decently.

I've been spamming both of them a lot lately and I definitely think that Akali is no longer considered the best pick Assassin in the game after these changes. Diana, in addition to other Assassins, just do it so much better now and it's really saddening.

Snowballing is a lot easier as Diana. She actually has a really good level 2 all in cheese that can get her snowballing hard against a lot of matchups. Akali still has a terribad early game and her level 6 powerspike is a lot weaker than before because of her ult nerfs and Riot's decision to conveniently nerf revolver at the same time they gutted her damage.

Diana's not considered an Assassin by Rito :P She's gonna get changes in the fighter reworks.

Diana can't 100-0 you at level six, even if she takes her time. Akali still can, last I've seen.

Waiting for the Q to almost expire makes Diana's engage so telegraphed it's not an engage worthy of an assassin anymore. Aka takes too long.

Diana still basically plays just like an Assassin regardless of what Riot's classification is. Akali could never 100-0 someone at level 6 to begin with even when ahead and after the big nerfs to her burst there is no way she is instantly killing anyone when she hits 6. Diana also doesn't have to wait for Q to almost expire. What I meant was that if she waits just a little bit before ulting to the person she tagged she can still be in ult range and then ult to them and tag them almost instantly again with another Q and double tap R for a kill.

The nerf to her R dmg was really bad it is a lost of 100 dmg per charge it was 150 before the update now it is 50. I dont mind the change of her passive and shroud but she totally need a change somewhere in her current kit, maybe they could add a stun of .75sec to anyone who actually in the zone of her shroud was. This will actually offer something to her group more than the current slow one.

Bruisers/Divers usually don't instaburst people.

She instabursts adcs, people who don't build a lick of MR and sit outside of position, and people who roam around the jungle without vision. Save some cc and lock her up when she engages. She isn't untargetable on her engages.
