My Personal Review On Kled And Suggestions

So this is my .cents if anyone wants more opinions on Leagues newest champion. I'm almost mastery 4 with Kled and have been doing well with him, and what not.

So to me, Kled is good and isn't above or below that standard. He seems to thrive more in team fights and engaging the most. His laning face up in top lane is a little below average, he seems to lose quite heavy and more so one of them farming top laners. A bit like how Gangplank loses most matches early until he gets his sheen, kinda similar with Kled in a sense but totally different champions.

Top is his best role for now until they make changes, but Jungling is quite good in solo que despite multiple early backs from being dismounted which is going to happen every time, especially the first clear in which you'll be lucky to get 3 camps before backing. (Wouldn't recommend jungle in higher elos, because Kled jungle can be exposed so hard early game due to him getting dismounted easily. Basically if you see a Kled jungle, you can invade often and pick up some kills on him, and he isn't that dominant early game, especially in the jungle, so yeah, a Lee Sin, Shaco, and just a lot of others will be able to farm Kled and get kills off him). This will eventually lead me to suggesting give his courage more tweaks but I'll get to that in a few lines before.

So to recap what I typed so far. He is a top laner, can do decent jungling if left alone and in solo que lower elos. He loses lane in a lot of match ups, especially the more so meta ones like Trundle, and even Illaoi is a good pick against him. His jungle clear is terrible.

Speaking of clear? His waveclear is ultra bad, and instead of going with the recommended build, you should totally build item 3748 as the first item to give him that waveclear boost, and it helps with his courage meter. Then, you could get Blackcleaver second, or Ghostblade, and go tank in which brings up my next opinions.

I don't think he's a good tank and tanky as people say. In fact, one skill rotation with most champs seem to knock him off his mount Skaarl. Literally. A level 1 battle with Riven? Her x3 Q combo dismounts you. Also, the "health" he gains back from being mounted again doesn't seem to be much at all like people make it seem.

But if given the chance to farm and playing safe, Kled is a good team fighter and that's where he shines the most. Champions/junglers, like Rammus, Hecarim, are so awesome to gank with when using Kleds ultimate. His ultimate in itself is just awesome and the funny part about it is that it doesn't do much damage, it's more of a psychological effect in which boosts your teams motivation as you all go flying at a super speed and engage. Also, you can use the ultimate in different ways than just ganking because you can use it to take objectives leaving the enemy team behind and having to slowly follow and by the time they catch up, you guys took an objectives. For example had a match earlier that we won due to the ultimate being used differently. Basically we all 5 pushed bot to the open inhibitor (we opened their nexus) as we were pushing up the bottom lane, the enemy team tried ganking us but we were ahead and able to kill the inhibitor fast and I instantly ulted us to the nexus so we can hit it while the enemy team had no choice but to keep running and it was too late.

Kled being off his mount is just useless, especially in a team fight, and he can be an easy focus and easy kill. It's sad really. You can only use the Q to shoot backwards, and the W which is active and his empowered 4 hit combo. Always try to back when you are dismounted, and in lane, try to play at the turret and use the Q on the enemy while hugging your turret. (Honestly in high elos, or competitive play, Kled is so easy to expose when not mounted. You guys will see this if he is played in the LCS. First time he gets dismounted, the enemy team just needs to call their jungler and tower dive him and he's dead.)

I love him tho despite his flaws, his voice acting is comical, the swearing is a new step for League and being from kentucky, this character hits home with me with the way people sound and talk.

My suggestions is buff the dismounted Kled. I think his E should be available to use while not mounted. Maybe he can just dash forward or lunge with his weapon kinda like Fizz does with his Q. I mean this should be done if his courage isn't going to be buffed because farming courage with Q takes forever because you can't engage on the enemy laner, you will die more than likely because the other way is to hit them with the W which is the same as mounted Kled. Hitting a champion gives you the most courage and hitting turrets, minions give you little to none and it's a long process if you are just farming minions so um yeah, playing at the turret with Q isn't fun. Even when built tanky, a unmounted Kled is a dead Kled and easy to expose.

2nd suggestion is just buff the courage he gets from minions. He should get way more than he does. I would suggest a courage bar that works the way Gnars rage bar works and builds up. Although many will cry OP or broken, but to me, it wouldn't be that broken, he doesn't get much health back from being being remounted and it's incredibly easy to dismount him in the first place.

When ahead tho, Kled is a beast but that can be said about almost any champion, so not worth mentioning although I just did.

Overall, he's a fun champion, he is average at best, thrives in teamfights and has a lot of counterplay and is at risk more often than not. Trundle, Darius, Riven, Volibear, Illaoi, and a lot of others wreck him in lane. I can't think of any champions Kled beats in lane honestly, hes kinda like Gangplank where you farm in lane, get your items, then you can your enemy laner and have a chance.

Also, the damage Kled does isn't good outside of his W. His Q and E do little to no damage, especially his E which is only available in mount as I mentioned. Seeing that you are going to be dismounted often, it's best to max Q second but the damage from that isn't much at all. So kinda depressing.

Honestly above all, I'd keep Kled's damage the way it is if you buff his courage to make him get back on his mount faster.

Also, Kled's ultimate can be useless, just walk in a bush, go out of vision or go out of lane, and he will not be able to jump into you. Champions like Thresh who can whip back Kled, or Bard's ultimate is some good counters as far as abilities go, Trundle again with his Pillar works.

So that's about it, he's an average champion, but works best when engaging with your team to start teamfights with Kled's ultimate.

In my experience playing as him and against him he needs a nerf. Somtimes in teamfights I can't die even if I'm not fed. I get knocked of Skarll like half way through the fight and by then around half of their team is dead then I get Skarll back instantly and finish of the rest. Using my E and Q to rangle the stranglers. As for playing against him I have only beat him in lane once using Graves. Although even in that game he still carried his team to victory late game.

In conclusion I just feel like Kled needs some sort of balance. Cause right now he can be a undying monster to play against.

I always max Q as Kled and play safe until the laner screws up. Since his Q has a low cooldown and good range it allows for a useful last hitting move.
